WALNUTS+HONEY+CARDAMOM+CORIANDER= CREPEPERFECTION We stopped by on our way to san francisco and had to re route so i could grab it again on our way back to Vancouver. I never knew crepes could be this good! I would describe it at as a perfect dessert or snack size, spiced to perfection with subtle sweetness and crunch of the walnuts.

The Perierra Crêperie cart at the Cartopia food cart pod was where I first started appreciating crêpes a few years ago. I went there quite often for awhile until it occurred to me that their prices were a bit high.. .as high as for crêpes in many sit down restaurants. Anyway, I went back there today for the first time in a long time and got one of their hand-held crêpes. Well, the ham and Gruyère crêpe I got just seemed very plain tasting.. .it wasn’t as flavorful or savory as most of the crêpes I’ve had at other places. It just didn’t have any«oomph». I guess my tastes have evolved since the first time I went to Perierra.

I’ve had way better crepes. I had a fruit crêpe with honey. First, I couldn’t even taste the honey. I had maybe half a banana(or a really small one) and maybe 3 strawberries. If the crêpe was small I could understand but the crepes are pretty big. They fold the crêpe and put it in paper, I guess to avoid having to buy plates and utensils, which I thought was a good idea until I tried to eat the crêpe. It was ok until I was half way done and the crêpe was so soggy that I had to just eat it with my fingers. My husband had the chicken, avocado, bacon crêpe. He said it tasted really good however he did bite into a pretty big chicken bone. The service was ok. Honestly, I don’t see the big fuss about food carts. The area smelled like trash and I like to wash my hands before I eat. Thankfully I had hand sanitizer. Also, maybe the crêpe cooks could wear gloves.

I had a perfectly fine crêpe, and while I am not from the area and can not speak to the other establishments I want to disagree with customers who found the women behind the counter the be standoffish. Yes it took a while to make the crepes; that will happen when your product is in demand and there are two people working. But I wholeheartedly disagree with the attitude comments. Before reading Unilocal reviews of this place, I watched the woman preparing my food. I commented to my friend that it looked as if she knew the crêpe was going to turn out well; she was holding back a smile and was moving her hands back and forth with a deliberate care that comes with artistry and knowing how to make something. Fan-status for her attitude!

This is usually my last stop during my Cartopia food cart tour at this food pod. I have a major sweet tooth so I haven’t tried much of the savory crepes. A couple of my favorites are the strawberry, cream cheese, and honey(beware! you can find yourself in a sticky situation pretty quick!), Nutella and banana(if you don’t like Nutella, we can’t be friends), and cinnamon, sugar, and butter. I don’t know why, but sometimes my sweet crepes are just way too salty. I don’t know if sea salt is added or not to the Nutella crepes, but I’ve experienced the same thing with the strawberry crêpe as well. For savory crepes, I’ve only had the ham and gruyère with an added egg. It was soooooo good! Be mindful, when they say it will be messy that it will be EXTREMELY messy! I left with egg yolk all over my pants. I’m not even mad, it was worth it. The other crepes sound mighty tasty too, but can’t pass up on getting a little of everything from the other carts. Plus, I don’t think I can finish a savory and sweet crêpe all in one sitting. Service is a tad slow, not complaining, just putting it out there. There are some people who work here that are nicer than others. There was one time where someone who worked there was eyeballing my friend for the whole duration we were there, it made for an uncomfortable eating experience.

Yeah, you’re gonna want to head a little further east on Hawthorne to Chez Machin for an entire restaurant devoted to crepes. La Pereira has always had shitty service, that’s nothing new but the crepes have gone downhill considerably over the past two years. The only reason to go here is either 1) you’re too drunk to care 2) your standards of service are too low to care about the girls behind the counter bitching about the customers 3) you like hairs in your food or 4) are somehow teleported out of the desert after 4 months of no food or water and land right in front of the only cart in this pod that happens to be open and also happens to be giving away someone else’s unwanted crêpe. Or a combination of all 4. Seriously, Chez Machin is just up the street and way better.

We came to Tahrir Square for dinner and while my wife had the quarter plate from Chicken and Guns(which was delicious!), I decided to try out the savory crêpe with bacon and dates. The crêpe was a tad too sweet for my taste, too many dates, but overall it was flavorful. It is also hard to justify a place which accepts cash only in this age of Square! Overall, mostly satisfied, but given the other amazing options in the same square, it will be hard for me to return.

I have to say, I was pleasantly impressed and surprised by the crêpe I had here. Not only was it packed with Nutella and bananas, but it reminded me of crepes I’ve had in Paris. I found the service to be nice too. Based on the other reviews, it sounds like there may be some inconsistency. I’ve only eaten here once, but it was really good. Well done guys!

Ordered the gorgonzola with honey and walnuts. It was alright, nothing I couldn’t live without. The cheese was overpowering and I couldn’t taste much else after the first bite. The girls at the counter were less than enthused and didn’t really offer any help with the ordering process.

