As a student I’ve been looking for a perfect cup of coffee and sit down café to work on projects for a while now. Stumbled across Marinos one day and am now a regular! Excellent coffee, paninis, treats and customer service! Absolutely love it and recommend to all of my friends! My favorites: iced latte and Italian panini!

Cute café on Division, open till late and has live music on certain weekends(we were unlucky not to catch one of those). Great, friendly service, their owner is of Balkan heritage and so are the servers, was very nice chatting with them. Between our group we got some cappucinos and turkish coffee, both of which were excellent, they put chocolate shavings on the cap which make it even more tasty! Saw that they had a Bosnian flatbread on the menu, will stop by sometime to taste that, was too full from dinner this time around!

I just had a wonderful barista,(didn’t catch her name, but had a thick accent and I think may have at least been management?) And I don’t think that I can honestly say that I’ve had a barista who was more nice than she. I even«left up to her discretion» as for the flavor for my latte, as they didn’t have a flavor board, and she made me an Irish Kiss, which was just amazing. Probably the best cup of coffee I’ve had in years. I wish I lived closer so that I could come more often! One visit to this café, and I am absolutely in love.

Almost 5 years later I’m finally able to try the famous Turkish coffee. I have to admit, I’m a bit of a coffee snob. I love my coffee, in pretty sure at one point of my life if you stuck me with a needle coffee will be flowing through my veins. I spend 3 weeks in Italy and that alone opened my eyes to the whole new meaning of «a great cup of coffee!» And no, I’m not talking about all that pumpkin, peppermint, Java Choco lattes! How can you really appreciate the taste of coffee when it’s mixed wind a kilo of sugar?! Yeah, Starbucks that’s meant for you. Any how’s, by that comment alone I hope you can tell that I like my coffee strong. Taste itself can be a very fleeting sensation and in the span of seconds many flavors just get washed away! So with that said, is like to know if what I’m sipping, is either sweet, fruity, clean, vibrant and so fort. Besides Italian coffee, you can’t really go work with a cup or a few cups of Turkish coffee!(Hence as long as it’s done right!). It’s bold, perfect acidity and has that excellent finish taste. The space itself is unique, the staff warm and friendly. On my first stop here, the owner introduced himself to me, noticing that I ordered Turkish coffee. He smiled and said«You must really like coffee, since you didn’t order a mocha» Beaming, I said yes, I do. I love to actually taste coffee not sugar! Lol. Besides coffee, this place is known for their home made baklava as well. I had to come back a few times since they keep getting sold out! They also offer a wide arrange of panini and other sandwiches. I sure am in love with this place and I look forward to coming back more often!

I’ve been here to study a couple times. It has a lot of potential and I appreciate that they are open late. However, I’ve run into two issues that have stuck out. For starters, it shouldn’t take 15 – 20 minutes to get my Greek bagel. It’s a very simple food item, and the place was only moderately crowded at best. Service can be slow at times. Second, if the internet goes out, they have to get the owner to the site. Very odd. There should be a much simpler solution there. With that said, it is absolutely a great place to just chill. There is outdoor seating, and live music occasionally.

My friends and I usually come here at night. They almost always have table space, which is really nice, and they are open late which makes it a nice place to go after dinner. They also do a really nice latte, and one of their baristas is a really talented latte artist who draws cute Animals in the foam.

the place has a very unique atmosphere, interesting décor and cozy. A small stage for musical acts in one corner adorns the room. The Turkish coffee I had was good(though a tad smaller than what I expected). Service was very good and friendly barista behind the counter… I would like to try their food sometime and looked very delicious. Not a lot of people when I visited on a sunday evening but would like to see how the vibe is when they have live music/belly dancing. over all a recommendation if you are cruising Division looking for a place to chill

Wonderful atmosphere, Turkish coffee, and free secure wifi. I definitely recommend this place. I’ve been to Marino a couple times now, and each time I’ve gone, I’ve been struck by the wonderful hospitality of the owner, Dario, and the other baristas. Probably the friendliest coffee shop in Portland. Great clientele. It’s nicely decorated, cozy(but not cramped), and has occasional live music(sometimes featuring Dario on guitar!). Not as much a fan of the 2003 – 2008 Top 40 Spotify playlist they had on recently, but whatever, it’s still friendly, and I was still able to get work done there. The atmosphere is less«suburban living room» or «ultra-modern urban art gallery» and more«café in the Balkans.» It lacks the palpable stress that many other PDX coffee joints have, with their bevy of nervous job seekers and students. Seeing as I was working on an application of my own there, it was nice to feel like somebody’s guest, not someone else’s distraction. As for the Turkish coffee, it’s solid. I’ve had better, though not in Portland. It’s beautifully presented and definitely cheap(a medium-sized pot is $ 4, a smaller size is $ 3). Not quite as strong tasting as other Turkish coffee I’ve had, but it’s still provides a great boost of caffeine. Go at night when Dario and the boys are playing. They’re quite good! I can also see this being a nice place for a low-key date.

Cozy little European café. We’ve been here twice now for coffee, and thoroughly enjoyed it both times. Got to meet the owner Dario who is a very nice man, friendly, down-to-earth guy, also a musician. Dario played quite a few songs for us while we enjoyed our coffee and relaxed. Highly recommend to those who especially like live music to go with their coffee. The staff there are also very friendly.

I don’t normally drink coffee, but was intrigued by the Turkish coffee. I ordered it, and I am unsure of what it’s supposed to taste like. So my review is pretty pointless, but it was nice to sit outside and try it out. Maybe I need to go to Turkey first, then review this place again?

Stopped by here late at night. Got a spot of tea and a baklava. Their baklava is huge for the price. I’ve never seen a baklava that large before. Full of walnuts and honey syrup. They have a variety of other sweets like cheesecake, red velvet cake and cupcakes. I would love to come back and try their other offerings like the Turkish coffee or their savory pastries.

We took a trip to the Southeast section of town to see a poetry reading that my cousin performed in. A pre-Valentine’s «Love sucks» themed, poetry set in a coffee shop seemed like the perfect Portland experience. The show was great. Although we didn’t eat anything here, we did enjoy a couple Mexican Cokes in the bottle. The girls working here were very nice and accommodated the crowd that gathered for the show. There is a nice décor and vibe, the kind of place that would be nice for meeting people or getting some work done out of the office. Definitely a nice little café.
