Mmmm, big salads. Can’t go wrong with the Cobb or Big Nosh.

Don’t be fooled! Their name does not indicate the size of the food whatsoever. The items on the menu are not little bites, they are full on meals, and you WILL get what you pay for. I ordered their special for the day, tuna sandwich, and it was delicious! It came out HOT(and not soggy on one side from sitting) and perfectly grilled. It’s a great place to stop for lunch if you’re headed to OMSI for the afternoon.

I absolutely LOVE Nosh! I eat here almost every day. For breakfast I get the egg sandwich with sausage on an everything bagel with cheddar cheese and tomatoes… can you say YUM! I wait all week for the Italian Grinder which is easily my favorite, although the Reuben and the tuna melt are also superb. Love the owners to death and love to hear about their goats:-). There’s always something groovadelic playing… what can I say… Nosh rocks my wooly socks! There’s only one thing that could maybe improve and that’s to have a dark roast as one of the drip coffee options. I think they must be light or medium roasts. Love you guys!

Came for breakfast, didn’t realize how expensive it was, and the service was slow. Coffee was unbelievably terrible, I don’t care if it’s from Oblique or the supermarket — no coffee should ever be so weak, burnt, and expensive. The food was alright, but we didn’t get our drinks until the food was already gone. When I tried to return the coffee, of which I had a few sips, the server acted like it was MY fault, and made no attempt to compensate the wasted(expensive) cup. Won’t be going back, but I will be telling others NOT to go in the first place.

I’m lucky to work just down the street from Nosh and we eat there all the time. LOVE Melissa and the crew, and their food is delicious. The chili is addictive and the sandwiches are perfect. One of the best breakfast burritos in town, but I’ll warn you that that they will fill you up for most of the day. It’s a great little place!

My friend Teresa Collins, see below, turned me on to this place. She would post about it on Facebook so I decided to give them a try. I usually get their NOSH Box Lunch and have never been disappointed. I like the ham sandwich which comes with your choice of bread, and a few mustards to choose from. The box also comes with potato chips, pickle slice, and a perfectly sized cookie to top it all off. Everything from the quality of ingredients to the friendly waitstaff, I give this place an A+.

My favorite little lunch place has been discovered! Or at least it appears that way. The past couple times I’ve entered to find a lively scene during lunch. That makes me very happy! Still hoping for a line out the door for them. Their Cobb Salad rocks my world; it comes with a buttery slice of Portland French sourdough which classifies it as comfort food. Also love the cupcake offerings of the day. They are miniature which makes them more affordable for the wallet and the waistline. everything is fresh and delicious. Plus the owner is a sweatheart.

Cute lunch place in Portland near an industrial district. I LOVED my delicious club sandwich, although Hubby wasn’t as big a fan of his meatball sandwich(I think that’s what he ordered? He ended up eating the rest of mine). The woman at the counter was very friendly. The vibe of the place was very much what I imagined Portland to be like– an «Organic» sticker over the bathroom door… grafiti-like hippie décor… local band posters everywhere. It was charming.

This is my second time having a sandwich from this place, I think I am done. I had the Nosh BLT and it was VERY dry. I guess I didn’t think it was necessary to have your BLT be a triple decker.

I agree with Matthew S. It was great when NOSH opened it’s doors down the street from work. The sandwiches, salad, soups, desserts are all delicious and the owners are super nice! Very glad to see it has lasted for YEARS now!

Nosh rocks! Come Hungry! I work on the westside but one of our vendors took me here for lunch when we had a meeting at their office a few blocks away, am I glad they did. Whenever I find myself with time to spare and am in the area I always stop for the club sandwhich.

When I got a job in the SE industrial district a little over three years ago, there weren’t a whole lot of lunch options within walking distance of my office. After a little exploring, I stopped in at Nosh. l was instantly made to feel welcomed by the Melissa and Jay(the owners/staff) and given the run-down on the specials of the day. The Nosh Box lunch, consisting of the sandwich of the day, chips, pickle, and cookie, is easily the best deal in the area(was $ 5 at the time, has recently gone up to $ 6 but still a good deal). Aside from the specials(which are written up on the chalkboard daily, including the daily sandwich, soups, and plate) there’s also a solid menu of other sandwiches, salads, even breakfast fare such as bagel sandwiches and burritos. The counter displays the daily baked goods. Everything is made fresh with quality ingredients and open to customizations. Bread comes in from local bakeries, the other baked goods are hand-made by the owners. If you find yourself in the SE7th area, stop in and give it a try. One of the most pleasant, friendly, and tasty places that I have been to, and will keep returning to.

