This place was so great! I went to the Pioneer Nation conference here and it was a wonderful event space– not too big, not too small, and easy to get to via rail/​walking.

Dropped daughter off for first year of college. New dorm, Art House, opened that day. New dorm obviously very modern, apartment style with washer/​dryer, dishwasher, fridge in each apartment. Quite spare but nice for college. Classes are 8 – 9 blocks away so a bit of a trek, but plan to move all classrooms two blocks away to building under renovation. Once complete in 2015, should be quite a school. Orientation with faculty and staff impressive, small class sizes. Student body quite eclectic, but it is art school. A school on the rise.

I’ve taken several classes at PNCA, and have been very impressed by the high level of professionalism of the instructors. Classes not expensive for what you get. Don’t count on anything from the front desk person, but aside from that (which is actually kind of amusing) it’s a very good experience.

The premier art education institution in Portland. Small, contemporary, conceptual, connected. and is lead by an incredible president (Tom Manley). Wasn’t long ago this place was nearly dead, now they own the Portland art scene and don’t look like they will be looking back anytime soon.

Another school visit on my quest to figure out where I belong.
I felt totally at home here. I love the wide open spaces and the different styles of art on the wall. I didn’t feel the pretentious attitude that I’ve felt at some art schools. Pnca is at the top of my school list currently. Now my husband needs to find a job in Portland that pays similar to what he makes here in California.

I really like the large, airy space at the entrance of the main building and I really love the fact that they offer some classes and programs that no one else in Portland offers.
I have only been for a few classes and some of the exhibits, but ummm, those kids are bratty! There was always a really nice person at the front desk, but once you get past that I was surrounded by students that were well, too cool for school. F that. You’re like 19 and clueless. Here’s a lesson for ya: BE NICE.
