I’ve gone here a few times but I don’t think I’ll be going again. I feel bad saying that because the staff is super nice and friendly! However, they don’t seem to really listen to you and what you want… plus we were kind of hurried out and my nails were still pretty wet apparently because I touched something and they got super messed up. It was $ 30 for an acrylic set, and I feel like when you spend $ 30 on something it should be good quality. I just consistently have felt like when it comes to a manicure here it’s not.
I will say however, that the pedicures are great here! Chairs are comfy, and I have no complaints with my pedicures I’ve gotten from them.
I would recommend pedicures, but probably best to go elsewhere for manicures, shellac and acrylic. Sorry!

Good chairs, massage was great by nail guy, and they spent a long time on me. Convenient location and parking was not an issue, but I think anyone coming in can tell this place is not the most super clean. It’s passable, but not what you really want when you are getting your nails done and you fear germs. But because 98 percent of nail shops are vaguely of the same level or worse, looking for a clean nail shop is like a unicorn quest. If you have appropriate expectations and don’t care too much about super good service, this could be a great place to get a budget pedi. But go in to any of these places knowing you get what you pay for with cheap nail servics. Don’t complain later and act shocked.

Very poor experience today and I won’t return. I made an appointment for me and my two young daughters but they kept allowing walk-​ins and got so busy that they left me sitting there for 15 minutes between cleaning my feet and actual polishing, so that they could work on other people. Add to this the fact that the woman who took my money got confused and shortchanged me by $ 20! I’d given her 3 $ 20 bills to cover the cost, and then handed her another $ 20 to break into change so I could leave tips for everyone. But she had no change for a $ 20 so she walked away with it and started asking all the people who worked there. When she came back, she tried to say I’d never handed it to her, that I’d put it back into my wallet! I was very clear that I’d given it to her but she wouldn’t budge. Another customer said she’d seen her hand the $ 20 to one of the people who gave her change but he said she didn’t. Needles to say… I left no tips for anyone. I guess in that regard, we’re even!

Would give it a solid 3 starts. I have been twice. The place is clean. They fit me in on short notice. Efficient. The pedi is just marginal in my opinion. My fave Pedicurist is in Beaverton and I need someone on the East side. The search continues!

I went in for a shellac manicure. I was seated right away which was nice. But then she sliced my finger open with the emery board and, even though it was bleeding, ignored it. Then she took 45 minutes to apply the polish– it took forever– possibly because she did no less than six coats of polish. The shellac was so thick and clumpy that part of a nail chipped off the very next day. THE NEXT DAY! A good shellac will last at least two weeks. I didn’t even go back to have them fix it because I didn’t want a second subpar manicure from them. I went to I Love Nails a few blocks down instead for a polish change. They cost $ 5 more, but the increase in skill and quality was worth it.

I had not been to Envy Nails since moving to Clackamas a few years ago. I came again with my daughter for pedicures today. It was busy and we didn’t have appointments so waited about 30 mins… Worth the wait! Awesome attention to detail, clean, friendly, and fantastic leg/​foot massages! All that for the same price you would pay in a mall… We will definitely be back!

Envy Nails is a neighborhood salon; it’s super close to where I live so it’s inevitably a «go to.» Today my experience was not so great… I usually get shellac manicures but today I tried a pink and white. Outside the price list says $ 40 for pink and white full set but inside it says $ 50. I confirmed with the nail technician that I was only paying $ 40, which for nails makes me a little uneasy because their solar powders aren’t fantastic compared to other salons who specialize. Anyway, she said yes quietly and somewhat aggressively in response to my simple… question… she began gluing tips on my nails frantically and getting her skin stuck on my nails which she just tugged off making it uncomfortable for the both of us. She switched off with one of the male nail techs who usually does a great job but eh… this time was ok. My nails were farrrr too short and there was way too much white on my nails, maybe a flaw on my part but the point of me getting pink and white versus french acrylic was so I could have a thin white (French) on my nails. After almost two hours spent in the chair, having the drill graze my cuticles numerous times making me flinch and tense up my fingers, he applies what looks like a clear top coat but he gets out the UV gel light? Okay, I ask for gel. He refrained from telling me it was going to cost me extra… for something I didn’t even mention or ask for. He then leaves me to just get up and pay… I had the intent of paying $ 40, we all know this, «$ 45 please» …SERIOUSLY. I’m sorry, I’m a stingy student, living off little cash and today I splurged, didn’t like the nails that where densely adhered onto my fingers and wasn’t trying to pay close to $ 50 that I didn’t agree on. I said, «excuse me? It says $ 40 on your sign outside and I asked if that was corrected and she confirmed it was. I’m playing that much.» She tried explaining gel was going to add $ 5 onto my total and I said I didn’t ask for him to do that. I tried standing my ground but I felt really embarrassed because I was left with nails that looked really cheap and I paid a ridiculous amount of money for them. I left after they shook the $ 45 out of me and went home and cried. Sure, it’s just nails — but I felt really stupid and felt it was hard to communicate with the staff even though the only time it was difficult to communicate with them is when it came down to money. Quite frankly, felt cheated out of my bucks and will not return. Shame. Don’t let these people shake money out of you!

