Living nearby means that I come here fairly frequently, and I’m never disappointed. Brunch is great here — biscuits and gravy is a favorite, their sausage and bacon are high quality and the breakfast potatoes are fantastic. I see a lot of complaints about service at the Jamison, but I’ve always found it to be exemplary — orders are taken quickly and it never takes too long for our order to be delivered. Don’t believe the negatives, this is a Pearl District treasure.

Great happy hour! Best broccoli ever. Watch the kids play in the fountain while you drink away the stresses of child rearing.

So many things I love about this place. However, the lack of air flow made me leave half way through a meal. The waiter said that is always hot their but the chef says, it is what it is. So, I’ll be back in winter…

I went here to grab brunch before returning to Eugene with my mom and aunty who were in town to visit. I absolutely love the atmosphere and the look of the place – trendy, urban, clean, upscale looking, not loud – however our server wasn’t the best. He didn’t once ask to refill our waters, we had to ask, and we had to make several requests multiple times(for example we had to ask for pepper and ketchup three times before he finally brought it, and by then we were almost done with our meals). He seemed like a nice guy, just not completely awake. The food was okay. I had the corned beef hash. I liked that it was rustic and not a smashed, single textured mess. The elements were all there, it was just a little under seasoned for my taste. Usually with corned beef hash, I expect it to be too salty, but that wasn’t the case for this one. The corned beef was a little bland and there wasn’t much depth in flavor with seasoning of the hash as a whole. The poached eggs were perfect however, and I greatly enjoyed it with the hash. The portion size was perfect for me. I would go again if i was in the area, but I wouldn’t travel to the pearl district and seek this place out for brunch.

If you are going to this place be ready to wait a long long long time. My wife and I went in and waited an hour for eggs, fruit, bacon and a biscuit. They could not even soft boil an egg and the fruit look like it was pulled out of a compost pile and rinsed off. We heard“Oh your food should be out any minute” about five times and I should have got the hint from the two groups that just got up and left. There was a guy in a white lab coat with a purple bow tie creeping every one out and all he was doing was pouring coffee. Do something else, obviously they need help in the kitchen or something. We got to know the table next to us pretty well since we sat there for so long, nice people. You guys got me good job… it will never happen again. May you have mercy on your future customers.

Everything about my experience at Jamison calls for a 5 star review. The service was amazingly friendly and kind, and the food(the little we did order) was delicious! You MUST order the brussel sprout chips. They were a really great snack with an order of fries and their sausage flatbread. Oh, and the restaurant is gorgeous! Such a wonderful atmosphere. I highly recommend dining and drinking at Jamison.

Delish! My family enjoyed a bar meal here. The green salad was just normal, nothing special. The flatbreads were very good. Love the skinny crust! Unusual toppings. My Rueben sandwich was wonderful. The swiss cheese sort of looked like saran wrap, not sure what that’s about, but the corned beef was some of the best I’ve had in Portland and the sandwich was cooked perfectly. The homemade fries that I was totally looking forward to were limp and not hot, but would have been great had they been. Now, the broccoli! Oh my! I will come back for that anytime. It’s blanched, roasted, flash fried, and then topped with a reduced citrus juice concoction. To die for! I’d love that as a side to all my meals!!!

Avoid this restaurant Just spent 2 hours here on what should have been an enjoyable Mother’s Day brunch. The location is lovely, the staff standoffish. It took one hour from the time we place our order to receive our food. And another 15 minutes for everyone at our table to be served. In between our waiter was no where to be found. Not a single word exchanged to tell us why it was taking so long until our waiter said, «your food is being plated 45 minutes into our wait. With a view into the open kitchen I had to laugh, noticing the chef was just beginning to cook our food. When the food finally arrived it was terrible. Eggs cooked to oblivion, rock hard potatoes, and cold toast. I was not surprised when out waiter informed us the chef had walk off the job that morning. We regretted choosing to eat here, not once was our mother acknowledged on this special day. We would never return.

