Go By Streetcar Sign

I’ll be walking slow, head down, rain pelting my face, thinking, man … my dogs are barking, I wish I could get out of this rain, I hope I don’t slip on all these wet leaves, it would be nice to sit down and be warm for a little bit and not have to w a l k a l l t h e w a y …
and then I see it Go By Streetcar hanging there in the sky like a guiding angel.
Of course, the streetcar. I board, I sit, I relax, I am warm. All is well.
All is well.

Portland is given it’s due with the Go By Streetcar Sign. It is near the Portland Streetcar’s Pearl District office. It is classy and it is a worthy sign.
What this does for me is remind myself that we have the maritime feel of say Seattle. The classic red font choice looks early 20^th century, no matter when this was installed. It is also near the water. Some great markets are nearby.
Go By Streetcar is our version of the Pike’s Place sign.
