Kearney Plaza Apartments

Stay away from this place, your rent will rise exponentially every year, and management will do anything to take any penny out of your pocket.

We have had simply the most wonderful experience with the folks at Kearney Plaza Apartments. From the first time we started looking for a place in the Pearl, through move in and now every day. The ladies that run the place are friendly, helpful and always looking for a way to help. We’ve had very few issues but when they come up the folks here are on them right away. We’ve rented for a long time, and simply put, this is the best experience we’ve ever had. As for the apartments themselves, they are clean, spacious and priced well for the neighborhood. The rents in the Pearl are pretty expensive, and Kearney Plaza is moderately priced. Not the highest and not the lowest. Right in the middle of the Pearl. Lots of places to eat, nightlife and a Safeway just about across the street. You really could get away with no car if you live here. So thumbs way up!

Awesome apartments and staff. Location is great, their rules and guidelines are very reasonable, and the pricing is right about in line with the area for the quality of what you get (which of course isn’t cheap, but neither is the area).

Kearney Plaza Apartments are exceptionally poor quality for the price and location. The management was never available; often we had to go into the office and/​or call more than 3 three times to speak to anyone.
We had a two bedroom apartment, but the air conditioner was in the (central) living room. It was such an old and cheap unit, and so loud, that we had to turn it off to watch tv. And, it only cooled the main room. So, to get the bedrooms cool enough, we had to get the living room to a bone chilling temperature. We bumped into another tenant one day that said the same. They were just waiting out their lease before they could move. I can’t imagine anyone stays here longer than their lease requires it.
You could constantly hear foot steps from the apartment above. The noise from outside was constant.
Finally, after only living here for two months, and intentionally not putting anything on the walls, they not only charged a cleaning fee and a carpet cleaning fee (which was expected), but they also charged a $ 265 fee to paint. After two months. When nothing was put on the walls.
If you’re looking to move to The Pearl, look elsewhere. You can certainly do better.

I moved into Kearney plaza apartments November 2012. Shortly after I moved here I was diagnosed with a terminal disease. It was devastating news but at least I had a home that I loved living in, wonderful neighbors, many stores and restaurants close enough to enjoy and Jameson square to enjoy on nice days, with my dog, and watch the children and adults enjoying the days.
Recently I found that my apartment was not one that had been renovated and that I would have to move. I couldn’t imagine having to go through this in my condition. Physically or emotionally, I just couldn’t fathom trying to cope with this. I went to the office and explained my situation to Kathryn. She was very concerned and upset. She said she would talk to the powers that be and let me know.
I thank you so much for the kindness and compassion, I can continue to live in my wonderful home… I am so grateful!

Kearney Plaza Apartments were exactly what my fiancé and I were looking for. The location is absolutely ideal. I wanted an apartment in downtown but didn’t want to pay a fortune. There isn’t a pool or a workout room but with 24 hour fitness on the corner, I’ll take the cheaper rent and nice location over everything else!
My fiancé has already lived here a year and she feels safe and taken care of. The women in the leasing office are great and are always happy to chat. She has said that the building seems rather quiet and hasn’t had an issues with neighbors.
I think the best part of the whole building is that there is a washer & dryer in each unit, open floor plan, and the bathrooms are gigantic.

Lived here for 2 years. The location is amazing but the accommodations and the leasing company leave a lot to be desired.
–The walls are incredibly thin. Could hear the people above us and through the wall a little too well. Yes… I knew when our neighbor got a new girlfriend.
–Once the initial lease is up they will jack up your rent… a lot. The second year it went up by almost $ 400.00. Don’t even think about breaking your lease… it is very expensive.
–The fire alarms go off a lot. Yes, had them go off several times in the middle of the night and at other random times. They went off enough it became a point of contention for me.
–The homeless have become a problem. Our cars were broken into multiple times in a secure garage!
I do enjoy living downtown… but it is expensive. This place might work if you’re ok being quiet and don’t mind hearing your neighbors business.

I called to inquire about leasing options and the lady I spoke with was not accommodating and rushed me off the phone. I told her my price range, which is pretty flexible and she was still rude!
They were currently at capacity but the leasing agent didn’t even offer to take my details. The funny part is that the Kearney isn’t even one of the nicer apartments or condos in the Pearl.
