I was in the area, needed caffeine, and Unilocal led me right here. I was blown away. I got an iced mocha – fast friendly service, and just about the best mocha I’ve ever had. I would venture across town again for one of these.

Nice neighborhood coffee shop; excellent café mocha, had a nice milk chocolate taste; ladies were friendly; place has a few tables outside that give a nice view of the main street, and the neighborhood skyline. Seating is limited to a bar –no individual tables, but you get a view of their roasting operation; no restroom; not really a place to squat with a laptop.

Pleasant way to start any morning. Staff was welcoming and talented. The mochas and cappuccinos were vibrant and delicious. Nossa Familia Coffee became our coffee house during our Portland holiday. We even took some home. Excellent coffee in a comfy environment.

Awesome coffee at very reasonable prices. Did their Tuesday cupping tour(free — check their website) and the guide, Claire, was very knowledgeable about the entire process. Highly recommend.

Been here several times now and I think I can say it is one of my favorites. It doesn’t have lots of spaces to hang out, just a couple of tables out front and a counter inside. What it does have is excellent coffee. I just love the flavor. I have had(other coffee) all over the city and every time I am underwhelmed. I mean, its good, but(other coffee) often has this floral quality to it that just isn’t to my liking. No such thing at Nossa Familia. Just hot and strong, wonderful aroma, pleasing flavor and long lasting feeling of being a coffee super achiever.

Came across this special place. I was able to get a quick authentic quick pick me upper! How wonderful to see the process of a cute little coffee shop. The aroma and taste was very satisfying. Bucket list crossed. Thank you Nossa!

If you like coffee you will love Nossa. They have a wide selection of coffee beans, and the quality is excellent. There is a noticeable difference from other coffee roasters in the overall quality, texture, and flavor. The coffee and latte drinks are smooth, not bitter, and the baristas know what they are doing. The café is quite small, and they don’t have much room inside to sit. They do have a few tables outside. This is not a place to chill with your coffee as they simply do not have the space. However, get it to go and walk around the pearl district.

Just cartwheeled into this coffeeshop like a badass. Ordered a mocha. Yep. Not the tall drip I would normally get, but Lucas the barista sold me on it. I don’t normally buy mochas, but when I do, holy shit, Im going to Nossa! Muito legal!

YUM! I had the Seasonal Mocha(Mocha Fogo) and it was probably the best mocha I’ve had since London. Wasn’t too sweet, spiced just right, and the fresh milk made it even better(my boyfriend gets skim milk while I usually get whole milk, but even without the fat of whole milk it was delicious!)! My boyfriend got the regular mocha and loved it. Most places over roast their coffee beans and the bitter taste is just too strong that no amount of sugar will fix, but this place has a great balance! Go in and give it a try, you won’t be disappointed!

Come for the mocha, stay for the Pao de Queijo. I have dreams about their mochas with chocolate whipped cream. They are so incredibly delicious. Plus, while you wait, you get to check out their roasting operation which is pretty cool. If you don’t mind waiting, order some of their Brazilian cheese bread(Pao de Queijo). They can take a few minutes but they’re totally worth it. They are little round puffs of cheesy, heavenly bites of joy that make the trek there worth it.

This place is not located in the bustling part of the Pearl but they make nicely presented coffee drinks especially their mochas with their home made chocolate whipped cream. The shop is small with a few seats inside so it’s more of a grab and go station. The barista is friendly and the nice thing is if you check in you get a bogo!!!

It’s always an iced or hot mocha wherever I go. Even though it was beautiful out, I wanted the full flavor so opted for the hot mocha. I typically forego the whip as it’s typically too sweet but this one was all chocolate flavor with no sweetener. Highly recommended spot for just coffee and not sitting around as seating is very limited.

It tastes as amazing as it looks! This was one of the best mochas I’ve ever had, it was rich and creamy, and the espresso they use is delicious. Staff was friendly too. My only disappointment is that I’ve been in this area of Portland before, and never knew this place was here! I’m not even ashamed to say that after I finish this cup, I fully intend to go purchase another one. Will for sure be stopping by again next time I’m in Portland!

THEBESTMOCHA I have ever had. Chocolate whip cream and a slow steamed chocolate milk makes this incredible. The coffee shop is in the same warehouse where they are roasting beans. From the outside it does not look like anything but don’t let that fool you. Inside lies the best mocha known to man. Wonderfully friendly staff as well. I highly recommend this place.

Stumbled upon Nossa Familia Coffee today while wondering the streets of the Pearl District. We looked on Unilocal first for the ratings and photos. After a few oohs, ahhs and Unilocal offer of buy 1 get 1 free we had to try it. My husband ordered the mocha w/in house chocolate whip cream which was amazing. I had a soy latte that was smooth and flavorful. The coffee shop is a pretty small place. There is no seating inside but there are some outside. The staff was friendly, genuine and prompt. There isn’t a restroom in the shop but Safeway is only one block away. Overall? I had a great experience today. Great staff and great coffee. Need I say more? Be sure to check into Unilocal and redeem the offer.

The place is small, from the brief look I saw it seemed to be decorated more for interesting effect than for comfort. All of this was perfectly ok because I was just stopping to grab a latte and go. The wood interior was rather soothing during my brief stay. I’ve had their coffee before, but never in their own shop. It was every bit as good, maybe better? Hard to tell since it always seems to be delicious. I also fell in love with the wafel thingies they had, Rip van Wafel. When you’re here I very highly recommend trying the traditional flavor. It’s sweet, but not too much. Just perfect with coffee(or ice cream, or on its own). It’s also the perfect size for a small accompaniment. What really makes this a solid 4-star experience, since we have great coffee all over the place, is the staff. They were so genuinely friendly I felt very at home in the shop. The girl working was especially enjoyable and because of her I will make it a point to stop by here after my weekly acupuncture appointments a few blocks away. I don’t know what her name was but this was tuesday afternoon(yesterday) that I stopped in. Kudos to the company for hiring great staff. I’ll be back for sure.

Try cupping coffee tasting with Nossa at 12:30PM on Tuesday’s. It’s fun and educational. FREE! You’ll sample awesome brews from Nossa family Brazilian farms originating in 1890. They have stood the test of time and learned a thing or two about a good balanced cup of coffee. Nossa is also sourcing coffee from Central & South America. They work directly with farmers to ensure the best sustainable practices are employed in sourcing the highest quality of cherry’s, which are dried free of mold and harmful toxins and later roasted. Cupping coffee involves deeply sniffing the coffee, then loudly slurping the coffee so it spreads to the back of the tongue. You try to measure aspects of the coffee’s taste. How is the body and texture? Oiliness? Sweetness? Acidity(a sharp and tangy feeling, like when biting into an orange)? Aftertaste? Learn what to look for in a good cup of coffee with Nossa’s Coffee Guru Geek? Excuse me while I take a-sniff-slurp-sip-a-cup.
