First time here, and definitely won’t be the last. The food is amazing! Seriously — AMAZING! I also recommend the grapefruit mimosa!

Went here for lunch for the first time today. Homey, cozy small place. Since I am trying to watch the waist line I ordered the ½ spicy chicken salad and said no on the tortilla strips but yes to the fried jalapenos.(Hey a girl has to make exceptions… the 3 foods I break the diet for. fried jalapenos, fried oysters, and hush puppies with butter) but anyway the delicious chicken in the salad was ample and all the flavors blended beautifully with the ranch dressing(on the side of course) My friend had the clam chowder which she loved and I tasted and was divine on a cold rainy day! She gave rave reviews to her caesar salad! The waitress was lovely and attentive when needed and wine by the glass was reasonable. Can’t wait to go back for lunch and dinner!

I ate here this morning with a friend. It was easy to be a vegetarian here. I ordered the Vegi omelet with no cheese, potato’s and SD toast. It was very good. My friend had the hash and loved it. A lot of people say it’s expensive, and I would agree at a regular breakfast house, but this is more gourmet, so it’s worth the extra couple of bucks. We’ll be back.

I used to love this place. It’s a block from my work and the food is good. Perfect for days when I don’t have time to eat before work. But ever since they were featured on some diners and dives reality show the value per dollar has plummeted. I don’t usually write reviews, and I had stopped eating there, but in a pinch I went again today and it has gone too far not to say something. The scramble portions have gotten so small that I literally laughed out loud when I opened the box, followed by an exclamation of disbelief. Filling the rest of the box with cheap potatoes is not a substitute for protein. Plus they’ve added $ 2-$ 3 to the cost, so you’re getting ripped off from both sides. It is unacceptable to pay $ 12 for breakfast and be hungry less than an hour later. From now I will never make an exception, and always go out of my way to avoid wasting my money here.

Really good service and REALLYGOOD food. Burgers are perfect. Had the industrial burger with bacon egg and extra sharp tillamook cheese. So good. Hubbs had the spicy burger and loved it. Not so hot that it is overwhelming. Plus deep fried jalapeños. The only reason I give 4 instead of 5 stars is the lack of local ciders bottle or tap. National brand cider available but I can’t drink those anymore, now that I live where fresh, local ciders are brewed. The big ones are too sweet and give me insta-headache. Well drinks were available so I wasn’t without.

When The Man suggested that we go to a diner in an industrial café in Northwest Portland for breakfast this morning, well, sure, why not? He usually makes good choices. I visualized a café far out on the way to St. Helens, so it was a pleasant surprise in front of this stylishly-industrial café just at the very fringes of Northwest Portland near Meriwether’s Restaurant. Well, OK, then, this is very good, and indeed it was all around. Everything is stylishly(there she goes again with that word) rustic(cement walls patterned to look like wood, stained cement floors, lots of tool-themed decorations on the walls, vintage pictures). Evidently, the men’s bathroom has some fantastical pipe arrangement on the wall, almost art piece rather than real live plumbing. Ron took a picture of it for me and showed me and it is seriously cool. But like the pea hen to the peacock, the women’s restroom was attractive but bland in comparison. They were very, very clean. We were greeted by our lovely server who got us coffee in to-go cups as requested and never let them get very empty. She chatted with us as we went along and ganged up with me to tease Ron about taking so long to make his breakfast choice. Poor thing, he never had a chance with the two of us. I ordered the corned beef hash with scrambled eggs and toast, and it was perfect. He had sausage, eggs, fried potatoes, and toast. I enjoyed that it was just the right amount of food because I still had to go to work and didn’t want it to be sleepy. I tried his potatoes and they were crispily-fried on the outside and fluffy and soft inside — dreamy! I think the earlier you come on the weekends, the better your seating choices. We got in right away at 10:30, but by 11:30 a line had started to form. Be sure to come here for both the extremely well-executed industrial theme(it could have gone haywire if it hadn’t been handled so well) and all the great food. I think you might want to become a regular!

What can I say, Guy Fierri from diners drive ins & dives has directed us to a great place for breakfast. The food, service & nostalgia here was excellent. If you want a great breakfast in a really cool diner… This is it! They make fresh hash & you owe it to yourself to try it with some eggs & toast!

