Meineke Car Care Center

Most of my experiences at oil change shops include the standard, annoying attempts of them trying to up-​sell me on everything that could possibly be replaced on my car.
My experience today at Meineke was the first time I have caught one of these crooked places in an outright lie.
My car has had an issue with its computer for the past five years. Because of this, there is no way to read the codes that are causing the check engine light to be on. I knew this, but the gentleman at Meineke today did not.
After changing my oil, the guy looks at me with a grave look on his face and tells me that the timing belt needs to be replaced immediately, or I risk ruining my car. Knowing what I did, I asked him if that was the code that was causing my check engine light. He assured me it was. I asked him what the code was, and he said he hadn’t written it down. I told him that I didn’t mind waiting while he re-​checked. He came back and said that the computer had glitched, and that he couldn’t get the code back up.
Meineke is a good deal for the standard oil change ($ 14.95 with coupon), but don’t listen to a thing these hacks have to say.

Meineke is such a great place to have car repair work done. They are very courteous and professional, and are quick to let you know exactly what’s wrong, what needs to be done to correct the problem, how long it will take to finish the required work, and how much it will cost. In addition to their first rate customer service, the Meineke/​Maaco Car Care One credit card from Synchrony Bank makes budgeting automotive repair costs much simpler than it otherwise would be! I go to Meineke for all of my car repair work — wouldn’t have it any other way!

I came to get an oil change after I read horrible reviews about jiffy lube and the high pressure sales. At my visit today I left completely satisfied with the service. I was surprised when he (I think his name is Mike) made a few recommendations, which I know I really needed, but never pressured me to have them do the work! The price was great, $ 14.95 after a mail-​in $ 10 rebate! I will definitely come back!

Avoid this place like the plague unless you like being ripped off. The staff is extremely rude when you try and dispute that they are pulling the flim-​flam as I just experienced. I bought one brand new tire to replace until I could afford to buy all new ones less than 2 months ago. While driving on I-​84 I had a blow out on the new tire. I examined the new the tire and found no puncture holes on the tread of the tire. After getting it to Meineke the first mechanic said it looked like a blow out. After I got to the shop the tire was removed from the rim and before I could get over to check the inside of the tire myself the manager AL suddenly and miraculously pulled out a 2 inch screw from the inside of the wheel which I know was in his hand because he didn’t want to be responsible for a bad brand new tire. This place is a fucking joke and it should be burned to ground with the owner and all the shady ass mechanics inside. Are there any trustworthy mechanics anywhere?

These Guys did a great job of upholding their companies policies. I was happy they upgraded my brake pads to the ones they now use and changed my warranty for «life» instead of the 2 years. Everything runs great. I probably won’t return because I am now living in CA but would suggest this place!

As a man who has not had a reliable place to take his car for many years I was amazingly happy to find John and the boys at Meinicke. They were fair and took great care of us. We could not recommend them more.

My Ford Escape would not start after dropping off the kids at school. Had to call a tow truck, and towed my car to this Meineke. After 45 minutes (two or three of which were actually used to analyze the current/​voltage to/​from the battery and alternator), I was told that I needed a new alternator, and it would cost me well over $ 500. I got on the phone and got a quote for $ 350 at Firestone and $ 267 from the battery store where I purchase my battery. When I kindly told Meineke that I was towing it elsewhere, he told me that the alternator was actually intermittent. He charged me $ 72 for his time and shop supplies (???).
When I got to the battery store, they determined that the alternator was fine, but that the battery would not hold a charge. Since it was within warranty, he replaced the battery for free. I watched my dashboard for signs of trouble for the next week, but saw no alternator warnings. I returned to Meineke with this information, but he would not return my money nor give me $ 72 credit for alterative service. That was two months ago, with no further indication of any alternator problems. When Meineke Corp. sent me an automatic email asking about how my service had been performed, I told them just as above, but have not received any response from them. Apparently, everything goes at their shops.
Are these guys honest or competent? You be the judge.

$ 700 to replace 6 sparkplugs 30k miles BEFORE they are due to be changed to address a sluggish engine as a «place to start?»
No thanks. I’ll go to a real mechanic.

At the end of a lovely trip to the Gorge, our 94 Nissan Pathfinder started to overheat, complete with steam pouring out from under the hood.
Luckily, we were able to make it to this Meineke Car Care Center on 82^nd, and my three women friends and I all headed to the service center counter. Even though they were obviously swamped, we were treated respectfully and told they’d be able to diagnose it within 40 mins.
While waiting, we checked under the hood and saw that a hose had detached. We reattached the hose and went back in to see if they might sell us some coolant.
Instead of just meeting our request, Eric went above and beyond our expectations!
He thanked us for being able to take a look and self diagnose the problem, since they were so busy. Then he offered to come out with us to double check the hose condition.
He confirmed that everything else looked good, he filled the radiator with coolant/​water, brought out a pressure tester, and within 5 mins. confirmed that it was still holding pressure (no leaks). Lastly, he washed the engine and sent us on our way… NO CHARGE! Rare, wonderful customer service, much appreciated in our time of need!

I have a friend who is a mechanic and my older car is in pretty good condition. Just wanted to save a few dollars. I scheduled an appt for an oil change with a groupon and got in within a week. When they were finished the owner was very rude and started to reprimand me on the fluids in my car. He had a laundry list of things that needed to be done and was very pushy about getting them done right then. Told me I needed the brake fluid changed and challenged me when I told him my mechanic had just done a brake job. It is difficult as a single woman going into these places and this visit made sure that I will not be going back. In reading the reviews it seems like only the men are treated nicely.

I bought a Groupon for 3 oil changes here. I called and had to make an appointment 4 days out, which is annoying because I am a single mother and I juggle 3 jobs to support myself and my daughter. I arrived 30 minutes early and found out that I had to have a printed copy of my Groupon to use it. I do not have a printer so I had to cancel my appointment, although the gentleman behind the counter offered to search through my email account to try and find the printable Groupon. Thanks but no thanks buddy, it’s called a personal inbox because It’s personal! So I had to reschedule for another 5 days out and I have to ask someone to take my car in for me because I have to work. I wish I had never bought these Groupons because they are non transferrable and honestly, I don’t want to go back to this place. It’s been nothing but a hassle.

I brought my car into meineke for my 5k oil change. And everyone at this shop was very friendly. I would highly recommend this shop to everyone. i had to get some extra work done and they were kind enough to let me know what needed to be done without too much pressure. They said they will work with me to try and get everything fix for me for a good price. I have been going there for about 2 years now and I love it

had my starter replaced as well as a tune up! staff was great and made sure my car was in shape for my cross country drive! very helpful and reasonably priced!
