great friendly and honest service and the crew was willing to help my selection of shipping needs for my eBay customer, better yet they did not over dim my package like the ups store 2251 on sandy Blvd. did. Thanks crew and new crew member Patrick !

I’d love to give them a review for services rendered… Unfortunately they never picked up the phone (I tried calling three different times throughout the day) and when I stopped by, they weren’t in the store. So… I went somewhere else and they helped me in a jiffy.

helpful, friendly, fast. even if you have to wait in line a little bit it’s so much better than any corporate fedex or kinkos place. they will make sure to take great care of you when it’s your turn. small shop but everything you need and the gal that is usually working when i go in is great.

Close to my house and rarely so busy I have to wait more than 5 minutes or so, this place beats the post office hands down. The folks who own it are very friendly and unless I need to fill out a passport application or buy several different varieties of stamps, I see no reason to go stand in line at the post office. I have mailed packages and sent cards and letters from here and everything arrived in the same amount of time it would have taken had I dropped it in a mailbox. Sometimes faster, because they drive their packages directly to the airport post office! They also sell stamps (usually just one kind, normal letter rate and postcard stamps), ship Fed-​Ex, have a copy machine and a computer and a printer you can use for a fee, fax things and have a cute little selection of packaging supplies and postcards for sale. All in all a great little place!

RIP OFF for sending UPS and Fed Ex I used to like this place, but I will never return. I calculated my Fed Ex as $ 60, but when I went in to the store they wanted to charge me $ 85! So I decided to calculate a UPS package that I sent from there the day before and they upcharged me $ 40 for a $ 70 shipment had I gone to UPS myself. THEY ARE A RIP OFF and I will never step foot in there again!

I’ve had a mailbox here for a couple of years now, and also come here to mail all my packages and buy stamps, so I figure it’s about time to weigh in with my thoughts about the place. Some words that spring to mind are: comfortable, reliable, friendly, quirky, easy, inexpensive. I’ve been to the regular local post offices (ugh), and two other mailbox places (one closed down, the other’s more focused on selling wrapping paper and envelopes and things and feels like a mall store). This one, however, is a nice fit for me. The employees do a great job at the mailing/​mailbox basics, and if you even hint at needing it, going beyond the basics to help you with services or info. The packages get mailed at the price you need, from El Cheapo on up to whatever gold standard of overnight pushes your buttons. It’s simple, the way it’s supposed to be. Yes, the space is small. And there are more quirky things to buy (chattery teeth? finger puppets? Got ‘em!) than the latest full selection of wrapping paper, but this is a GOOD thing. And yes, it can get busy once in a while. On busy days you might have to accommodate the Fed Ex guy trying squeeze past you or a short line of two or three generally easygoing fellow patrons, but it’s a comfortable vibe even then. Not at all like the tense-​making post office. Jennifer knows a lot of people by name, and it’s easy to see why they keep coming back.

After reading some of the positive reviews, I had to check to make sure this was the same Postal Central on Alberta that I’ve visited several times. Here are some of my notes:
The staff veered between rude, indifferent, and reluctantly helpful at each of my visits.
The single computer means that you can wait for quite a while to print anything. One time I sat right down, another time I had to wait for 15 or 20 minutes while some dude read his emails.
The cost of a color copy is only a little cheaper per page than kinkos and is a terrible quality. Basically it’s the same as a cheap home printer.
And to top it off: My last visit I tried to print out some color sheets, that came out completely pink. I canceled my print job, and the counter person interrupted her lunch to insist that I pay a dollar for the use of the computer. Which is the only way to print anything there.
And then she asked me to recycle my pages, and seemed irritated that I couldn’t find the unlabeled recycling bin.
I guess I won’t be supporting this business anymore.

The staff here is amazing.
I went in the other day to ship some electronics back to my parents on the other side of the country. The woman spent a long time doing all the packaging for me, even staying half an hour past closing to finish it. She picked out the right size box, then picked out the right bubble-​wrap, then bubble-​wrapped everything individually and carefully, and then when it came time to weigh it and send it on its way, she ran the numbers and then actually told me I’d be better off going to the UPS store instead so I could save $ 20 on the rate. I couldn’t believe it. She even checked their hours and then drew me a map of how to get there!

Yesterday, I made photocopies at Postal Central and left my hand drawn picture of a polar bear in front of an american flag, in the machine. The woman working, Jennifer, called me a little while later and said she’d bring it to me. I was at work in Northwest! It was one of the best customer service experiences I’ve had! Thanks for going out of your way, Jennifer.
It’s true, Postal Central is a valuable part of our neighborhood in northeast.

A great story: I had left the memory card from my camera at Postal Central by accident. The owner found a way to view the photos, found an employee who thought they recognized me, called the wrong person by accident, dropped BY MY PLACE (!), and called me twice, finally reaching me to notify me that my memory card was waiting at the front desk, with a printout of my picture so it would be easy to find.
My faith in humanity is at an all time high!
I’ve been here many times before, as well, and always found the staff very helpful, friendly and funny.

This place is tiny and cramped, making it difficult to maneuver around one or two other patrons.
But the service is friendly, well not actually friendly, but helpful.
I think the employee there is very accustomed to thanking everyone for their patience as it seemed to be an automatic, almost robotic phrase spoke at the beginning and end of each transaction. And rightly so.
I had the misfortune of trying to send a package at the same time as four other customers, and due to the limited space available, it turned into quite an ordeal.

Been here once. They were great and let me fax something even though they had already closed for the day.

I loathe standing in long lines under the depressing flourescent lights at the post office to buy stamps or mail packages off. The whole process seems to put me on edge.
And because of my aversion to big Post Offices, it’s only fitting that I would like Postal Central. What a treat to go to an independent neighborhood store to buy stamps, send packages, make photocopies and send and receive packages.
Running errands just got a lot more pleasant.