Such awesome service. Clean facility, precise and thorough pedicure. Even stayed late for me because I called ahead. Yay!

I agree with some of the commenters that it is possible to wind up with a technician who isn’t as skilled/​gentle as the others, yet I have had this exact same experience at every salon I have been to in my life.
I give specific directions to whomever does my nails, regardless of the salon, and since I have started doing that, I have never been cut again (i.e. «please don’t over trim my cuticles, only focus on the ones that really need it and leave the others alone»).
They are very friendly here and take their time, unlike the huge place across street closer to 28^th and Broadway that rushes and shoves people in and out as quickly as possible to make as much money as they can (yeah, you know what place I’m talking about). I never feel rushed or hurried along in here, ever.
It is also very clean in here, which I really appreciate. This is the only salon I go to now.

This is my go-​to salon for a great manicure with no fuss. My daughter enjoys it too and gets extra special treatment from the kind women who work there. Tip-​top!

I didn’t have an appt but they got me right in! The massage chair was awesome and my pedicure is fantastic. I also absolutely love my mani. today was the first time I’ve had shellac done. Love it!!! The leg and foot massage was great and so was the hand and arm massage! I feel fantastic and look great too!!!

My hunch is that my negative experience at Envy is more about the specific person who did my manicure than it is about the place in general (which may be great), but I have to say I have never had a manicure that hurt. This one did.

Waited 30 min before the guy started on my pedicure. He was very rough scrubbed my toes super hard. His attempt at trimming my cuticles left them bleeding in a few places. I hate to give envy nails a bad review, because I have had good pedicures here before, but this one was just horrible. I felt like he should have been paying me on the way out instead of vice-​versa.

I’ve been to Envy 3 times. They are incredibly attentive and I will definitely continue going to them. It is a peaceful, clean, and nice-​smelling place and I always feel relaxed in there.
Be aware that pedicures can take a LONG time. I’ve spent 1 hour 15 minutes in there just for a pedicure before. It’s blissful if you have the time :)
I dropped a star off because they did my manicure while I was getting the pedicure. For some people, that might be a nice convenience, but it was very distracting and more than a little awkward, because the woman doing my nails could only stand on one side (so I had to reach across with my other hand the whole time).

Envy Nails is one of thee best Nail Salons that I’ve found and tried out in the Portland area. I had a nail tech that I had been going to for the last ⁴⁄₅ years until she moved back to Arizona. :-(I had heard many great things about Envy Nails so I decided to check it out and let’s just say that I haven’t been anywhere else since I’ve started coming here.
The staff here are really nice and take pride in making sure that you’re satisfied with the work that you’ve had done. The pedicures are absolutely amazing along with their nail technique.
Tea or water while you wait? It’s available.
I definitely recommend Envy Nails. Check it out. You won’t be disappointed.

My friends/​coworkers go here. It’s close to our work, affordable, and they offer massages with manis.
The problem is, the services they offer change on how busy or understaffed they are, but the price for service doesn’t.
My friends got relaxing shoulder/​back massages. I was borderline tortured.
My cuticles were cut so much that I bled. They weren’t bad to begin with.
She just kept cutting and rinsing the blood off in the water bowl, then wiping it on the towel. When the alcohol hit my cuticles it burned like hell. That’s when I realized it was no bueno.
Then the «massage» came. She pressed/​rubbed so hard that I have bruises on my forearms right before vacation.
«Is she a heroin addict, or did she just get a mani at Envy?»
The latter portion of the massage involved punching me up and down my arm to my shoulders. That didn’t relax me until I was walking to my car.
The polish itself seems decent. It was only $ 25 for shellac. $ 25 blood sacrifice.

I’m a War Vet and an American Gentleman from Los Angeles who gets the pedi/​mani twice per month, for years. This is the best spot I’ve ever experienced.
There is not another place outside SE Asia that will massage you like that for this kind of money. Screw these comments about the décor. I go to Vegas for all my glam and glitz. And I go to Envy nails for the superior service to my nails, cuticles, AND toes, soles, feet, fingers, palms, hands, forearms, and SPIRIT.
I’m sure all the ladies are awesome. My first, and only experience here was with Tracie. She used all kinds of expert gadgets, scrubbers, and moisturizers that other salons would never use. She really took her time with me, and gave special attention to every detail of every digit. The cuticle work is flawless, in every respect. Perfect and consistent nail shaping. Gentlemen don’t get polish, of course, but she buffed the nail ridges out with the masculine finish on the surface (nicely buffed, but not shiny). Then she gave me a super long massage. I don’t know how long it was, because I was in Heaven at the time.
I highly recommend Envy Nails for ladies or gentlemen. I won’t go anywhere else in Portland from now on.

