Les Schwab Tire Center

A couple weeks ago, I needed one of my snow tires replaced. I had the spare tire on. I put it on late Friday night so I could go in on Saturday to get my tire replaced with a regular tire (one that is not a snow tire). After I put my spare tire on, I threw my wheel in my garage so it wasn’t out in the middle of my car for everyone to see. I already had my entire set of 4 all season tires from when I put on the snow tires because I took them with me. I explained to the lady up front that I had the tire and wheel and I just needed it put on. She told me that they would do it for free. I was very happy about that. I figured that this would be a good place to come back to again for tires later. I waited for about 20 minutes before my car was in the bay. Apparently I put the tire in my car but I forgot to throw my wheel in the car with the bad snow tire so I had to go back to get it. The technician told me that they’d hold the bay. When I got back 15 minutes later, I explained the situation again to the guy who was working at the front (I figured that he was not the first person who I was working with so I needed to explain it so he’d know what was going on as well). After 40 minutes of waiting, I was wondering what was going on. They clearly did not hold the bay like I was told. I was worried because I was going to be late to work, which could be cause at my work to get fired. A technician told me that my car was next so it would be about 5 minutes. That turned into 20 minutes. My total wait after I got back was about 1 hour. When my car was in, one worker told me that the tire I brought in would not be put on my car. I was confused because I was never initially told of this by the first worker. My tire also had quite a bit of tread left. Because I was in a hurry to get to work, I asked if they had a used tire that they could put on. Of course they didn’t. So much for the best tire selection or whatever they advertise. He told me that they had a new tire that was the right size. I told him to put the new tire on. He came back later and told me that my car would drive weird because my other 3 tires were snow tires. One problem here is only 2 of my 3 tires were snow tires because I had another snow tire blow out on me 3 days before that and I got it replaced. If they can’t get even something as relatively simple as what something like this is for a place like this is right, then how can I trust any of their advice? I told him to still put the tire on. I didn’t care that it wasn’t a snow tire. When I paid, I was charged $ 21.50 above what I was told. I was in a rush so I decided to pay and review my bill. I found out that when I came back the worker billed me extra for a service that I did not receive. I came back in a couple days later and asked about my bill. They saw that my bill was incorrect so the worker told me that I would get $ 50 back. That was great except for she refunded me only $ 35. I also asked two different workers about the wait time issue that I experienced. I was told that I would have my car in immediately but it took an hour to get in. This made me 30 minutes late to work. The first worker told me that they hold the bays but the other worker told me that they tell everyone that they don’t allow that. So my question now is why is this place so disorganized? Why is their work of incredibly inferior quality? I don’t think it would be wise to go back with all the poor communication and other issues that they have there.

About what you can expect for a Les Schwab. BUT they didn’t run out to greet me when I parked. AND the regular tire rotation took about 45 min, where other locations normally pop me in and out in less than 10 min. And they make you leave the vehicle. AND they lowered my air pressure when I hadn’t requested that to be done
I just wasn’t too impressed with this location

With these guys it’s a hit or miss. Asking to get a break inspection was a miss. $ 910 for a round of brakes or $ 530 for rears that I despartly needed. It pays off to Unilocal places found Cooks Brakes down to earth guys great prices not a Corp company that sucks you dry, $ 350 for breaks huge savings LES Schaub way too pricey.

Last week one of my tires went out, leaking so bad I had to use my spare, only to find all 4 were worn out. Les Schwab had a sale, so I called ahead and put my name on a price quote for 4 new tires to be picked up & installed after I got off work.
Devin was the only one in the lobby-​area, he was very friendly, polite, helped me quickly & didn’t push to upsell me or pressure me into more expensive tires. He was pretty busy but at no point seemed annoyed by it. It was the end of the day, I got there at 4:45ish so I was expecting a bit of end-​of-​day irritability but the two guys I spoke with there were very nice. (I don’t remember the guys name that worked on my car, sorry).
When I realized I didn’t tell them the tire on the back was the bad one & the spare was on the car, (wanting to make sure I got my spare back) Devin ran back to make sure they knew and it turns out they already had it covered! They also looked at my breaks without me even asking.
I opened a credit account (which was pretty painless) & the whole visit was just over an hour long. I was very happy with the service & will continue to do my tire business here.

I was having an issue with my car I took it to Courtesy Ford to have the tire looked at. The man wouldn’t check my tire pressure with out $ 250 dollars. I left I stopped by this Les Schwab the beautiful employees checked all my tires put air in them and charged me NOTHING! What a great way to treat a customer. I have always had Les Schwab tires on my vehicles and when I need new one’s this is most definitely I’ll go. I was so happy I brought you crispy cream! Thank you again for your great customer service and kindness.

I appreciated the tire repair during an emrgency. Apparently this is no longer a free service, and I did not anticipate a $ 14 charge. Maybe that change in policy should be mentioned to the customer before you take their keys from them?

