I love love luuuuhrv this spot! They always have a deep selection of sizes and styles. I’ve found wardrobe stables(my favorite cream button up & great red plaid skirt), as well as great costume and party outfits. The day I found roller skates my size was mythic! And my super stylish bright pink umbrella was taken from their caché of vintage wood handled hanging umbrellas. Amazing every time!

I adore this place. The vintage dresses and purses are really fun and from so many different eras. They have both men’s and women’s clothing and I think it is very reasonably priced. The staff has always been extremely kind and helpful. Always stop here when we are in the neighborhood!

My goodness how I adore this place! I’ve always shopped at malls or department stores but my friend finally pulled me into this place. The stuff are adorable! After looking though all the items I finally found an adorable 60 – 80’s(?) purse that I’m mad about. The prices are reasonable and the lady who owns the place is super nice and amazing. Is kind of off the beaten path but I defiantly think its worth the trip.

I’ve had sour grapes about this place since the first time I was in there and the dude working accused me of shoplifting. Apparently he thought I’d slipped a pair of earrings into my bag when in fact it was my car keys. It wasn’t that he’d made an honest mistake that upset me, because I know that shoplifting happens and props to him for being on the lookout… it was totally the way he brought it up to me. It was SO rude and accusing and completely embarrassed me… I couldn’t even continue shopping there after he’d realized his mistake and apologized, I was too uncomfortable and flustered. After vowing never to go in there again, I did months later because I needed something for a costume. I love the items they carry, and think their prices are very fair. Plus it’s pretty close to my house and a fun place to pop into every once in awhile. I’m trying to get over my experience and let it be water under the bridge because I actually do like the store… but I guess I just felt like I needed to write this review to make peace with my feelings about the place, and hopefully if the dude reads this, he’ll learn a little lesson on customer service?

Um… not to knock a prior review, however, I do not understand the statement«they do not have vintage prices». I got stranded here on a trip to PDX on a seemingly nice day that suddenly turned into a torrential downpour, so I ducked into Fringe for some shelter. This proved to be a most dangerous place to hide out and I walked away with a purple vinyl jacket(looks just like leather) and a white purse. I wanted to walk away with the aforementioned items PLUS a cool office chair, living room chair, blue glass beads and size 9 vintage cream pumps that another bitch beat me to! It’s not that anything was over the top expensive, but sadly, I’m unemployed and the $ 15.99 I paid for both items was as far as I could stretch my dollar. I must say though, that the prices were all beyond fair and that although Fringe may be a block or two off the beaten path, I found the best, affordable additions to my wardrobe here, and they serve free PBR on Friday’s. So, several weeks later, I am still getting constant compliments on the purse. It cost me an arm and a leg at $ 8.00. I’m also still mentally dating a few of the items I passed up and am contemplating calling the store to hold them for me although I know the chances that they are still there are slim. I could have easily stayed here for hours, examining the weird books, necklaces and awesome vintage styles for girls AND boys! If you find yourself in Portland, fringe is well worth checking out. I bet you’ll get your new compliment item. All the cool kids are doing it.

We get up to Portland about once a year and always make time for shopping because OHMANTHEVINTAGE, it is not all picked over and destroyed like what little is left here in the bay, there are so many cute little shops and cute little dresses in outstanding condition for not a lot of money, and I am so glad we happened across this gem during our last visit — giant sale rack out front, you step in and everything’s sorted so neatly and it’s all fabulous and you would be a fool not to stop by.

Like most vintage stores, there’s a good mix of super cute and disgustingly hideous items. I guess it’s all a matter of taste. Fringe also seems to have a weird mix of prices. Some things are pretty cheap, while others are outrageous. I guess it probably depends on who did the pricing for the day. What sets Fringe apart is the great atmosphere. The store is adorable. The employees are just awesome. And if you go in on a Friday, they’ll offer you a free PBR. Pretty great in my opinion. Oh, and they have cute little vintage finds for your house. Just adorable.

This is one of my favorite stores in Portland. It’s located just a few blocks from my studio, so I am tempted on a daily basis. Every time I go in, I walk out with something perfectly old, affordable, and fashionable.

i hesitated. boy have i hesitated. why has this place not been reviewed? is everyone in on some joke except me? seemingly, nothing seems wrong with fringe vintage. but please, if i shouldn’t be shopping here, i would love to be clued it. vintage cocktail dresses. vintage slips. vintage skirts. vintage sweaters. vintage shoes, bags, jewelry… the list is endless. they do not have vintage prices. but it’s ok. it’s doable, especially when you find that PERFECT little white eyelet sweater that would haunt you for years if you didn’t buy it.