I’d really give this place 3.5 stars if I could. Had the breakfast plate that’s available during lunch hours. Love that! 2 eggs, sausage, English muffin and rosemary potatoes. I believe they use Zenner’s sausage as I saw them making a delivery. The rosemary potatoes were very good. Boyfriends Industrial Burger looked great and he gave it a thumbs up. Service was slow. So was the kitchen. I’ve had the hash in the past, and the other negative reviews are correct IMO. Such a tiny portion of food for $ 14. I could make an entire corned beef myself for that.

I had watched the episode of Diners, Drive Ins and Dives with this restaurant and had wanted to try it for a while. So when my husband and I found ourselves in the area, we made it a point to stop in. It’s a little tiny place, that you can pass right by if you aren’t paying attention. Parking is on the street. We had to park a couple streets away and walk, but it wasn’t a big deal. The weather was nice and exercise is always good. We went in on a Thursday around 6:30, and it wasn’t terribly busy. I am generally paranoid about a restaurant that isn’t busy because it seems like the service always tends to suck versus in the middle of a rush. I was rather impressed that the service was excellent. I only saw two employees, the server/bartender and I presume the cook. My husband and I both ordered burgers. I had the industrial burger and he had a spicy one with grilled jalapeños. They were cooked to order, medium rare. The bacon was incredible. It was thick cut, cooked to perfection without being overdone. I typically don’t order a burger with fried eggs on them because I despise runny eggs. I was impressed by the fact my egg was pretty thoroughly cooked with only a small amount of yolk being runny. So it wasn’t gross, it was perfect. Our waitress was very helpful, answered our questions and was prompt. She checked on us at the right intervals, so we always had everything we needed without being obnoxious. She was patient as we discussed things and gave recommendations. I thought the prices were fine, I didn’t think it was over priced by any near means. Two burgers, an iced tea and dessert was around $ 32. The portions were good. My husband had to help me finish my burger. It is definitely a place I would return to when I’m in the area. The décor and atmosphere was neat. My husband was entertained by the urinal in the men’s room with the lights, pipes and gauges. I saw it myself and will admit it was creative. For such a small restaurant, it feels relaxed and happy, instead of crowded.

Had the chipped beef and fiancé had the salmon omelet. The cream sauce for the beef was really delicious… a little on the salty side, especially with the house-cured beef, but with the potatoes, it’s not too bad. It’s a bit pricey($ 13.50), but it was a pretty large helping. I couldn’t even finish it. So, I’d it’s enough for two. The toast was perfect. The salmon was very good as well. Love the dill cream sauce on top. Nice little spot… will definitely be back.

A pleasant and interesting café that serves quality food but prices are on the higher side. I order a smoked salmon omelette($ 13) served with potatoes(fried rosemary potatoes) you also have a choice of toast or English muffin, I skipped the bread option. I could not detect the rosemary. My friends ordered the Gears and Gravy better known as biscuits and gravy($ 9.50 or half for $ 5) and the Hash($ 13.50.) We ate our meals and when we left we discussed our experience. We all agreed the food was bland and that it was presented in a pleasing manner by a nice server in a timely fashion. Service — 4 stars Selection — 4 stars Server — 4 stars Food — 2 stars Prices — 2 stars Parking — 2 stars We’re glad we went but we won’t be back only because there are so many other places that are 4 and 5 stars across the board.

Visiting from Seattle and looking for a good breakfast place one Sunday morning. It was lovely! We were able to sit outside with our dog, the staff was pretty nice and attentive, and the prices were reasonable for Sunday brunch(except the mimosas, but mimosas are almost always overpriced). I got the biscuits and gravy — the biscuits were fine, not the best I’ve had but certainly not the worst. but the sausage gravy was OHMYGODAMAZING! It was so good I was just eating spoonfuls of gravy by the end. Will definitely be back.

A little off the beaten path, and well worth it. You’ll find slightly easier parking than on nearby 23rd establishments. Front tables are an option on a nice day or enjoy the industrial(hence the name) vibe the restaurant interior offers. Servers were all friendly and welcoming. Coffee was good and strong! I wouldn’t try Chipped Beef on Toast just anywhere, but had a pretty good idea from the description that this version would be a winner. With the exception of a lack of salt, they nailed it. The Rosemary Potatoes were nearly absent on the rosemary, unfortunately very heavy on over-doneness.