I have been to Jamison twice now in the past couple of months, both times for brunch with my friends. I feel like it is a hidden gem because we have never had to fight crowds and they accept reservations for brunch. On each occasion we received prompt, friendly service, delicious food and good bloody mary’s. I like my bacon crispy and they serve extra thick, indulgent bacon so I did have to ask them to crisp it up a little more for me, the waiter did so without any sign of irritation, just aiming to please and made sure it was to my liking. I would describe the décor as «french decadent» and they have a big central fireplace that keeps you cozy. I enjoy the open kitchen style as well so you can watch what’s going on. I would definitely recommend this place and will be back soon!

This is a great stop for everything. Excellent cocktails… really good Bloody Mary. The food was seriously scrumptious and the staff at the bar was such a pleasure. Make sure you go in for lunch and dinner. Cheers.

This reminds me of an old pal that I have been wanting to reconnect with. I do admire the charm that the place holds. It looks casual but not too casual. It looks trendy but not ridiculous and pretentious. It has that classic vibe that has been highlighted with the bold industrial architecture and layout that makes it warm and inviting. I did not get any romantic vibe. I’m in no mood for romance but my plate of pork chop and my company for the night. Thanks to the liquid courage called squeezy bee, I managed to carry a conversation. Well, the cava and bourbon combination is mellow enough to sip and drink through the whole meal. It is accentuated with an elderflower, in which it makes things taste lighter. The dessert? Oh, it will make you go weak on your knees with chocolate cake. It is light and moist with peanut butter cream. It is paired well with salted caramel ice cream. The service is pretty spot on. There may have been a time that our server may have gone over zealous about cleaning the plates on the table. The hostess was graceful but the plates that the food are being served on are NOT. I did not attend a circus school to balance my plate while eating and having a conversation. I know it’s not ergonomically correct to have your servers carry a 5 – 10 lbs plate with your .25 lbs gourmet meal but can we serve them on a plate that does not wobble? There is a lot to look forward to this place just like an old friend. There is something good that lies in their menu. Something worthwhile, something chewy. I’m keeping my eye on their octopus plate. ;)

I recently visited for a late night dinner during Portland dining month. I had been wanting to try this place for quite sometime, but it just never seemed to be the right time, so I kept skipping over it on my bookmarked listed of places to try. I now wish I had not acted in such a foolish way. It was delightful! I always feel so fancy and celebrity like when I visit a restaurant that serves my wine is proper and amazing wine glasses. I just always feel like someone just gave me a big, cozy hug when the right style of glass arrives at my table. Thank you for this Jameson. You would think more restaurants in the PNW would do this as well as you do this. Portland dining month menu: scallops, pork tenderloin, chocolate cake w/salted caramel ice cream. Obviously they were much more fancy than I am describing, but you get the gist. All of it was delicious. The pork was so perfectly cooked and spiced. My friend and I were both so impressed. Portions were perfectly sized as well. You won’t leave hungry, but you won’t need to unbutton that top pants button to drive home either. I was so happy with the dining experience that I am actually considering going again tonight while in the area. The décor is very rustic and trendy, but in no way over done. Wine barrel bar stools crafted with care, bird cage chandeliers, and just enough lighting to make anyone feel like a hopeless romantic. Wait… I forgot to mention, what a great wine list! Plenty of «by the glass» options which made me smile as I knew 2 glasses was my limit for the evening. Ps. The hand lotion in the women’s restroom smells like heaven.

A beautiful view of Jamison Square and one of the most inviting restaurant interiors I’ve experienced. Can’t wait for warmer weather when the outdoor seating becomes an option. My server was very pleasant and helpful. I chose the Wild Caught Tuna Tartare and Roasted Prairie Creek Farms Heirloom Beets. The tuna plate had more avocado than tuna and I liked the thin sliced, toasted baguette that accompanied this dish. Light, bright and very flavorful. The beets, slightly al dente and paired well with the cilantro crème fraiche. I’ll order butterscotch pudding whenever it’s on the menu. This version by far has been the most memorable. Not the creamy texture you may be used to in a pudding, this one was a little firmer and topped with smoked sea salt. Happy to hear this is a long time menu item! My only feeling walking away, is that the food took a little longer than expected to come out of the kitchen. Considering my menu choices were more assembly and prep. I’ll still return, it was a very positive dining experience overall.

We’re at 3.25 stars pushing on 3.5 now. Service has noticeably improved, but kitchen and bar are still a bit uneven, but getting better. In addition to the great patio area in nice weather, they have some nice fireplaces in the dining area for the colder, wetter months, of which we have more than a few.

