Great experience. They agreed to my request for a German Chocolate cake even though it wasn’t on their menu, as that is what my mother wanted to celebrate her 81st birthday. Not cheap but my mother said it was her best yet so very much a success. Also when I went in to order the cake I got the quiche and cheddar/bacon biscuit which were delicious.

Great pastry, great folks working there and it’s connected to a butcher shop and restaurant. What’s not to like? They make their own version of familiar pastry like a cream puff with maple cream custard. Delicious. They have warm apple cider. They also have quiche and breakfast burritos. Entrance is wheelchair accessible.

I just ate pink lady apple pie and I can tell that every component of the pie was given very careful attention! The crust alone was so fine, and no soggy bottoms. The fruit was cooked just right, and the sauce was so smooth. Also the decaf espresso was a pleasure to drink? So good!

Stumbled across this neighborhood gem and fell in love. The guy behind the counter was super sweet, helpful and offered up some easy conversation. The music in the background was at just the right volume: loud enough to enjoy but soft enough that it wasn’t distracting and could easily fade into background. I had my laptop so I ordered a yummy cup of coffee and sat down. Everyone who came in and out of that place seemed to be regulars, and seemed to love the place. From where I sat I had a perfect view of their case of pastries — they looked so good!!! But since I had already eaten I told myself to wait till next time I came to try any of those. It wasn’t easy but I did it — yay me! :) During my visit I got SO much work accomplished, had a tasty cup of coffee, saw my share of eye candy AND all a short walk away from home. YAY!!! I’m looking forward to my next visit to this place!

Okay. Almost all of the baristas here that I’ve come into contact with were pretty nice and welcoming. There’s only one that seems a bit rude. so that’s a plus. Now the minus. I’ve tried so many times to like this place for coffee. I’ve been there many times now and I’ve never left satisfied. Their chai is not good at all, not sure what they use. So I tried the honey latte, wayyyyyy too sweet. It was like honey and milk. Thennnnn I tried the iced coffee and it was basically watered down coffee. I feel like they should stick to bakery items and just regular coffee. I just moved here a month ago and have had all these experiences so these aren’t little build up’s over a long time.

This place was so nice! Great service, comfy, and the best breakfast burrito I have ever had. I stayed three hours while my car was fixed at Dean’s Auto Care nearby.

The folks here are just swell, biggest smiles around, the space is super comfy, and they’re in the minority of Portland coffee shops that are open before nine o’clock in the morning.

We hired Miss Zumstein to do our wedding cake. Anja was very useful in helping decide on exactly what we wanted. The cake they delivered looked stunning, and tasted great too! No complaints at all!

My sister and I ordered 2 desserts for my moms birthday. We ordered the strawberry rhubarb tart and the classic vanilla white cake with sweet marscapone filling with fresh strawberries. I would have to say that the process of ordering, picking up and eating was great! I’m so thankful for their great customer service. I was having a hard time finding a cake(in Portland!!) and I knew that Miss Zumstein made pastries, cookies and tea. The strawberry rhubarb has great flavor in it. It’s very light with a nice amount of sweetness. The fruits were fresh and the crust was soft too. I recommend the tart and would order it again. The cake was my favorite! I wasn’t sure how marscapone and strawberry would taste. The cake was very moist, light and savory. All the flavors really came together. Everyone loved the cake! Also, they have a nice selective of teas and breakfast pastries.

My brother and I found this place through Unilocal and just randomly decided to go. So glad we did because it had such a good vibe to the place. Cozy and relaxed with some cute chic decorating. Everything looks delicious!

I absolutely love this place, I am so happy to have such a great friendly, quality in my new neighborhood. Really felt welcomed by the staff, and the samples, oh the samples of sweets were outta this world, the lemon bar was fantastic. Last but not least, no one was annoyed I wanted a quad latte, and it was perfect !

What a great, cozy place. We’ve recently stumbled upon Miss Zumstein(love the name) and have made several visits. The mini quiche are delightful, as are the potato tarts and cookies as bigger than your hand… bring a sparkle to your eye. I love the fireplace and it is only made better with Old Salt being right next door.

best coconut macaroons I’ve ever had! EVER! I know from the samples everything else is amazing but I resist buying anything else as it’ll lead to more obsession over their goodness. they will hand dip the macaroons for you anytime if they’re out of chocolate ones. the ginger fella that works there is super cute and sweet but everyone that has helped me is lovely.

Very nice ambiance for studying or chatting; good layout, but the small table is very small. Staff is very friendly. Cappuccino and latte were very good, but $ 3.75 is a bit steep. The Potato Tart for $ 3 was ok, while the coconut pie was very good. The sausage Quiche was flakey fresh and not dense like at many places. One more positive presence for this changing business district.

Ran in here on a whim Xmas eve. Purchased some spectacular seasonal cookies and bars for the holiday. And also a chocolate cherry cake. Very nice, clean space. Being inside the shop, you feel like you are in a bungalo styled house. Will definitely return to try out coffee and other things.

Delicious goodies, both sweet and savory. Right next to Old Salt Marketplace, too! Met a friend here for coffee and some goodness — had a lovely Americano and a savory quiche-meets-tart breakfast-y thing. I bought a cookie for my husband… chocolate chip. He’s a chocolate chip cookie snob, and said it was a bit too crumbly. I’m sure most everyone would have loved it. Bought their cherry-almond tart for a friend — it got a huge, jumping-up-and-down rave review.
