Went to at least 2 different Barista locations during my week stay in PDX. Lovely lovely shop and delicious coffee!

Two thumbs up from me: friendly, quick, and the atmosphere is top notch. Hope to be back some day.

Stooped by here for a drink before shopping and walking around. We got the Oregon Hazelnut Latte both hot and cold. Although I didn’t try the hot one, my cousin and his GF were unable to finish which tells me a lot since my cousin eats/drinks pretty much anything. The cold one was better(per my cousin). I did try it too and it was pretty sweet but tasted nothing like hazelnut.

Perfect latte, and awesome customer service. Beats all Stumptown’s locations in customer service. Cheers!

Really like the rustic interior with great coffee. Cold brew is five star and vanilla latte with six star. So fur one of my most favorite coffee at portland oregon

Good coffee and a Great atmosphere. I tried the hazelnut coffee. It definitely has the essence of a nutty flavor but a bit too much for me so if that’s what you like i would definitely recommend it. Plus the location is next to the famous ice cream spot if you want to enjoy some coffee while waiting in line for ice cream.

Reviewing this for atmosphere, mostly. Coffee at all the Barista locations I’ve been to(SW3rd, NW23rd, Pearl) have been consistently good. I’m loving the seasonal hazelnut latte they’ve had for a few months. I get it with soy, and it’s so smooth and nutty. There’s wifi here, unlike the NW23rd location, but it’s dead slow. No plugs. I don’t think it’s meant for people to come and camp out. Sadly, it’s pretty much all I do. So I like this location for coming and grabbing something, not for staying. 5 stars for the coffee, 2 for the space.

I grabbed coffee here after brunch at Irving St. Kitchen. It’s a bright little spot, and they were having a busy Sunday afternoon. Even with the rush, the girl taking orders was super friendly and talkative. None of that«we’re too cool to smile» barista attitude here. My latte was excellent. The espresso had a great, strong flavor which didn’t get lost in the milk. The proportions seemed balanced, and as a bonus, the design formed in the top of the perfect microfoam was really pretty. Kudos! There are a few tables, but this seems to mostly be a «grab and go» spot as others have pointed out. If you’re lucky enough to get a seat, then it would be a pleasant place to spend some time with a book on a weekend afternoon.

This was my first stop in Portland. Conveniently located in the Pearl District but with limited seating(and some cute outdoor seating, too, for when it’s not raining!), so it’s probably better suited for grab-and-go. I came for the homemade pop tart, but they sold out just as I arrived. I consoled myself with a delicious salted chocolate chip cookie instead, and it was seriously next level. Soft, elegant, well-balanced, and delicious! The only thing that would’ve made it better would have been if they’d warmed it up before serving.

Coffee is good but the wait isn’t worth it. It’s a good place to grab and go coffee, not to sit and lounge around.

Can’t make a visit to Portland from here on out without stopping by Barista for a pick-me-up. What I like is that you get a tasty drink that looks pretty too! The vanilla latte is perfection. It’s smooth, slightly sweet, and when they serve it to you it’s finished with a beautiful tulip. In my experience, if a shop does coffee art, then you can be sure that their coffee will taste pretty darn good. The vibe is hipster and seating is sparse, but people come and go quite frequently, so if you wait a bit you’re sure to snag a table.

The roomie and I dropped by Barista for a quick cup of tea to pass the time while waiting for a nearby cider house to open up, and had a very nice time. It’s a small, cute little shop, but it’s more of a coffee-to-go place, rather than the traditional sit-and-relax coffee shop. THEHIGHLIGHTS. + Friendly, helpful staff + Absolutely fantastic hot chocolates + Small amount of seating(so snag a seat if you can!) + Delicious variety of baked goods and small bites(homemade poptarts, hello!) Worth checking out for a coffee to go if you’re in the neighborhood.

This is an upgrade from my three star review. So, I ended up going back here on an afternoon. I tried the Mocha, called Valrhona, it was extraordinary. I audibly said«WOW!» when I tasted it. Extraordinary menu item Barista, I may be liking this place more and more.

