FYI Salon

For the perfect blunt cut bob, this is the place to go. Lueria is the stylist and FYI is the salon. I showed her a picture of how I wanted my hair, since other stylists in the area seem to be at a loss when it comes to cutting a decent bob, and she did a fantastic job. Actually, my hair cut is perfect.
I found FYI to be comfortable and although they know their stuff and the salon is upscale there was nothing hoity-​toity about it. Lueria is easy going and fun to be around, and can carry on a conversation while doing a great cut. Plus, the price is reasonable.

I love Shoreh and I will shave my head when and if she ever quits– she’s just the best EVER. Clean, light filled, great music you wouldn’t expect to hear at a salon and very comfortable — just go! I always feel like a princess when I’m done and she never gets mad at me for showing up with massive tangled hair.

Today was my first visit to fyi salon. I was promptly and kindly greeted and met my stylist Lueria. I had emailed her a picture of exactly what I wanted and she nailed the color and cut. My hair wasnt long enough for the style I had wanted so she did some quick research and found alternatives for me and did it right then and there. She charges a fair price and does exceptional work in a timely manner and is just plan fun to be around. Definitely a five star stylist and experience;)

Lueria not only gave me a great cut right on the spot (a walk-​in on a Saturday!), she is the most warn, caring and kind person who I could have sat and chatted with all day.
She is also an absolute expert. I’ve never let anyone cut off the amount of length she took and I’ve gotten nothing but compliments. She’s kind, honest and I am now a customer for life! Thanks again Lueria, you have made a new loyal customer!

Lueria is amazing. I’m from los angeles and have had my fair share of stylists .but I can honestly say how happy I am with the Ombré coloring and cut I received. Not only is Lueria profession and relaxed AND she has a great talent. I would highly recommend !

Lueria is awesome. I went in for a perm the other day because of a glowing review (see below) another client had given her. She knew right away what I was after and that she was *NOT* the one for this particular job. Instead of taking my money and giving me something that wasn’t right for me, she actually took the time to call another salon and referred me to a reputable stylist who specializes in a unique style of perming (rag curl perm). (That salon is Studio 154 in NW)
This is a big deal. It’s tough to let money walk out the door and it shows integrity to send them to another stylist instead of telling them «It’s just not possible» or «Maybe you will like this instead?» In a city saturated with underpaid/​undertipped stylists (myself being one) this sort of character is few and far between. It was refreshing to meet a stylist who is truly invested in the needs of her clientele, even when it means she’s not the lady for the job.
FYI Salon is also really cute. It’s a teeny loft style establishment in the Pearl, with Kerastase products/​treatments and Lindor Truffles in the candy bowl. I made sure to buy some product on the way out in order to prep my hair for the chemical process of perming, it was the least I could do.
I would definitely recommend Lueria for your hair needs in future, though I didn’t get to personally experience more than her astute consultation. She’s adorable, excited for you, and goes out of her way to make sure you get what you’re looking for.

Oh Portland, once again you have proven just what an awesome and amazing town you are. Not only do you have 2 damn amazingly talented designers on Project Runway. You also have an amazingly talented hairdresser and colorist who starts work at 6am!!! Who does that! Lueria Miller is a godsend, I cannot tell you how much I’ve tried to talk my hair dressers in SF and NYC into early appts only to be looked at like I was an alien stepping off my ship…
Lueria did my hair at 6am in Portland, I love that she does both color and cuts, to a maximum efficiency. I did not end up looking like a soccer mom and I did not have a mullet both hair cuts have happened in the past much to my horror. A good hairdresser is so hard to find! Lueria Miller fits like a wet suit on a hot surfer. Now if only this review will convince her to move to NYC so I can once again have a hairdresser that fits my schedule!!! Just a little side note, I just got my hair done 2 weeks again, I had to take 4 hours off of work and I ended up paying $ 390 for a haircut and color and it was just meh, okay. I think with the time I took off I ended up paying over $ 500 just for an okay cut! Jeez, Portland I hope you know what treasures you have because I have serious envy here…