Here’s my Les Schwab Story.
I have been going to Les Schwab for years. A few years back we bought new tires for our car. within a month both front tires had to be replaced because they were making noise making our car jiggle. Funny thing is they replaced the front right, then said the left was fine, no it was not. Had to spend MORE time going back to have the other one fixed just days later. Not happy, but not throwing in the towel.
This last weekend we had a wobble in our back tire, right after a spring was replaced on the back brake. We had all of our baggage in the car and were supposed to be fulfilling a reservation on the Oregon Coast Saturday night for a Fathers Day weekend getaway. We stopped in at 4 o’clock and they told us there was no way they could look at it today they closed in an hour and were too busy. We left and headed to Firestone. Firestone did not have a person there who could look at the tire, but they would get us in first thing Sunday as Les Schwab is closed on Sunday (which I think is great for a company to have 1 day off for everyone). My husband said he was going back to Les Schwab and begging them to please just get it on the lift remove the tire and LOOK at the problem, as they were turning over cars quickly and had empty bays and employees watering plants and bringing in signs, Les Schwab agreed to look at it. They got it up on the lift and did NOT remove the tire, but informed us we were looking at a complicated and expensive repair and that we should leave the car in their care till Monday when they could look at it. We said no as all our stuff including a cooler and 2 year old were in the car. We wobbled home and waited till 8am the next morning.
Well short story here. Firestone got it up on the lift, took off the tire, took a ring out that was installed backwards and we were on our way in 15 minutes.
I will never ever do business with Les Schwab ever again. The absolute lies of our issue and the lack of any personal customer service was pitiful. They have all these great commercials where «so and so went out of their way to save the day for that special something» that was completely oblivious at this location.

Brought my Mini in today with a nail in the tire. Was told it would take 30 to 45 minutes to fix… WRONG! Try more like 15 minutes and Dylan had us back on the road for free (part of the service you get for purchasing tires from LS). Highly reccomended.

On 9÷24÷2014 I was so blessed by the people who work here I was able to get my tires repaired and a ton of stress taken off my back because they went above and beyond for me. I am thankful and the have a loyal costumer now!

This Les Schwab is great! Wonderful employees and management who are willing to help out customers who, how should I put this, aren’t car savvy. We purchased chains for the winter storm and after attempting to put them on, the manager put them on for us free of charge! As inexperienced young snow drivers, we accidentally used the chains improperly which broke, taking our breaks with them. We explained the situation to the manager, and once again, he fixed our breaks free of charge.

We were in Portland to visit family when we heard a very bad grinding and squeaking noise. We took our car into this Les Scwhab (we are from California, continuing our vacation in Washington and then driving back down) so the urgency to fix it was severe when they took a look at it. They were booked with appointments and let us know that we would have a long wait. Joshua M. was the guy who took care of us and he really did everything he could to get us out as fast as possible. We were expecting a five hour wait, but some how he was able to get us in and out and on our way in three hours. We haven’t heard any squeaking since. Thank you so much guys!

I had the brakes replaced at the Les Schwab store on 7304 Se 82^nd Ave. After about 30,000 miles I noticed noise coming from the tires when braking and took the car back to be inspected. I was informed that there was plenty of pad left and there was no problem. I asked if I needed to sign anything and as advised no it was a free inspection. I left the country for a three month trip several weeks after taking the car in for the brake inspection.
My girlfriend was driving the car in my absence and she contacted me to let me know that the noise was increasing. I advised her to take the car back to have it looked at again. She returned to Les Schwab and was again told that the brake pads looked fine and that she could make an appointment for a more detailed inspection since they could not find anything wrong.
Concerned that the problem was more sever and originating from somewhere else she decided to take the car to the dealership. She had just started a new job and was already taking time off work. The car had now been looked at twice and both times we had been told that the brake pads were good.
After the dealership inspected the car, they advised her that the pads still had plenty of thickness but were probably noisy due to being after market. The next day on her way to work the sound increased and was no longer intermittent. Again she feared the worse, thinking there maybe something severely wrong with the car. The car is a 06 honda civic hybrid. She was worried the sound was coming from the charging mechanism for the battery that is tied into the brakes.
Again she returned to the honda dealership. A decision that any prudent individual would make after the recent events. The dealership could find nothing else wrong and suggested replacing the pads to rule out the problem.
While replacing the pads it was also discovered that the wrong calipers had been installed at the time of servicing by Les Schwab. Calipers for a non hybrid were used. The decision was made at that time to leave the incorrect calipers and just replace the brake pads and turn the rotors. More wear was noticed then should have been present. The problem was solved the noise went away. The pads that Les Schwab uses are the wrong surface matériel to be compatible with the rotors on the honda.
Upon my return I went to Les Schwab and spoke with the Cory the store manager.
He informed me that the brake job had exceeded the 25,000 mile warranty and that the extra cost incurred to correct the problem was our fault for not giving Les Schwab anther chance to solve the problem. He felt that if we would have returned for a third time and had a more extensive brake exam that miraculously the problem would have been discovered and corrected.
It would seem that this would not be the case. Again the problem was the wrong surface material of the pads and their incompatibility with the car. This problem and possible solutions for the problem should have been apparent by the description of the noise. Taking the brakes apart would have provided no new information. Everything would have still look the same as it did during the «quick inspection». The pads would have still had plenty of thickness. I could only guess if the wrong calipers would have been discovered. I would have to think that would have been unlikely.
Cory advised that if we would have taken the car back for a third time that we would have been given the option of having pads with different surface material installed.
My question should seem obvious. Why was the wrong surface material installed in the first place and why wasn’t that solution offered to a concerned customer on the first if not the second visit?
A honda civic is one of the most popular cars on the road. Has Les Schwab never ran into this problem before? If the material is incompatible in my car, would it not be incompatible in all of the other civics?
Does Les Schwab train their employees to have no regard for their customers time and inconvenience.
There was never any apparent concern from Cory that multiple mistakes on his stores part led to the inconvenience of one of his long time loyal customers. Cory felt very comfortable with the fact that I had exceeded my warranty. He had no concern for the fact that there was still plenty of life left in the pads and if the proper pads would have been used to began with this situation would have never occurred. I still should have been driving anther ten to thirty thousand miles without wasting time and effort on a problem that was created by Les Schwabs multiple breakdown in proper mechanics, diagnostics and customer care.
It is apparent that Les Schwab needs to rethink its methods for determining parts used. Training for diagnostics and more importantly customer service.

