Elite Event: Frankenburger – The Yelpoween Party!

My first Elite Event! And it was Unilocaloween! Halloween is my favourite Holiday. Don B. and the Elite staffers really put together a fabulous event. Thank you guys. All the Elites were so friendly and welcoming.
The folks at Foster Burger did a terrific job of keeping everyone well-​fed and well-​hydrated. This was my first time at Foster Burger too but I can see myself returning for one of those amazing burgers and basket of crispy fries. I love those old fashioned styled fries and that fry-​sauce! And let’s not forget the cockshakes! OMG!!!
It was really wonderful meeting fellow Elites face to face and seeing all the creative costumes… really creative costumes… can’t wait for the next Elite Event!

Halloween is my favorite holiday and Unilocalers are my favorite crowd of peeps. What a combo! Foster Burger worked their booties off serving up delicious burgers and fries! So yummy. This was my first experience at FB and I will definitely be returning. Their brioche buns were so sinfully good. Honestly, they had my heart at the fry sauce. :)

My first Unilocal Elite party in Portland, and my first visit to Foster Burger!
We (my husband — Andy V.) and I arrived in our viking/​visigoth finery and enjoyed trying to fit our horned hats through the doorways. It was also funny to watch the reactions of the regular Foster Burger patrons as they watched us parade through the restaurant in our costumes.
We didn’t try any of the cocktails, but the C-​Note IPA was tasty as always, and the burgers were so tasty I had to have two. The house-​made pickles were also fantastic. The staff were working hard to keep all the Unilocalers fed and boozed, and did a great job.

My first Unilocal Elite event! It was a howling good time!
Halloween is one of favorite holidays and we always love getting dressed up. I was Aladdin and my wife was Princess Jasmine.
I didn’t mind the crowd. It’s a party! A party is only poppin if it is packed!
The service was unbelievably good. Foster Burger really stepped up their game and kept the food and drinks flowing.
Speaking of drinks… The Cherry LIbre was good. My favorite part was the candied cherry garnish. The Bloody Mary was better. From what I heard, it had just enough spice. I have a super high heat threshold, so the Bloody Mary wasn’t spicy at all to me. The in-​house pickled vegetable garnish was a great touch (no useless celery stick in here!) The cocktail shakes were THE BEST. I am not a fan of gussied-​up sweet drinks. I am a fan of delicious milkshakes. They should be called milkshake cocktails, because they are deliciously perfect milkshakes first and foremost. We had the chocolate banana. The alcohol did not alter the flavor in any way, yet somehow complimented it and you still knew it was an adult milkshake. I am definitely coming back for another one of the cock-​shakes.
On the Beer side. My wife and I loved the porter. We just love porters.
The burger and fry baskets were tasty. Disclaimer: I didn’t get to eat until several drinks in, so my buzz would have appreciated any kind of food. To get an accurate review of their burger, I would have to try a regular size burger so I can taste it cooked to order. You can’t really cook slider-​sized party portions medium. The speed an quality were top notch for our big party.
Kudos, to Don B. and his gang and everyone at Foster Burger for throwing the perfect party. My first Elite event was A Whole New World! (I was Aladdin, remember?)

As it has become expected of El Generale Don B. Castro who makes all the magic happen, he put on a great event! With an iron fist, he brought the prolitariat burger baskets, beer, wine, and some other Halloweenie drinks that all hit the spot.
As our glorious leader, we must never question his wisdom, no we should continue to build the cult of personality that exists now!
For burgers, for drinks, for the people, for our Dear Leader, long live the Yeeps!

This event should get bonus points for the pure hilarity of everyone’s costumes. My vote for best goes out to Olivia T as Snookie. EL OH EL

DAMN! This was my first Elite Event and it was fantastic! The place was packed with some great costumes and friendly faces. The staff worked their tails off keeping the crowd fed and liquored.

I had a great time at the party. I was a little nervous showing up, but once I was around all the great Unilocal Elites, I felt comfortable and had tons of fun. Thank you everyone for the kind comments about my costume and the votes at the end. Certainly made my Halloween!
I stuck with beer because I had to drive. I would have loved to have one of the Cherry Libres, they sounded great. The Lompoc beer was tasty, especially the Pumpkin Porter. I might have to go find that at the store. Gotta agree with the person who said the burgers were perfect portion sized, Gotta thank Marilyn Monroe for getting me that burger, too! (too much cheese flying around!)
The hosts were great, the servers awesome.
Also have to throw out a shout out thanks to Devon that I just met for the first time but gave me an assist with a wardrobe malfunction right at the beginning of the party. THANKS!

The Unilocaloween Party was so much fun. I represented Snooki and I approved this party to be one of the most fist pumping party in 2010. I’ve never seen so many creative, unique, beautiful, and fun costumes at one Halloween party. It was hard to choose whose costume was the best, but I truly love Jonathan S. as Katy Perry. He rocked those high heels and French tips nails.
Thank you Don Castro for another fun filled event. Thank you Foster Burger for hosting this event. Cheers for more Unilocaloween parties in the future!

