Nice place w/great atmosphere. I spent a while studying here today and sipping coffee. It’d be nice if they had more wheat-free food options, but no complaints.

Feeling like you’ve been in the burbs too long? One more trip to Starbucks not the hat appealing? Sisters’ Coffee definitely makes you feel like you’re really in a Portland coffee house. There was a bearded barista wearing a fidora and I drank the American he made while sitting at a rustic wooden topped table and listened to something that sounded like Enya mixed with Arlo Guthrie. Overall, nice place for the atmosphere, not sure I’d make this a stop to talk business or crank out that research paper. I’d say the coffee was pretty good and the dessert offerings were fantastic. Try the salted chocolate brownie. It’s big, you’ll definitely have to share it, unless you have type 2 diabetes and can’t log in a world where Chip Kelly coaches the 49ers.

Good coffee, really great staff. This place is two stories, and also on a corner, with floor to ceiling windows on two sides so lots of natural light. If you’re coming to study, I’d recommend trying to snag one of the few small tables upstairs, most of them have wall chargers. Wish there were more food options though.

We came to Sister’s to escape the rain and were presently surprised with the warmth of the shop, as well as the employees. I got a black coffee-it was strong and delicious. My sister got a latte with hemp and claims it is the best latte she’s ever had! The only downside was the lack of cozy seating. All of it was claimed, which left us sitting at a table with stools… Not the end of the world, obviously, but selfishly I would have loved to sit on a couch.

Sisters Coffee is my favorite coffee shop in NW Portland, hands down. The vibes, the coffee, the food, and even the smell when you walk in are all great. Be sure to try one of their great sandwiches. They are all less than $ 5 and come with a nice orange slice on the plate. If you’re looking for a quiet coffee shop, this might not be it. The music volume level is usually not quiet enough to study well to, but is great for having conversations with people.

I ordered a hazelnut-vanilla latte. The coffee tasted great! There’s a cozy feel in the coffee shop, although it was pretty crowded on a weekend morning. I love the loft-style area inside. It’s s great place to catch up with a friend, or get some work done!

They aren’t fast, but they aren’t as slow as the pretty boys over at Barista. I get my latte after the three folks ahead of me and the before the three behind me, and really, that kind of line integrity matters. You ever do the slow burn when the guy behind you gets his crappacino before you get your mocha crapola? You kind of side eye him as he is picking it up, roll your eyes as he smiles and says thanks to the barista, the barista who just broke line protocol! You silently chortle when it sloshes a bit and he winces and says ow. Serves you right, cutter. Where was I? Oh yeah, so this place, they don’t do that here. They keep things in order. And the coffee is pretty good. I have a regular cup of joe, and a latte, and they were both exactly as they should be. You can stop reading now, because the rest is just a story about what I saw one day I was there, and it really isn’t about the business. It’s about people, and how they treat each other, and the strange contortions we go through to appear to be doing things the«right» way. We try hard, us people, we really do. But sometimes it still comes out all wonky. It’s mid-morning, it’s kind of crowded, there are something like 5 folks lingering to pick up, and a line waiting to pay, and most of the tables are full. I’m kind of squished into a corner with the folks who are waiting to pick up. There are a couple of empty chairs here and there — people like to leave a «we’re not on a date» seat between themselves and strangers. It’s interesting the way folks seat themselves in communal spaces. A young woman is sitting at a larger than average square table that is against the sofa, so there are essentially 3 sides that can take an occupant. She is in one chair and there are two available. Here comes a guy in a wheelchair, and not one of those nimble little chairs, but one that he has to operate with one hand. He clearly has limited mobility in all his extremities. Good on him, I think, getting out even though it’s a hassle. Here is where the people watching gets interesting. Everyone notices him, but nobody looks at him. Everyone is being careful, I guess to treat him just like anyone else. Again, good for people! But then it goes sideways, because this guy needs an assist. He is looking around for a place to park, and he isn’t finding one. The table with three sides would be perfect for him, because it is big and he can actually slide part of his chair under it, but alas, a young woman is occupying it. Everyone in the place can see he is looking at this table, then looking around, then looking at this table. I mean, you can’t miss what is needed here, right? And the woman, she has her face in a book, but there is no way she is unaware of the guy in the wheelchair. Finally, just when I’m about to ask him if he needs some help… (and this is the part that I’m curious about — when is it okay to offer help, when not? Should you wait until you can see that it is needed? Should you offer any old time? Last night I saw a lady in a wheelchair waiting to cross the street, and it was a street with tracks for the streetcar, so I casually said, you okay? And she nodded and said yes, and I said have a good one and kept walking. I mean, what’s wrong with just asking?) … he speaks up for himself and asks her if he can pull up to the table and share it with her. Here is where she totally dropped the«be a decent human being» ball, because she looked uncomfortable and said, I’m waiting for some friends. The guy said, oh sure, cool and started scanning the room again, then the woman came to her senses and said, but you know we can sit on the sofa when they arrive, and she gave him the table. Hurrah! Okay, now he is looking at three chairs tucked into the table that he can’t move. I mean, damn, do the challenges just come one after the other every freaking day for the disabled? Humbling. Anyway, now he has been in the place long enough, that folks are overcoming that weird thing they did about noticing him but not noticing him, and a man reached over and pulled out a chair so the man in the wheelchair could maneuver into the space. No big deal, just did it. Thanks and you’re welcome exchanged. Then I left. But it gave me a lot to think about. Thanks for reading.

