Kanani Pearl Spa

Such an amazing experience! The staff is so soft spoken and kind. The spa is incredible. I had a full body massage by Danielle who took her time. The facial was beyond words. I left glowing and very satisfied with the entire experience!

I’ve had wonderful experiences with facials at Kanini. I highly recommend Veronica and her excellent treatment!

Kanani Pearl is my favorite place to rest, relax and restore. From the moment you step trough the doors at their beautiful spa you are put at ease. Every one who works at Kanani is the best of the best and that is why I am a devoted and loyal customer.

I am rating this 5 stats because I have been at other spas that are pricier and not as good.
Lauren took excellent care with me and used a little from all of their skincare lines to lift, firm and hydrate my skin. It included a hand and foot massage and warm booties and mitts to cocoon me in comfort.
The skincare lines include BioTherapeutic Microcurrent, iSMedical, Epicuren and Naturopathica.
The spa itself is lovely. Intimate and welcoming. They have an entry area where you check in and out, fill out any paperwork and remove your shoes before they take you back to their waiting lounge.
You enter and process through a hallway with a wooden bridge/​walkway lined with vertical fountains that drop into small pools alongside the walkway. Very soothing and effective at masking noise outside the rooms.
The lounge is comfy with water, tea & magazines.
Everyone was lovely, skilled and professional and I certainly am recommending this spa and will come againon my next visit to Portland.

Have had two massages here and both have been amazing. Favorite part is that there was no talking, so I was able to fully relax. Nothing worse than a chatty masseuse. The spa is really beautiful, love the wooden walkway with water flowing underneath outside the treatment rooms. Highly recommend this spot for a massage!

Just to be clear my experience with Sabiah and the young lady that escorted me back was awesome. The problem was the older lady at the front desk. Her attitude was very Obtuse. She looked at me as if I had «stumbled» in there by accident and once realizing I had an actual appointment she still found it difficult to process. Her tone was very condecending. She was ranting about someone not leaving any «intake forms» so much so the young lady told her she would have me complete it in the tranquility room. I felt greatful for the rescue! Thankfully Sadiah was able to help me forget her ignorance and spend time with myself and getting centered. Only for me to have to deal with this woman on my way out. She insinuated the person that bought me the gift did not leave appropriate billing information and that if «I expected him to pay» for it she would need additional information. I advised that the kind of information she is requesting is generally obtained at the time of a purchase so how is this my issue? She made some grunting noises, huffing and puffing. Not sure what was going on with her that day but she should have left it or herself at home. What was supposed to be an amazing birthday gift., turned out to be just mediocre.

I was feeling beleaguered and in serious need of some TLC. Fortunately, a generous friend offered a trip to the spa of my choice to help me recover, and while the Spa at Sundance came to mind first, I couldn’t go that far. So, I wound up searching for a local place that offers a treatment similar to my favorite at Sundance and opted for the Volcanic Clay Purifying Wrap at Kanani Pearl.
They’ve got the whole peaceful-​retreat thing going on at Kanani, with rippling water everywhere once you exit the reception area, a cozy sitting area with hot tea, an obligatory Buddha statue, a private steam booth/​shower, low lighting, soft music, plush robes…
Oh, but what about the treatment? Well, it was perfect. The Clay Wrap with an added 60-​minute massage comforted my body and subdued my mind. It seemed like a kind of rehab, actually, and when I emerged from the place I felt that I’d regained some ground.
I can’t imagine being rich or self-​indulgent enough to get this treatment on a regular basis, but I definitely want to do it again. It’s cheaper than a trip to Utah, at least!

Sally Ann really works magic with her facials. Top notch and thinking about making it a monthly ritual.

Hands down the best massage I have ever had! Dana was absolutely amazing! She seemed to know exactly where to apply slightly more pressure and made my experience so wonderful. I often find myself fighting the pressure when I get a massage and this was not the case today. Cannot sing enough praise. I love the décor and vibe of this place. And the woman working at the front desk was super friendly and nice. I will definitely be making a stop here anytime I’m back in Portland!

Just had the most wonderful massage (Veronica) and facial (Lauren Rose) and will go back as soon as I possibly can. Everyone was lovely and the space is beautiful with an incredibly relaxing atmosphere.
I’m used to spas in LA and just a note for anyone who likes going to day spas — There’s not a central locker room and lounge. There are treatment rooms and a small sitting room when you start but no place to really lounge after you’re done. No biggie but if they’re ever able to expand, adding those would make this place pretty perfect. I would have loved to have been able to hang out for a bit to enjoy the post massage glow. :)

What a fabulous experience! Kanani is beautiful and peaceful. The running water keeps other sounds out and makes one feel content. My massage by Sabiah was spectacular. My facial by Veronica was superb. I was radiant and relaxed when I strolled out the door.

Love my facials here! They use products that really work, they educate you, and it’s a relaxing environment. A beautiful spa with a great staff. My face always has amazing results after a trip to Kanani.

This is what a spa should be! From the warm, welcome receptionists to the fabulous massage therapists you can’t go wrong here. I’ve had a massage here and an eyebrow wax and been pampered both times. They have a secret waiting room around the corner with magazines and tea which is very tranquil. My «go to» spa in the area!