I came here very late once. Traveling by public transport from work in St. Johns to home downtown. Had to be around 1am. The line was super crowded… more so than the other carts. But its no complaint, that is to be expected on a weekend night and it just means the place is popular! I would give it 5 stars but I can only give it 4 because all I had was the Lavender Honey shake, not a crêpe. But if I were rating the shake on its own, I would give it 5 stars! It tasted just how you’d expect Lavender to taste. It wasnt sickly sweet and wasnt a dark purple color which would signal a lot of artificial flavor. Im guesing they dont use artifical flavoring or color since the shake was a natural color… but I dont know that for sure. It tasted natural and wasnt packed with sugar… any sweetness probably comes from the ice cream they use to make the shake. The honey was a nice touch too. Will probably post an update when I get a crêpe.

I have never received worst customer service then the service I received Saturday night from Meg and another girl working at Perierra Creperie on SE Hawthorne. They were entitled, rude, and unaccommodating. Customer service seemed to be the last thing on their mind. After ordering four crepes we went back and tried to order an additional milk shake but their only concern was«whether we had the exact change.» I have heard the end product is good, but the service was so bad we had to cancel our entire order and did not get to try our crepes. I highly recommend seeking out a different crêpe maker. Me and my friends will never be going back.

When my friends were raving about their sweet crepes. I wondered what the big deal is! But this is the best I have ever had. Freshly made hot crepes loaded with Nutella banana and strawberry is out of the world! It might get little too sweet after a while. I would suggest share it. I also got the golden graham shale but it was too thick to be even called as a malt

So I love the crepes here, and honestly they are the only reason I come back. Everyone who works here is rude, stand offish, and God forbid they mess up your order, because that would be YOUR fault. Well I’ll come back for the food if I’m in the hood, but definitely never for the company. Maybe one day they’ll hire someone who doesn’t hate their job. Or everyone in general.

Crepes are amazing! So good. –1 point for how long it takes to serve. With no patrons I once waited a near 45mins for my food. Crepes make the wait worth it only occasionally, but seriously so good!

i didn’t like my mushroom spinach crêpe very much, but not because it wasn’t well made or anything… i suppose today just happened to be the day i found savory crepes are Nasty. my friend got herself a banana peanut-butter chocolate crêpe, and that was really delicious! my friend says she prefers soft crepes, but i like the crispness of the crepes from here. what knocks this place down a star is the hot chocolate they gave us. there was Really Gross And Unappealing chunks of chocolate inside of the hot chocolate? every sip i took, a chunk of chocolate placenta would go into my mouth. As a small business owner myself, who uses the(very reasonable) «Square» for merchant services, my only guess is that the owner doesn’t want to report all the money they’re making. Cash only is silly in this day and age; there are many affordable options for merchant services. Anyway, if you have cash on hand, a half hour to stand around in the rain, and the desire to be treated like you’re an inconvenience, you should totally go here! The milkshakes are amazing!

Grab some dollar bills and get yourself something fun! Peanut butter and banana fantastic orgasmic late-night snack for a few dollars hit the spot, with more savory options and plenty of truly sweet dessert choices to be made as well. There isn’t much else to say here — the service consists of someone pouring crêpe batter on a hot plate, and adding your ingredients. And they hand you the finished product. Find a seat at a picnic table and devour.

I’ve visited the Creperie twice. The first time, I was faced with a very cold, very judgmental appearing woman. I disregarded her outwardly standoffish vibes and proceeded to order a crêpe with cardamom and walnut. The consistency of the crêpe was good, but I wasn’t a huge fan of the cardamom. Disregarding my first visit, I decided to come back for a Nutella banana crêpe a couple weeks later. To my surprise, there was another equally as cold, equally as standoffish young woman working. I don’t know how a person could appear so unhappy working at a creperie! This time, the crêpe was not worth the terrible customer service and SIXDOLLAR price. It was crispy. It resembled a tortilla. If I wanted a Nutella banana quesadilla, I would have made one myself. For free. Friends of mine who’ve also visited the Creperie do mention the unfriendly employees, but maybe it depends on who’s working. Anyways, maybe try the PB&J cart on the other side of Cartopia.

This is probably our favorite food cart. I can’t say I’ve had too many of the sweet ones, but the savory crepes are fantastic. It’s also amazing that they offer gluten free crepes now. The ingredients always seem fresh, and the wait(as they make them on the spot) is always worth it. We definitely try to stop here whenever we are out late in Portland.

Shakes that aren’t blended to drinkable consistency. Bitchy service. Pointlessly greasy crepes featuring undercooked ingredients. All for above average prices. Plus, it’s cash only b/c, «Why do shit entirely on the books?» What a winner. The giant rubber duck deserves a better home.

Not a bad place to get a late night snack. They break down their menu into sweet crepes and savory crepes. Fortunately at the time I was here, I had not yet tried Voodoo so my ability to take in sugar had not been obliterated yet, so I went for a sweet crêpe. Chocolate and pear was pretty tasty, though I wish they could actually provide thicker slices of pear. They cut the fruit really thinly so you don’t really get much of the pear taste, and the majority of the flavor is the chocolate. But it still makes a nice warm treat to enjoy while sitting outdoors at the late night pod.

