The Plaid Pantry on Going Street is above average for this chain of Pacific Northwestern convenience stores. They are stacked as if they are one of the nicer Jackson’s out there. They have pork rib sandwiches, all kinds of candy, snacks and loads of beverages.
I walked in and got freeze dried apples. They were only $ 1.19. The transaction was smooth and quick. This location is also just off the light rail.

Other than for hosting the Subway shoppe in-​house, this store gets a huge boost based on the strength of a conversation I had with one particular clerk here: We were discussing the amazing phenomenon that is «Busted» Magazine (the finest and «hardest hitting» mug shot weekly in the nation!), and this guy actually told me his New Year’s Resolution last year was to NOT wind up in «Busted» magazine! That was it! That was the highest goal he would allow himself to dare to dream possible.
He very proudly pointed out that he KEPT his New Year’s Resolution. Alas, it’s a new year, fraught with new perils, along with much of the same old, same old perils…
Now THAT is what Chris Rock would call a «Low-​expectation-​havin’ mo-​fo…»
