Quaint little place, definitely popular with the locals and a decent amount of seating in two separate rooms. Avocado toast was a bit expensive but pepper flakes gave it a nice kick. Poached egg was great, we only stopped by for a to-go order before hitting the road. Definitely an extra star for serving stumptown, pity I didn’t get to try any of their coffee selections I’m sure that’s the best part of this café. Will definitely return for a small breakfast next time I’m in town.

This nice little spot was certainly a delight to dine at on my trip to Portland. Its located in a nice neighborhood where you can sit outside and enjoy the nice weather outside. The service is on point. The server heard my order wrong and immediately rectified it by getting me the correct drink almost immediately! The presentation of the food is spot on and makes you drool and the taste doesn’t disappoint either! They serve mainly brunch-esque dishes with an array of breakfast items from biscuits and gravy to breakfast burritos. I had the ‘Armstrong’ which is an eggs benedict like dish. It was delicious. My friend got the breakfast burrito which looked good as well. I was very happy with the portions and the price. Overall, it was a solid dining spot and I would recommend it if you are in town craving some nice brunch.

Super cute little local café! I’m local to the John’s Landing area — have walked by this café many times while walking my dog. Decided to stop by for brunch one Sunday morning(with the dog of course). The café has ample indoor and outdoor seating — I frequently see people hanging out and working in here. The outdoor tables have shade umbrellas, and there are usually a few dog bowls with water scattered around. In the evening the seating is shared with Corbett Fish House, so it might be a bit more limited during the evening. I sampled their cappuccino, and their country breakfast burrito. Both ended up being quite excellent! Today they were serving Water Ave. Coffee in their espresso — it appears to rotate, so occasionally you’ll find other roasters. The breakfast burrito was well portioned and served with a side of fruit. They also appear to have an excellent selection of pastries available for purchase! I’ll be back here the next time I need coffee and a pastry!

Getting worse! Their latte tastes like steamed milk with a splash of coffee. Yuck!

Great place for breakfast — plenty of outdoor seating for those with pets and lots of indoor room. Toast menus, petunias baked goods, and local coffee. Free wifi is a bonus so good place for socializing or doing work in the afternoon.

Coffee is decent but not a fan of the ice tea. Food portion is pretty small. The place is really cute and you can either sit inside or outside.

Skip this place. I went in and asked for some kombucha and the person at the counter just said«we’re out right now» — nothing about what else they could get me or even if they really cared I was there?!? An earlier episode, I had coffee — but was not up to my taste.

I come here with two of my dearest friends every Friday morning, and we were beyond thrilled to be some of the very first customers throughout the doorway on the day they reopened. The brand new owners are delightful and their attention for, and investment in, this company shines through in every manner. We adored JoLa before, but the new touches have elevated it to the following degree.

Most of the time this place is really good. But, every once in a while I do end up a little disappointed.

This place is super, super cute. I met a friend here to catchup, the the café is located on a corner in a neighborhood aka plenty of parking. There is lots of seating and lots of good looking pastries in the display case, as well as a pretty good sounding menu on the wall behind the counter! The café lets in a lot of natural light and is very comfortable. I ordered a house coffee and it was really good, the blend was nice and smooth! I ended up drinking two cups and spending a nice Tuesday afternoon talking for about 2 hours as a steady stream of customers came in and out. You can tell right off the bat why people like JoLa! I even ran into an old acquaintance there who told me(as he was leaving) that he comes there all the time.

I feel like this place is hit or miss. If you order the right thing at the right time it’s amazing, but not always. Loved my latte last week, but my breakfast sandwich was lacking. Also noticed them microwaving things, which I never appreciate. Recommend the deconstructed blt with egg. My friend liked the breakfast biscuit, but I wasn’t super impressed. I’ll try it again and maybe it’ll be better or maybe just stick to the coffee.

Met a friend here for breakfast this past Saturday morning. My wife and I were visiting the area, he had just recently located to Portland. We picked JoLa based on the location and other Unilocal reviews, and glad we did! Wife and I both had lox and bagels with a great cup of coffee. Service was fast and friendly, the price is right, and the location, just off I-5 is super convenient. We’re in Portland quite a bit — first time there won’t be the last!

Dad and I came here on a whim for a late brunch. Missed brunch by 11 minutes… dang! Not to worry, there was still the regular breakfast menu available. I had the breakfast burrito, which came with a small fruit side. It was great. Now, my dad had some sort of Greek turkey wrap which was phenomenal! Definitely will be coming back.

Hidden neighborhood gem! Really delicious brunch and lunch choices … I’ve never ordered something I didn’t like. Always fresh and consistent on wait times(even if they’re busy). The staff are truly always friendly and helpful. Things to recommend: the steel cut oatmeal with fresh fruit, lemon curd and cream. Also, lox bagel with cream cheese, onion, capers, heirloom tomatoes and lemon. The poached eggs and toast are simple, but good. My boyfriend always gets the breakfast burrito as a bowl and has not strayed from that decision. There are so many great brunch places in Portland, but we go here nearly every weekend!

I stopped for coffee here today with a friend; it was my first time here. I had a yummy vanilla latté and a coconut/chocolate macaroon, and had been sorely tempted after seeing a lox and bagel going by to someone else. Really, all the plates of food looked fresh and delicious. Prices were very reasonable, and the service was friendly and efficient. I have a friend who lives nearby, and I can definitely see meeting her for lunch(or breakfast) here. The atmosphere is very pleasant, and there’s enough space between tables so that people can have private conversations. There’s also wi-fi available.

I’ve visited this café times now, and *every* single time, they forget to make my coffee and I have to politely remind them that I still exist. But you know what? That’s how good the coffee is. And that’s how tasty their expensive food is. I come back because their staff makes good stuff despite minor mistakes. I don’t mind asking twice for magical coffee. Try a Gibraltar(aka, cortada), and have the turkey & avocado panini. Treat yo’ self!

The breakfast burrito was a dream come true. It stayed together perfectly, with zero filling loss. It was stuffed and folded with precision, and served with a side of salsa. It was the perfect companion to my heart shaped latte. We will be back for sure.

Brought my laptop in on this rainy day to sip a cup of coffee while I catch up on some work. The atmosphere is laid back and the place is packed with a diverse range of people. Some work silently on laptops while others chat in small haphazard clusters producing a buzz that combines with the folky music overhead to produce the perfect background noise. The smaller rooms contain standard coffee shop tables and chairs as well as designated study/work community tables. Free wifi is also offered. The staff are extremely pleasant and welcoming. In addition to this great environment, I found that strawberry shortcake is a menu offering at breakfast time! If for work or just for a kick-back coffee fix, Jola will not disappoint.

Boy and I went there for brunch on a Sunday. Bagel was good. The goat cheese and berries on artisan bread toast looked wonderful and he loved it. The service was great. They were friendly and quick and the specialty brewed Kenyan coffee(ground, and individually drip brewed for you) was done well. It had a sort if architectural digest décor, with a rotating art display on the walls. When we were there unfortunately, the art was in transition so there was a bit of empty wall. I will go back for weekend brunches for sure.

This is a great spot. Not super cozy, but more modern, sleek and clean atmosphere. It’d be perfect to meet someone on a professional level versus friends hanging out. On that note, the quality of coffee and handmade drinks trumps the atmosphere, and I’d come here any day. They also have a great selection of pastries and food items. I also enjoy their retail section, and seeing cool new coffee gadgets.