Crepes are one of my favorite things to eat. I was delighted when I found a crêpe cart near where I live. Me and my boyfriend would get food here at least once or twice a week! We decided to get breakfast here this morning because he loves the savory crepes. We arrive at about 8:15(we read online that they open at 8am) We got here and they weren’t open yet, they weren’t even at the cart yet! The girl arrives a couple minutes after and says it will take another 10 minutes to open and begin our order. So now we ended up waiting about another 20 minutes just to order. Also, the crepes also don’t have as much filling as other crêpe carts I’ve been to around Portland. Pretty disappointing that they can’t even open on time, let alone 30 minutes late. Won’t be back. UPDATE: WEFOUNDTWOFUCKINGHAIRSINMYBOYFRIENDSSAVORYCREPE. Worst place ever. So disgusting.

I’ve visited this food cart several times over the last year between appointments near Hawthorne. I have a major sweet tooth, so I always get a sweet crêpe – either Nutella and banana or something with berries. The first few times the crepes were awesome: hot, chewy, lots of filling. This last time though, I think they must have over-cooked it or added sea salt or something. Parts of the banana Nutella crêpe were as salty as a potato chip. Had to take off one star for that. Hopefully, it’s an anomaly.

This use to be my absolute favorite spot of crepes! It seems like in the past 2 years it’s been at a steady decline. The past few times we’ve ordered crepes they’ve been skimping on the stuffings! The first time we noticed we just brushed it off. Then we noticed a second time, third time, fourth time. And this last time I took a friend here for the first time. It was around 645/7pm. It was pretty slow, no line when I ordered. My friend & I waited 45MINUTES& watched 2 others that ordered after us get their crepes. Now I know it takes a bit for them to make the crêpe – especially if they’re busy. But they were not slammed at all. Apparently the girl who took our order was so eager for her break that she failed to bring our order to the next employees attention. After 30 mins I finally went up to see how far along our order was. She was sweet & apologetic & told me just that– that the girl who took our order didn’t tell her we had an order & that she does this all the time. WHAT?! SERIOUSLY?! Well then correct her on this or fire her because it’s not cool & could cost you customers. For some reason they’ve been skimping on the fillings. I loved the plantain crêpe when I first ordered it. Flavorful & oozing with goodness & dulce de leche. The last few were just dry & caca. I think it just depends on who is making it. That sucks though. I wish they’d all be on the same page on making the crepes. Now it’s a hit & miss I hope they correct this, especially the inattentive employees. That’s just annoying & not right.

So, usually this is my favorite crêpe and milkshake place in town. I tell all my friends to go here and try to eat here at least once a month. But, today was my worst experience EVER! And I don’t think I will go back. I spent $ 30 on two salmon crepes and two mint Oreo milkshakes. When I got the milkshakes they were all milk. I sent them back(which is something I never do) and explained how I usually come for the amazing milkshakes. She took them back and said she would fix them. As I was waiting I ate my crêpe. The crêpe had something hard in it that taste horrible. I looked at my crêpe noticed it was the avocado skin! I got my milkshakes back, and they were the same– still just milk! Then, my friend ate his crêpe and it had an even large piece of avocado skin and also had the hard piece of the avocado stem! Seriously! Biggest waste of $ 30, plus the tip I gave too :’((((

There are a large selection of sweet and savory crepes at this old school Cartopia cart, but I have to say that I’ve enjoyed my crepes at other carts in the area more. It all comes down to the cooking style, which is almost always crispy rather than soft. This isn’t just one time, but a regular occurrence. When I return from a trip to Europe, I go on a bit of a crêpe binge, since it is one of the most popular and affordable street foods on the continent. The cart at my local Oregon City farmer’s market, Crêpe’s Plus at Cartlandia and Kat’s Crepes at Bridgeport all hit the spot when my crêpe craving hits. I tend to order savory crepes more often, especially for breakfast, but I’ve had better experiences going sweet here. The best crêpe I’ve ordered here is probably a late night Nutella and strawberry. My least favorite was a soprasetta combo. Oh well, there are plenty of other tasty carts in this pod.

The flavors can be a little crazy sometimes but… the avocado, turkey, bacon, cream cheese is AWESOME. It is the perfect blend of creamy, salty, and meaty. Oh, so good. If I could figure out how to make crepes at home, it would save me a bit of time and money but for now, I will return here when I feel the need hit.

Personally I thought the crêpe was super hard to eat… it was wrapped in paper but it was so messy! They’re probably being environmentally friendly by avoiding plates and forks. My bf and I shared the lemon/strawberry crêpe and it was ok… it was super tart. I probably would not come back…

Listen, I’m not exactly eager to drop $ 6 on a bloody milkshake. But when you carve out batshit-insane options like Lavender & Honey, how am I supposed to resist? JUSTTAKEALLMYMONEY. Fair warning– it’s slow here. Like, reaaaaaaally slow. If there’s two people in line ahead of you, prepare to wait 20 minutes for your crêpe. But it’s(probably) worth it.

Yum! What unique flavors. Our crêpe was a good way to top of our meal with something sweet. * Walnut + honey + cardamom + coriander — 4 stars pic: Soft crêpe, strong cardamom, subtle sweetness, and light floral flavors. It all went really well together!