BESTAMERICANOEVER! Americanos are my drink of choice and Sisters truly has the best one. Their location is not convenient for me but I routinely go out of my way to get one. It’s hard to describe, but their roast is smooth, flavorful and is «chewy». It definitely has personality. Their sausage breakfast sandwich is also very good. The ambiance is cozy, feels like a mountain cabin.

Good espresso horrible selection of pastries. Good chocolate chip cookie but pastries are boring and not good looking to eat. Cute ambience.

A well-decorated coffee shop with cozy vibes. Décor is always the first thing I notice when I walk into a coffee shop and it definitely sets the tone. I can imagine myself sitting here on a Sunday with the newspaper, a book, or some friends. However, I thought the coffee was ok. Nothing too memorable and the prices were decent. There are a couple of communal tables and a comfy couch.

This shop will make you feel like you are at a ski resort — with its leather couches and chairs, fire place and wooden communal tables. If I lived in Portland, I’d be there all the time. The coffee is great, but the service is slow. Italian sodas are also on the menu for those that need a break from all the wonderful coffee shops about the area.

I absolutely loved the atmosphere of this coffee shop! Its’ rustic envrionment and open layout made it extremely inviting to stay longer than just ordering a coffee. Being a student, it is a great place to study and do homework. There is plenty of seating, and I loved that there are two stories with different sized tables and chairs. I got the sausage, egg, and cheese breakfast sandwhich(for lunch). It was on a toasted English muffin and served with orange slices. There was also a chipotle aoli sauce, which was extremely tasty! Although I did not get their coffe this time, I did purchase a Townshend’s Kombucha drink(flavor:Love), which was delicious! The glasses they used for iced drinks are mason jars, which I think is adorable and very unique! Overall, great experience!

They are ok and pretty basic. The drinks are nothing out of the ordinary. The food are bland and boring. I’m sure it is what a feast to some people. The lay out of the entire space seems cramped. I feel like I’m about to elbow people everytime I’m about to take a step. I do love the design and it’s location. It is pretty much a trek to get to Sisters if you’re coming from Burnside. I love the lodge-y feel while waiting in line for my coffee.

I usually frown upon coffee shops that asks what size I want my cappuccino to be(sorry, I know I’m one of those assholes), but given that the coffee here is good and fairly-priced, and the customer service is excellent, I would come here again. It’s a very good place for studying and reading. Plenty of seatings(the 2nd level is super cozy) without being too cramped.