I absolutely LOVED my experience at Kanani Pearl Spa! I received the Pono Spa package as a gift from my fiancé, which includes a one hour massage and a one hour custom facial. When I called to make my appointment, the person I spoke to on the phone was very nice.
When I arrived at the spa, I was a few minutes late and so I parked right in front of the spa which is only 90 minute parking. Since my treatments were going to be two hours, I asked them to fill the meter which they were happy to do but they also said that there is longer term parking just a block further or the spa can also validate parking from the nearby parking garage. Whoopsies!
When you first walk into the spa, you remove your shoes to put on spa sandals which immediately starts the spa experience. Once you leave the front area, it feels like you are transported away from Portland because of the tropical feeling of the spa. As other people have commented, there is water under your feet and flowing through the whole hallway. I really liked the wooden walkway over the water, the wood was really pretty and it definitely feels luxurious and exotic. The doors to the treatment rooms were also made of really beautiful wood and were enormous! Very fancy. The ceilings of the treatment rooms had a water-​like quality to it, which was a pleasant little surprise when I looked up before my facial.
The massage I had was with Regina and it was AMAZING. I have been super stressed and frazzled and she had such a calming quality about her. The massage room was warm and darkened, lit with candles, and smelled good too! I liked that the bed was heated and Regina actually started with my legs. Usually massages start with the back but Regina instead put a heating pad on my back which allowed me to warm up and relax. I could really feel the stress and tension go out of my back so by the time she started the massage on my back I could really enjoy it.
My facial was with Sally Anne and she also did a great job. None of the products she used irritated my skin and I also appreciated that I didn’t feel suffocated by the vapor machine. She also did really wonderful feet and upper body massages while she let some of products soak in to my face. My face is soooo soft and my skin really seems bright and luminous.
I really loved my experience at this spa. I can’t remember the last time I got a massage at a real spa, not a quick chain type of place, and you really do get what you pay for. Kanani is not a huge spa but I appreciated that it is a dedicated spa so you are not walking in and seeing people doing haircuts or something. And you can tell the therapists all really believe in the work that they are doing and care that their treatments are helping their clients. Definitely a big fan!

I had a great 4 hour experience here! It’s a quaint spa with friendly staff and quality service. I love the water flowing beneath my feet in the main corridor of the spa area, very tranquil.
Some of the highlights — awesome treatments and packages! Besides the steam releasing all my toxins (and who doesn’t like that?!), the body scrub was delightful. Full body massage was great, gentle but effective. And the facial! It was probably the best hour of my life. You deserve this, everyone does. And my face is cleaner and fresher than it has ever been. I look younger and healthier, for sure.
The downside — They served me lunch, it wasn’t up to par with the place. And he robes weren’t very soft and way too big. Otherwise, I would have given them 5 stars.
You should get a facial today :)

My experience at Kanani began with some pleasant phone calls with Mary Ellen, the owner. It’s always appreciated when an owner has a very hands-​on experience with their business, and she helped to make mine a positive one. I had just one service while here — a 60 minute massage — and it was truly one of the best I’ve received. So good, in fact, that I’m pretty sure I drifted off into dreamland for a portion of it.
The space is beautiful as well — the water cascading down the walls into a river under your feet… that was quite a surprise and a clever design.
Most definitely worth a visit if you’re looking for a superior spa experience. I’m looking forward to returning for additional services.

I had a really lovely pregnancy massage by Linda today. I’m 38 weeks along. Linda got me positioned very comfortably and then went to work with her skilled, experienced hands, getting all the spots that have been aching for months — low back, shoulders, sacro-​iliac joint, hip joints, legs, feet. Then a really nice scalp and ear massage (never had an ear massage before — it felt great!). It would have been nice to stay in that relaxed, released state for the next two weeks! It felt so, so nice! Five stars for Linda.
The atmosphere is very nice — actual running water, fresh smells, bright front area and quiet, darkened back area.
It would be a lovely touch if the back ‘sanctuary’ felt more like a sanctuary, with ferns and philodendron, visible flowing water, Hawaiian flowers; and if the lady up front had actually shown me where the sanctuary is. I wasn’t sure how to get there though she said «Go ahead into the sanctuary and take your time.» The back hall is dim. I couldn’t tell if I was supposed to go into one of the massage rooms and wait there since you can’t see the sanctuary when you go into the hall.
I will definitely go back.

I have been looking for a spa since recently relocating from Los Angeles, although some reviews on here seem «unfavorable» i am always skeptical about negative comments. I decided to try this spa with an open mind.
I made two appointments, one for me and one for my mom for mother’s day. They were booked at first but told me that they would let me know if they had space open up, the woman at the front desk was extremely helpful and pleasant. They ended up having an opening so that my mom and I could have our services done at the same time. I had a regular 60 minute massage with Erin {LOVE} and my mom had a Facial with Lauren {LOVE} and her massage with Erin as well. I decided to splurge and get my momma the Pono Package.
The spa is absolutely beautiful, the energy there is very nice. From the moment we walked in the door we were treated with the best customer service. I did NOT want my massage to end, and once i was done (since i finished first) i was able to wait in the relaxing waiting area enjoying nice organic tea and chocolate brownies. Overall the experience made my momma and i have a great day, we LOVED the entire staff and will definitely be returning.
It saddens me to see the bad reviews on this, specially pertaining to the service. i find it hard to believe that the people we interacted with would ever be «short» or «sound bothered» or not give their clients the best service. I will be telling all of my friends about Kanani Pearl Spa.

I found myself with a free afternoon in Portland during a week long vacation, and called up Kanani to see if they happened to have an opening for a lomilomi massage that afternoon. Luckily, they did and were very accommodating, and they were able to see me within two hours.
The spa is a really relaxing environment and they have a little stream of water running under the wooden walkway in the hallway, which was really cool and also provided nice background noise during my massage.
My massage therapist (I forgot her name!) was great. This was my first lomilomi massage, and I’m aware that each therapist approaches each modality in their own way, so I’m not sure if this was a «typical» lomilomi massage, but it sure was relaxing. She did a great job of asking how her pressure was and concentrating on my tight spots, while gently kind of forcing my body to let go.
All around a very nice experience.