5 star epicurean episode last night at Jamison! You can throw out the word«Best» restaurant and it will stick on quite a few in the Pearl district(or anywhere), but you got to put Jamison in the discussion. It’s a grandiose experience in some of the«Best» gastronomy, beginning at the front door, through dining and chatting with Ex. chef Gavin and ending with a delicious butterscotch pudding. On a cold blustery eve, we checked in with a table by 1 of 2(2-way) direct vent fireplaces filling the room with warm and cozy vibrations. We all know on warmer days, the patio overlooking the park and fountain is packed-out with parties in a lingering, convivial spirit sipping wine, cocktails and eating good food – been there, done that! The ½ block park view outside rolls up through floor to ceiling glass inviting you in or letting you outside – one of the«Best» views of what makes the Pearl attractive to visitors and locals. Inside the rustic & contemporary dining room is adjacent to the open kitchen, where the sizzling sounds and aromas of some of the«Best» cuisine(well-thought-out and dished delectably) fills your nostrils pleasurably, makes my mouth water – we are ready to eat. Taking it slow! Feeling the heat from the fire and our cocktails – the squeezy bee(bourbon & champagne), then, Pfriem IPA. Of course, there are fine wines too. You’ll find a special by the executive chef not on the menu. Tonite, the lamb pot pie was hearty, rich and delicious – lots of lamb with tidbits of potato and carrots with a light & fluffy pastry covering(um good). Corned beef sandwhich is the«Best!» Be sure to ask the servers their favorite dishes. My affable server recommended brussel sprout chips(crispy and savory) – popped and crispy – with a crunch you will be back for. The glazed(sweetened) broccoli was also unlike any«broc“I’ve tried – very tasty. From small plates to salads down to entrees with delectable dishes by land, air and sea – or just veggies – pork, duck, salmon, risotto, so on! We came for happy hour! We left smiling! One of the«Best» of all dining experienced this night and we have tried nearly all Pearl places. And all – honestly – servers, chefs, and hosts we passed by on the way out – all smiled back – all sent us off with pleasantries. Made me feel all warm and fuzzy as we stepped into the blustery, chilly night. i thought, Jamison cares for customers caring for it all! Can’t wait to be back for more – another 5 star«sip & din»!

I can’t recommend Jamison enough! We hosted a wedding celebration at Jamison in September 2014 and had an amazing experience. We booked out the restaurant and worked with one of the owners, Raina, to plan an unforgettable evening. The service, drinks, and food were all fantastic. The menu included cedar planks of salmon, snap peas w/house bacon, butterscotch pudding w/smoked sea salt, the food impressed our local and out of town guests. This was one of the best meals of my life. Raina was delightful to work with and the wait staff were super professional and friendly. As a corporate event planner myself, I have high standards, which Jamison totally surpassed. Thanks again for a lovely experience!

I think this place is great, I’m not sure why it has 3 stars. It has the neatest interior design. It’s very unique to anything in Portland, I would definitely recommend going. The patio area is nice in the summer, and the inside area has a great vibe. We went for brunch and I had the mushroom scramble. It was delicious! The only thing that was okay was the potatoes. They were too hard for my liking, but everything else was great. We got a round of drinks, and I had the peach bellini which was perfection. Check this place out!

From start to finish, a marvelous experience! I was a little nervous to try Jamison because of the bad reviews. Really can’t believe it was the same restaurant. We came in Friday night around 6, asked for the best seat in the house(joking, of course) and they seated us next to the cozy fire with a view of the park! We had drinks, flatbread, and shared the Portland Dining Month special. I didn’t care for the salmon cakes, but everything else was incredible. Service was outstanding, as soon as we finished one dish the next was on its way. Felt very relaxed; the wait staff was very attentive without hovering. Just couldn’t have asked for a better evening!

So far I have been here twice for breakfast. The first time we were just in the neighborhood and found it on the Unilocal app, the second we returned with my family in law. Both times I had Benedict’s. I love the décor here, I would live here if I could. It is a perfect mix of modern, handmade, and rustic, just my style. The Bloody Mary’s are very good, a little spicy. My only complaint, both times it was a little chilly in there. There are garage doors which are lovely in summer I’m sure but with one of the fireplaces broken it was too cold for me in there.