Not being a burger consumer I was none the less happy when I was invited to attend Frankenburger — at Foster Burger. I love going to places that I would normally avoid and finding out that I want to go back!
Even though I was unable to wear either of my planned costumes due to being in the midst of a move and not being able to locate the needed bits and pieces of my planned mother earth or elf attire, all perilously hiding in a box I couldn’t reach with a pulled back muscle…
The Unilocaloween Party was Awesome Dude! Fidel and friends (Marilyn M and Banana Boy) were terrific hosts.
The staff was amazing! The enclosed patio a nice surprise. The generous baskets of food, ever flowing cocktails and wonderful costumed fellow Unilocalers made this a terrific way to spend a few Saturday afternoon hours.
I can’t wait to go back and order one of their shakes and a veggie burger!

I donned the cape and cowl as I made a little late entrance to the party, better late than never eh lol. With Ghostbusters and Wolverine in tow with me we were greeted by the banana man and made our way to the party. We first started off with spicy bloody mary’s and posed pics that «Marilyn Monroe» was shooting. A lot of costumes were creative, fun, and unique. It was great seeing some old faces that have been missing for a while and others I have become friends with as of late.
After a bit, baskets of burgers with fries appeared and the waitresses did not stop a beat. These were good size meals to fill the tummy. Burgers had a zip of butter flavor which was made next door at the bakery. I think I managed to try all the cocktails that were offered. The rum and cokes mixed with other goodies gave me a nice surprise while the greyhound had delicious chunks of fruit to quench my thirst. The cockshake was certainly a royal sweet frozen treat.
When I got nominated to be name tagged, the cape had to do since the chest part of the costume didn’t do so well. Thanks again Don for putting on a fabulous event as part of the halloween treat :).

The PDX Unilocal Elite team has done it again! This time it was at one of FoPo’s jewels, Foster Burger. This fun up and coming neighborhood has been put on the map by awesome new spots cropping up like Foster Burger, so it was a real treat to see Unilocalers young (well over 21) and old come out to check out their fantastic offerings. I’ve been to a bunch of Unilocal Events, in different states even, and I’ve got to say that this one was really up there.
There was NO shortage of amazing baskets full of just the right size (Foster Burger please put this portion on your menu, it was PERFECT) burgers slathered in swiss or cheddar cheese. Not to mention the amazing hand cut sweet potato french fries, and special sauce.
For libations there were 3 delightfully different mixed drinks, I sucked up my Greyhound, which seemed to have fresh squeezed grapefruit juice in it YUM and my plus one REALLY liked his Lompoc IPA.
For treats, there was the before mentioned candy, which was an awesome touch for those of us who will not be trick or treating this weekend, and the yummy cock-​shakes, which I noticed Foster Burger has all the time.
So once again Don B and crew (I’m betting one hot Marilyn and a banana may have had a little something to do with this one) YOU ROCK!!!
I am so glad to have the chance to witness such amazing costumes, great people and fantastic food. This one gets a 5+ stars for a rockin’ kick off to our Halloween weekend!!!
Also have to mention that the staff at Foster Burger was amazing. This event was PACKED and they managed to feed us with a smile. They get a big nod for great service.

Frida Kahlo and the Mexican Wrastler had nothing but good times drinking splendid cocktails, chowing down on juicy burgers, pickled veggies, and enjoying the company of fellow Unilocalists at this fantastic event. The servers were extra friendly and genuinely happy to have us.

I’ve always wanted to go to Foster Burger’s and today was my chance to not only try the food but celebrate Halloween with fellow Unilocal Elite and guests!
There was lots of free gear, stickers, pens, buttons and of course the candy for Halloween!
There were three kinds of beer from Lompoc and 2 wines (1 red and 1 white). There were several cocktails but my favorite was the milkshake with rum. There were a couple flavors being passed around but it was yummy with the delicious burger with fries. Not to mention the pickled veggies!
For the costume contest, I voted for Katy Perry and the Cocktail to win! There was a tie at the end of the contest between Katy Perry and Hide your children, Hide your wife.
Several mentioned costumes were the Pillsbury dough girl and The Pregnant/​Smoking/​Drinking woman were outrageously funny!
Don B. (I mean Fidel C.) and his elite entourage, Marilyn Monroe and Banana threw a wonderful event! Thanks for throwin’ a Frankenburger — Unilocal-​o-​ween party!

Is it disingenuous of I, Ramona Flowers, to say best elite event ever after each and every one? But Don keeps bringing it time and time again!
To my Yeeps, you beautiful people, you! Your costumes were awesome. So many inventive costumes. But of course my personal favorite was Kim V’s rendition of Antoine Dodson.
Foster Burger handled us well. They fed us well, too. One veggie burger had me stuffed. I’d definitely like to go back to further explore the burger options. I also get to giggle and tell all my friends I had a cockshake tonight. A creamy, white cockshake.

What a great time! The burgers were great and I enjoyed meeting many of you. Popeye and Olive Oyl were kind of wall flowers but we did indeed enjoy the festivites.
I voted for the «Up» girl to win but was still happy with the results. I look forward to many more events.

Fan-​Franken-​tastic event. I was not expecting entire baskets of food, or tray after tray of yummy cocktails. The pickled veggies on the tables were also a welcome hit.
Nice outdoor space, great company, and tremendous costumes. Honestly, based on this event, I may have to give this place another try.

How ’bout that food? Actual burger and fries baskets! They were pretty good; might have to come back.
My only complaint was that it was packed in the patio area and the heaters were on. Otherwise, props to Don B.