I went to this nail salon based on all the other great reviews of the place and was pretty excited to go; however, I was not impressed with my pedicure. I felt uncomfortable as I was asked to sit down in a spa chair just a few chairs away from a employee who was also in a spa chair that had her headphones in and taking a nap with her feet up. The pedicure itself wasn’t the most horrible experience ever, but I did not get any massage like the other reviewers mentioned. The lady helping me did not pay attention to detail and was somewhat haphazardly just going through the motions. The application of the nail polish was good and lasted for a few weeks.
The most icky thing: they painted my nails before putting back on my flip-​flops or providing any sort of cheap foam flip-​flops (though I wasn’t even expecting these.) That wouldn’t have been a big deal if they did not have me to get up after they were finished and walk across, in my bare feet, their gross green carpet covered in other people’s cut nails, nail dust, and who-​knows-​what-​else to go to the drying station (which was dirty and messy with old magazines strewn all over.) I was completely grossed out that they had me walk across the floor in my barefoot. Never have a I been to a nail salon and have them ask me to do that. Also, it wasn’t apparent that they cleaned their tools after each use with a customer.
There were 4 – 5 employees who stood/​napped around the whole time and chatted or did each others nails. I feel like the place could have been kept up better with such a large staff on a quiet afternoon.

I’ve lived in Portland proper for a decade. If you include suburbia, I’ve lived in the Portland area for almost 15 years. That’s a long time. For a majority of that time, I had a disposable income. (That means I work in the service industry, and before I was a restaurant manager, I was a server and bartender and had cash tips to spend on any kind of frivolous frivolties I felt like. Which usually included cocktails, clothes and books, with an occasional pedicure thrown in.)
What that means: I spent a large portion of my 20’s getting frequent pedicures and occasional manicures. I know my nail salons. And while I no longer have the cash to spring for pretty colors on my digits as frequently these days, I definitely find my way to nail salon several times a year (especially in the summmmmmertime).
Every nail salon I’ve been has been okay. No place made me want to swear my loyalty. Until I went to Envy Nails last week. What has given my bees their knees?
I’ll tell you:
* They take credit cards. Again, as a person who doesn’t make cold hard cash anymore, a nail salon that takes debit or credit cards is automatically on my good list.
* They are suuuuuper nice. Sometimes you’ll get people who keep trying to upsell you, but these ladies just did their thing and were sweet the whole time.
* They have yellow nail polish. Not unique, perhaps, but totally feeds my current yellow fetish.
* They give you a massage! The lady doing my nails came out from behind her desk while painting my nails and actually massaged my neck and shoulders for a few minutes. Blissful.
* Prices are competitive: for a mani/​pedi, I spent $ 35, plus tip.
* Envy Nails is just down the street from my house, and convenience plays a big role in where I end up.
I have been (half-​heartedly) looking for a go-​to nail salon for the few times a year I want to pretty-​fy my toes, and I have found it. Holllller.

I’ve found one other place in the metro area I love. And I think this place just beat it out. I took my daughter there for a special birthday treat. We each got a mani/​pedi. While the girl doing my daughter’s services didn’t take quite as long as my girl did, she still did everything I had done. And she painted little flowers on her nails.
They take their time. We were there for just over 2 hours including drying time. The massage is the best part. Everyone did a very long massage, even massaging all the way up my arms. It was heavenly. They didn’t use the UV lights for my nails (some people like them, some don’t, just so you know what to expect.) They do the new shellac polish as well for an additional fee ($ 10 I think) which I didn’t feel up for.
So pedis, cause this is why most of us go… They did a good job, no scrub, which I would have preferred. She didn’t take a long time on my feet, getting them smooth. But the massage more than made up for it. She used a combo of oil and lotion so my legs were like butter afterward! The massage chairs are very nice, even have the leg (butt) massage part. She clipped back my cuticles, which not all places do and I appreciated. The girls are not very talkative, the English wasn’t strong and I’m assuming that’s why they were quiet. It was very relaxing.
The center of the shop has the cash wrap and is kind of awkward. But all in all, there is more than enough space. It’s pretty standard nail shop décor, cheesy pictures on the wall, elevator music playing, i think there was a TV on the wall but I cant be sure. I don’t go to watch TV!
As a point of notice, they do take credit/​debit cards but only for purchases over $ 10 and if you get an inexpensive service (for example, when I got my brows waxed) they had to go to 2 different girls to make change. Not a big deal, just be aware. I have already made an appointment to go back again. There are usually several girls working and when I had scheduled an appointment, they were prompt. Looking forward to my next service.
Update: Took my guy for a pedi. He has hobbit feet. The girl didnt even wince. Just dove right in and tackled his toe nails and dry skin. Bonus points for this place!
