My new favorite bar to hang at! $ 7 for a tasting flight of 5 ciders! This is a cider lovers paradise. Plus you can bring food in or order from their small menu. It has a great atmosphere and the service was awesome. I will be returning, very soon.

The flights and staff walked me through many options, now I know exactly what I like & feel confident when I order and purchase cider.

Fun concept, this is definitely needed in Perth! With cider a «new» option for those that don’t want beer or spirits it was amazing to see just how many flavours are on tap and the tasting paddle allows you so much more choice. Such as grapefruit, stone fruits, cherry and all the apples and so on. The service was considerably slow, not sure why as there weren’t many in there but I had no where to be. It would be fun to go with another and get 2 or 3 paddles to really get a hit of the menu. Totally affordable as well and luckily in close proximity to food.

SOLOUD! There are lots of things to love about the Portland Cider House, but the noise is not one of them. During the day, when it’s not busy its tolerable, but at night all the hard surfaces, floors, walls, windows, etc., reflect sounds back like it is going out of style and the noise inside reaches painful levels. I was in for 15 minutes last night around 5:30 and this morning around 10:30 my ears still hurt. Some soft/noise-absorbent ceiling or wall panels could really help a girl and her cochleas out. TL;DR: Don’t come to the Portland Cider House on a Saturday night unless you are prepared to lose some of your hearing PERMANENTLY. Otherwise, great place.

I was SUPER impressed with the Portland Cider House. I went in mid-October with 2 close friends and their 2 daughters(5 and 6). It was just as they were opening for the day and we were the first customers; however, I really enjoyed the bartender. He was friendly, good with the girls, and helpful with suggestions. I enjoyed the décor with the funky portland art, and the wood plank tables. There were lots of games to play, and it was nice that it was kid friendly without being a child place. Aside from the huge selection available, I think the best part was the flight of 5 tasters(any on the menu, no exceptions), for 7 $. We also got the chips and salsa, and the salsa was very fresh and had a great kick to it.

HUGE cider selection and friendly staff. It was a little too bright for me on a Friday night :) But it was fun place to meet up with friends. If you like cider this is definitely the place for you!

This place was a fun place to meet friends for a weeknight catch up get together. They have a good selection of ciders, and being a girl who actually doesn’t really like sweet stuff(dark chocolate is for winners!), I fancied the London Dry Gin cider. Has all the unique flavors of gin, but made with apples. You can also get a flight of ciders where you pick… or ask them to pick for you. People in our party did both and got some great selections. They have a small food menu, but you can also bring whatever you want in with you. Located in th heart of Hawthorne, that leaves a lot of great choices. What a great perk!

We initially planned on going to another cider place after dinner, but it turned out to be closed! This place had pretty good reviews, so we went here instead. The tasting menu is great here, 5 ciders for only $ 7! They also have a wide selection of ciders and descriptions by each. The service was a little awkward though, maybe because my friends and I aren’t big on drinking… but the waitress seemed pretty confused when I told her we don’t really drink cider too often and to help explain the wide selection of cider, etc. In addition, I think everyone around us got their own flight, but we split one tasting for 4 of us. We tried more of the sweeter ones, but the clear winner was the Sorta Sweet. TLDR: Love the tasting menu, would come here again with friends!

ANYTHINGWITHCIDER just taste so good. Their staff here is super nice. They have lots to choose from so I was able to try some samples and narrow down my selection.

What an awesome place! Usually, when I go to a taphouse I have 4 or 5 choices(because I drink cider, not beer). Imagine my surprise as I’m walking down Hawthorne and see an establishment devoted entirely to cider. It’s refreshing to see a place like this, especially since there are a lot of people out there who can’t drink beer because of diet restrictions. There is a fantastically diverse selection of ciders to choose from. I opted for the sampler and got ciders with Whiskey, Mojito, Black Currant, and even Chai. Something for every cider enthusiast. The atmosphere is comfortable and welcoming. In fact, I got a great vibe right when I walked through the door. The icing on the cake is that the staff are terrific. Friendly, knowledgeable, and fun(Thanks Jenny, Mason, and Jillian!).

I love me a good tap room, and oh man, this is one of the best! So many amazing cider options to try, and I am all about taster trays! The staff here is great, and incredibly patient when I was taking forever to pick my 5 ciders for my flight. Never rushing me, even offering me suggestions, and tiny tastes to ease my mind about the ones I didn’t pick. Being a tap room with a limited menu, they also allow you to bring your own food in. I recommend grabbing a waffle at the Waffle Window, a taster flight at Portland Cider House, then tucking in with a board game and good company. This is Portland living at its finest. Oh, pro-tip, if you need to use the bathrooms, the keys are hanging on the wall just to the left of the bathrooms, and each one has a different fruit on it. Match the fruit on the key to the fruit on the door… then BOOM! Bathroom! This may seem like a non-issue, but I have seen many people get frustrated trying to open the pear door with the apple key… ;)

This place is great! ~28 ciders on tap, including a handful of their own and some guests. Portland Cider’s Pearfect Perry is a really great pear cider. Only $ 7 for a flight of 5 ciders! Really great service, with staff who is quite knowledgeable about cider and delighted to help you find what you like. Really fun environment(with trivia cards scattered everywhere), beautiful art on the walls, and long wooden tables with plenty of seating(though this place is normally packed).