I LOVE the loft area up the stairs. I am so productive when I come here. I love the atmosphere and the staff is SO nice. Coffee is good, not the best I’ve ever had but definitely enjoyable. Seems to be a place where lots of people congregate for work meetings, or some coffee/food after exercise. Beautiful wooden tables that are great for community sharing and working!

Everyone who works there does their very best to make you feel like an individual. From recognizing your face and name to the type of food and drink you usually order. Working in the Pearl this has become my «Cheers».

For the longest time, I’ve always wanted to try Sisters Coffee Company which I did today(so glad). As we walked in, there was an immediate cozy-welcoming feeling with rustic tables and chairs. I really enjoy looking at the Oregon map on the wall above the fire place. There’s even seating(aka the loft) on the 2nd level and books to read. This would be a great place to study, work or just hangout. Sisters is a clean and organized establishment. I ordered a pumpkin spice latte. The coffee is smooth and delicious. The gal that rang up my order and barista was awesome. Friendly staff. Overall, I had a great experience and a lovely cup of coffee. I definitely would return to try other drinks. If you are in the area, come on by for some caffeine and while your at it support a local business.

One of the coziest coffee spots: comfy couch, nook tables, single chairs, fireplace, etc. The Black Butte Bomber is good value for $ 2.25. Food options are good, but not great. Very friendly staff. Beautiful Pearlites and cops make it good people watching spot.

Great little coffee place in the top of the Pearl District. They set it up well. There is a loft area where you can get away from the busy store area. In the loft there are small seating arrangements where you can claim your own little private nook. When they make espresso based coffee, they will make the leaf on the top with the milk. Quite fancy of them. I am a regular coffee drinker. They serve the regular coffee in the coffee pump machines that you self pump. I am not a huge fan of these and prefer something that presents a fresher coffee, however they have a couple of different roasts including a flavored coffee so it was a good variety. If I was going to add anything, it would be more plugs. It is hard to work on the downstairs long table without juice. I would add more juice, however maybe this is intentional in order to turn customers faster and generate more people turning in the downstairs space. Great place for coffee in the Pearl and it gives you a good alternative to a chain coffee shop like Starbucks and Stumptown.

It’s the«We’re not a Starbucks!» Starbucks! And that, gentle readers, is both good and bad. Sister’s Coffee is not some sort of Evil Empire of caffeinated beverages, but they do put off a super-corporate vibe. Everything in the shop seems a little too market-researched, if that makes sense. It’s cozy, but without much of a soul. If an authentic atmosphere is important to you, just beware of that. But there’s a lot that Sisters inherits from Starbucks that is good, too! The employees are always, ALWAYS friendly. Drinks come out fast. They’ve got all the silly syrups you could desire. Treat yo self to that PSL, I’m sure that Sister’s Coffee has one. I, on the other hand, get black coffee. It’s consistently good here, though on occasion it turns out they’re completely out and I have to wait for them to brew giant carafes. That’s frickin annoying. But it’s always been a pleasant cup, once I’ve gotten it. It’s a large shop with a couple of communal tables and the rest of the space dedicated to sitting solo or maybe up to 4 people. There’s plenty of outlets, free wifi, and all the other bells and whistles you could desire. I do wish they had a second bathroom, as it gets busy and sometimes you don’t want to wait in a line 3 deep to relieve yourself. When you gotta go, you gotta go, amiright? I’m happy to go here if I need to kill time in the area. It’s also close to my husband’s office, which helps. I think Sister’s is just fine.

Solid cup of coffee, good vibe in the coffee shop… A lot of cozy seats and nooks for working or meeting up with friends. We just came in here for a drip coffee to-go, so I didn’t get to experience too much of the shop, but liked what I saw. My husband ordered a Latte and said it was tasty… I’m looking forward to going back!