This is a great spot for lunch, work, coffee, whatever. They are always playing great music and everyone who comes in appears to be very happy, as there is a sort of neighborhood/family vibe to the thing. This is especially great since it sits in the middle of SE industrial area. Many of the people who work in the warehouses, manufacturing plants, repair shops, etc… come in for lunch and are regulars. A very friendly staff and affordable delicious lunch. Check it out.

Friendly, fast staff. Tasty food. My favorite reasonably healthy lunch option in the neighborhood.

This little place has great food, but the service is what made it an exceptional experience. I was driving a tour bus to House Spirits across the street and parked right outside Nosh. I was absolutely starving and only had a few minutes to find some food and cram it down my throat before the next part of the tour. I ran in and asked what the quickest thing to order would be, and in about a minute and a half I had a huge deli sandwich ready for me. There were orders in front of me and everything but the awesome lady behind the counter made me a priority. The sandwich was delicious, but the macaroni salad was better than most I’ve had. Thanks again to the great people at Nosh!

I finally made it across the river at lunch to check out Nosh, which I’ve heard about and now I know why. I tried the Nosh Club… what a sandwich! I usually don’t order clubs because the toasted bread ends up cutting the roof of your mouth up, but that was not true here. When the sandwhich came out I was in awe… it was huge! Plenty of turkey and bacon along with some fresh lettuce and cheese. I wasn’t sure how I was going to get my mouth around it, but I managed. It was so tasty! Your sandwich comes with your choice of side between chips, mac salad or potato salad. Or you can upgrade with soup, which I think I might do next time because the tomato soup looked amazing! They also have a boxed lunch special each day which changes and is only $ 6. Nice, friendly people working and great food, I can’t ask for more.

First off I love eating out. I do it very often and try to always try a new place. So I’m almost qualified to write a review. Second, since Nosh(luckily) is one of the only options near my work I’ve had a chance to try everything on the menu(including pretty much every special that’s been offered, which btw, hopefully you will walk in when they make the Pulled Pork Sandwich Special with Coleslaw on it. Yummy!). In my opinion Nosh has the one of the best(if not the best) Meatball Sandwich, Spinach Salad(get it with Chicken), Vegetarian Breakfast Burrito(very cheap), French Dip, Veggie Sandwich, Butternut Squash Soup and Reuben(and Vegetarian Reuben) in town. Daily they have a Nosh Box which is a full meal with a different sandwich option each day and it’s only 4.95.(My favorite Sandwich is the Sliced Chicken with the Horseradish Mayo). The portions are nice, the service is quick, the staff is kind, and the price is as good as it gets around these parts. They also have mexican Coke! (I think they close at 3)

What a fun little sandwich/soup shop! This place was a nice place to get lunch, and to take in a little bit of the wet, gray(& beautiful) Portland day. I ordered the Southwestern sandwich, which was good, but the winter squash soup was delicious and definitely hit the spot. Complaints: The décor was a little bit drab, and I would have loved some tunes to listen to while I was noshin’ away.

First and foremost, I love the word«nosh». Like saying I’m going to go nosh with the ladies or asking guests if they’d like a little nosh with their bubbly. I’m not even sure if that’s the correct usage, but it sounds ok to me… So naturally, I was excited about finally trying this little café on 7th, right smack in the middle of about a hundred businesses that desperately need a spot like this. My dining companion and I were in the mood for one thing and one thing only today: soup and salad. And we were in luck! Under six bucks for a cup of tasty vegetable(they also had clam chowder available today) soup and a salad, served with a fat hunk of very good sourdough, overly-buttered, just the way it should be. That price is a-ok with me. I did not try a sandwich today, but saw many at other tables and they all looked great. Entrée salads and sandwiches are about 8 bucks and a there’s a daily box lunch(deli sandwich, chips, pickle, cookie) for $ 4.95. That’s a recession special right there. It’s not super gourmet. It’s not a deli. It’s good, old-fashioned basic lunch eats and coffees at good prices and quickly served. One con I hate to point out but I must was the bathroom. I’m really not too squeamish about bathrooms but for a cutesy lil lunch café– come on, peeps, let me introduce you to a fabulous product: Comet. It was really bad. Other than that, though, we had a good time– the service was very friendly, our food came out of the kitchen lickety split, and hit the spot. I will definitely try Nosh again, as I often find myself in that area around stomach-grumblin’ time.