Mmmmmm cider: D I can’t wait to go back! They have so many different ciders on their menu, it’s crazy! What is super cool is that you can get a pretty good sized flight for only $ 7! Yay! They do have some foods there but the menu is pretty limited… They don’t have a kitchen just a microwave so we ended up ordering from another restaurant and bringing food in, which they encourage! They even have menus from restaurants on their block. And YES you can get growlers filled here. Kind of expensive, but not crazy. YOu can also buy growlers there. They have really pretty white ones or you can be a sucker like me and get the heavy duty stainless steal ones that will keep your cider cold for a few days! I got it and yes it was $ 35, but I LOVE it! I took it camping with me that weekend and my Cider stayed cold!

This stop in our trip was probably the star of Portland. On our second night in Portland, we wanted to try this cider house after eying it on our first day there. We walked from the house we were staying a hand full of blocks away and ended up on Hawthorne. This place was really cool place to get a taste of Portland. It wasn’t as crowded when we arrived which was nice as we got seated right away and began ordering our drinks. It eventually got busier and louder as the night progressed. The staff here is really nice and helpful. One of the staff here has her work up on the wall. Pretty talented artist. The bathrooms here are really clean and nice. +1. They have a large selection of ciders. What I liked was that there were little image indicators that showed you how much of the cider was left on tap and which ones were still available. Pretty cool. The first time I was there, I got a flight of cider to try and a glass of one of their ciders. They were all very good and had a lot of flavor to them. I wanted a taste of Portland and its ciders and I received that here. We liked the cider here so much that we eventually came back at the end of our trip and got a growler of hard cider. Price was decent. I don’t think there’s food here but there are pretty much food places all over Hawthorne. It’s a good place to come and just chill and drink. There are also card games one can play at their table. I’m a fan and if I were to come to Portland again, I’d definitely hit up this place again.

Portland Cider House is awesome! I stopped by with a few other girls because we were walking around on Hawthorne and passed by this place. We’ve all never done a cider tasting before so we got two tasting flights($ 7 each) between the four of us, which allowed us to try 10 different options. We started picking the ones that sounded good, but had a hard time picking 10. The gentleman working that day was SO helpful and friendly. He explained what the different symbols on the menu meant and helped us narrow down our choices based on what type of flavors we usually like. My favorite by far was The Guardian Angel, which had blueberry & pomegranate flavors. I also liked Apple Cider, which is an off-dry apple cider. Some of the girls liked Honey Ginger(ginger apple cider), but I’m not a huge fan of ginger so I didn’t care for it. There’s no food here, but there are a lot of places to eat nearby so it’s a good post-meal spot to grab a drink. There’s lots of seating for small or large groups and they even have a bunch of board/card games that you can play while you’re there. If you’re someone who likes cider, you should definitely check this place out. Or if you’re someone who doesn’t know if they like cider, you should come here to find out if you do!

27 ciders and 1 mead on tap!!! We found so many favorites. This was the largest selection of cider on tap we had seen locally. Even better is that Portland Cider Co. tastes are served next to the best in cider list. We were lamenting that we forgot our growler at home. Nice to see cider is getting the respect of local beer taprooms. We loved the Portland Cider Company’s Cider House on Hawthorn Blvd. This is how it broke down: 6 Portland Cider Co. of Oregon City Brews. 26 ciders were local and from Oregon and Washington State 1 cider from U.K. 1 Oregon mead $ 7 for 5 Taste Flight We ordered 2 sets. First was the recommended cider from the friendly staffmember. The others were our curiosities. We loved cider from both sets. The favorites were: Swift Dank Hop, Portland Cider Pearfectly Pear, Apple Outlaw Ginger Bite, Schilling Pom-Cranberry, and Finnriver Black Current. Glad we beat the possible upcoming Cider Week crowd. We can’t wait to return to Portland Cider House.

Looking all shiny and new, this cider bar has some serious options going on. Prepare to take a few minutes to read the electronic menu — with helpful notes and info on the large range — before placing your order. Have to say that as lovers of dry cider over sweet we didn’t fall In love with any of the dry ones we tried(just not as crisp as what we’re used to) but sweet cider lovers are sure to find a few new faves. Found the staff so nice and helpful, with free small tastes to help us pick our next drink, and lots of great general Portland travel tips given out too. A very nice way to relax after spending hours browsing through all the nearby vintage stores!

28 ciders on tap! I love Portland Cider’s ciders ever since they came into the market a few years ago. They have a taproom in Oregon City, but it’s in Oregon City. So I was happy to hear they opened another one in town! Using DigitalPour, you can see all the available ciders, ABV and prices for 8oz, 16oz and growler fill. Don’t know what you want? They have 5 — 2oz samples for $ 7. Growler fills starts at $ 14. They don’t make food, but allow outside food and some menus are available at the bar to give you ideas on what to order. With this and Carte Blanche & Gonzo a few blocks away, I’m in heaven :)