I feel very wrongfully treated here at this Les Schwab but not any of the other ones this store was so unhelpful and quite frankly rude I had a leak almost flat and I live 6 blocks away from this one so I ran up there and they took forever but they were real busy I must say than when they get to my car instead of filling the whole they tell me my total will be $ 289 for 2 new tires cuz they cant fix it I asked if it was fixable they said yes but need tires soon anyway and I told them I cant afford that than they refused to fix their own tire and I ended up driving it home that way and waiting til boyfriend got off to fix himself. So needless to say I wasnt a bit impressed with this locatiion ONLY others are and always have been superb!

So I had to go in today to get my brakes fixed… I had to wait a bit to long to find out I would loose the use of my car all day, but when I was actually dealing with the staff there they were all friendly and helpful. even with a really difficult customer on the phone…(NOT ME). I will go back, it is walking distance. It makes it easy!

I don’t usually buy tires from Old Schwaby, too expensive for my taste, but I do go here for alignments or to have my studded tires taken on or off. My son digs the popcorn too. The work done is always performed quickly and professionally. When the work is complete and its time to pay up, the process is quick and painless if you have an account with Schwab. Just a quick signature and I’m out the door.

I’m in love… his name is Les Schwab. He knows how to treat a lady. I’ve never been charged for changing a flat tire or the tire repair. The second I get out of my car some smiling, friendly young man runs over and asks what I need. I don’t have to wait in a long line to get service started? And then you give me free popcorn while I wait? Oh yes, I’m in love.

Great service always, I always feel comfortable coming here and know they will do a good job. You can come back any time for free inspections and tire rotations. Awesome philosophy for a company to have, and a great experience for the customer.
However I have to knock 1 star off for their time estimates. If they tell you it will take 15 minutes, it will take 30 – 35. If they tell you an hour, plan on 1.5−2. Always.

The service here is always friendly, prompt, and honest. I’m always leery of auto-​repair shops but these guys always tell you like it is.
I recently drove my car into a «road closed» section of town and completely destroyed my new tires. Even though one of my tires was slashed up (therefore voided the warranty), the shop waived all labor charges because I bought the tires there. Also, they found a way to bend my wheels back so I didn’t need to bu a new one (also free of charge).
In fact, almost every time I needed a leak fixed, they’ve waived the charge.
As a touring musician who puts in about 50,000−60,000 miles a year, it’s always a relief knowing you’re in Les Schwab territory when (not if) something happens, you’ll be taken care of.

You know you’re having a rough week when you review 3 recently-​visited Les Schwabs. The latest saga was yet another tire puncture (4^th leak in 10 days, different tires). I had to hit the Felony Flats «tire center» because it was on my way from Clackamas to Southeast and I had to get it fixed tonight. As always with Les Schwab, the service was great. They fixed it for no charge. No worries.
The one star off is just because the waiting area is not nearly as swank or clean as the other stores I’ve been to lately. Not shocking, but worth noting.

Headed over to this Les Schwab because I had a nice slow leak going on on the right rear tire. The second that I got out of my car there was a kid that ran over to ask if he could help me — I told him the problem, and he told me that they’d fix it for free (in the hopes that I would replace my tires with them when I did need a replacement). I waited a total of about 3 pages in my book with some glances at Scrubs (about 20 minutes — and thank the gods for the Scrubs and Will and Grace in lieu of Judge Judy or some other lame talk show) and I was ready to go.
Overall great experience. Fast, friendly and my tire is good as new.
Who would use Fix a Flat when you can get it done right for free? Probably me, if I didn’t have a Les Schwab nearby. :)