I’ve only been here once, but the coffee was much better than average. I’d certainly return if I’m in the area.

One of my Portland favorites. Excellent coffee. Their lemon seed poppy cake is AMAZING! This location is almost always busy so seating inside can be difficult to come by. Sit outside if the weather allows. The people watching is superb.

Vanilla Latte is my recommendation. Excellent smooth texture and taste without eliminating originality of coffee. Love the espresso cappuccino as well.

Majority of the comments below are exactly correct. This little hole in the wall is for the stop and go kind of day. Not much seating inside the actual coffee shop. None the less there is still that Portland swanky vibe that draws people in. Saturday and Sunday mornings beware! There WILLBE a line. You WILLHAVE to wait, and you SHOULDNOT complain about it. Staff is lovely, location is ideal, coffee is delicious as normal.

Lovely coffee place located in downtown in a brick building. I love the décor and the old building that it’s located in. There’s lots of street parking around. I ordered an almond latte and one of the pastries. The customer service here is excellent and so are their lattes. Best coffee I tried in Portland.

Their customer service is very needed in Portland. I dropped a cup of coffee off of a slippery counter, where there had been water, and they refilled the cup of coffee for free and helped me clean the mess up. The coffee is amazing! Thank you for your continued service to the Portland community, keep it going!

We came on a whim for coffee and had the iced latte. Coffee has a good flavor and strong taste. Not too much seating space, more of a grab and go. Nice option if you are in the area!

I looooove the coffee at Barista. I believe Barista, Heart, and Stumptown are my top favorite cafes in Portland! Bold statement, I know! :x Barista is located in the Gadsbury building and there is limited seating INSIDE. Only about 3 – 4 tables that seat 2, a counter next to the cashier, and 1 table that could fit 4 people. However, there is plenty of seating outside which was nice… except for rainy days and when Portland is abnormally hot. I definitely recommend the coffee here! A great place to hang out or do some work(if you can find a table). Great and friendly baristas with a cool and vibrant ambiance.

I finally had a chance to try Barista! I ordered an ice Americano. Delicious coffee! I get what the hype is all about. It doesn’t taste bitter or burnt. Customer service is great & they put a lotta love in making the coffee! Great use of their business space also. I’ll be returning no doubt!

Lovely coffee shop! Their milk is non-GMO and hormone and antibiotic free which is a bonus. Wish it was organic though. The barista made an excellent cappuccino and macchiato. The vibe is cool and hipster. We sat out on the balcony and had a nice chat with a local. Loved the atmosphere. Would recommend it to any coffee lover.

Delicious coffee! My friends & I needed a quick pick-me-up before heading back home and this place was perfect! I ordered a simple almond milk latte. which tasted amazing. The coffee was smooth! The overall shop was a little small & crowded but there is tons of seating outside! A definite recommendation if visiting from out of state

A friend(Thanks Sandy Y) recommended this place and I say cheers to ya! Tried a soy latte. Easy to drink. The roast was on the lighter side which I prefer. If it was a dark roast it was that good I drank the whole cup within minutes. Above average cup of yum! It didn’t last from register to short walk to car. I should have gotten a taller cup! Not sure what type of bean was used or what roast. Whatever it is its worth a return trip to try more.

This Barista is not the place to go if you were looking for a place to hang out in as it is a very small place. However, the coffee is the same great Barista coffee you have come to expect. The baristas are incredibly nice, and for coffee to go, this Barista is a great place to make a quick stop.

I had their latte. It was a flat white, so you know the baristas definitely know what they are doing, they are well trained. The smoothest, creamiest, latte… ever! I’d come all the way back for this. Not a lot of seating space however.

This location of Barista is great if you need a coffee on the go, but if you’re looking for an actual coffee shop, I’d recommend looking elsewhere. This place definitely feels more like a kiosk than a full shop, but that’s not a huge deal if you just want some fantastic coffee or espresso drinks and don’t plan to sit around and enjoy it. Great product, not much workspace. You could do a lot worse.
