Days Inn Portland/Gresham

Carpet was dirty sink was dirty the pillows had a smashed bug and blood on it. The tv only had ten channels the water in the tolite ran all night ants got all in my clothes. You also have to pay a 50 dollar deposit. You have to pay a 50 dollar deposit every time you reserve a room you also have to wait ten business days to get your deposit back. I will never stay there again.

At least my car didn’t get broken into like the other unlucky guest.
Location is horrible. The pictures don’t show that the hotel is actually behind a 24 hour McDonalds and a 24 hour gas station. Parts of the parking lot are dim and concealed from the main street. When I booked the hotel, I should have looked at the local crime rate prior to booking. Needless to say this hotel is not in the best neighborhood of Portland.
Price of room came with breakfast. If you consider breakfast, extremely limited beagles, English muffin, sliced bread, cereal, yogurt and a waffle maker with not enough seating area then it was great. Gluten free… good luck with that.
Bottom line– I will not be back.

We booked by actually calling them, and getting a room. About a week after we booked, the credit card we used was stolen and so we canceled the card and immediately got a new one so we could charge the room to the new card. We get there, and without calling, emailing, or any form of letting us know, they just canceled our room. No call or email to see if we had a new card, or other form of payment, or even to let us know it was canceled. Normally we’d just get another room in Portland, however, no rooms were available anywhere. The closest room we could get was in The Dalles, 80 minutes away. We spoke to the manager, and her solution was «deal with it, not my problem.» I’ve never seen such horrible customer service at any hotel, and I will never stay at a Days Inn again after this experience. All the 1 star reviews for this hotel are spot on, and I wish I would have listened to them.

Just stayed for 3 nights with my daughter’s basketball team. Would never stay there again. Terrible customer service. Rooms were dirty. Free breakfast was crap. Couldn’t wait to leave. Would of paid more to stay at Four Points just up the street. Couldn’t believe they asked us to be quiet in the lobby when we were just talking using the wifi as it never worked in the rooms. Obviously customer service isn’t on their radar. I would never recommend this hotel.

BEWARE!!! So I booked with Travelocity and had no problem checking in friendly service, then when it came time to go to bed I felt like I was being bit on my feet. In the middle of the night it was so bad that I got up and turned the light on to find an adult size bed bug by my feet while looking some more I see another. I was able to smash it (full of blood) they changed me rooms at 3am but i haven’t had any other help from the manager or staff. Would you want to stay another night? I think it would be proper to give a refund.

Great hotel that is still nearby to the Portland attractions. I know it’s not a 5 star hotel and wasn’t expecting luxury appointments so can’t complaint about it being a little outdated on décor. But for the price it’s a fantastic value since only used it to sleep. The beds were comfortable and the room was clean. Definitely would stay there again.

Room was very clean, kids enjoyed the pool as well. Although, I do not recommend staying here because of their terrible customer service (front desk attendants). Paiying customers do not deserve disrespect.

Wish I could give less than one star. Been here for 30 minutes. Lady at the front counter is horrible at customer service. Very rude. Childish. Never stay here. Go far away!

If I could give this place no stars I would!!!
I would not recommend this place to anyone!!! I stayed there a week and the first night we got in pretty late and the room we had the toilet felt like it was going to break, the lock didn’t work, the floors were so dirty it was tough to let my infant daughter crawl on them so I went the next morning and told them, the gentleman was nice enough to move me to the next room which was easy for me cause I had an infant and had to move all my things by myself with her. Well while in that room the room next to us had a conjoining door and as I was feeding my daughter I over heard them talking about the different effects that herion and crack does to you so I went and told them I wasn’t comfortable with that as I had not only my daughter there with me but my teenage sons coming to visit while I was there (I’m from Texas visiting my boys) so they moved me to the 4^th floor. This room was the best out of them all. Newer beds I guess and the floor was cleaner almost looked like newer carpet. Well we continued our week there and I wanted to stay one more night so I called the front desk and asked if I got another night would I need to change rooms. Stephanie said she didn’t know. Well I got another night and she made me go down to the 2^nd floor again into the room I was in first. She said the issue had been fixed (which it hadn’t) so I had to pack up all of our things that we had been for a week (nothing’s in place etc) and move my daughter and I down 2 floors again.
The manager Stephanie was VERY rude a true bitch, that I called customer care on her 3 times just in the morning. I went to talk to the GM and all he could tell me was that she’s been with them a long time and that’s just the way she is.
From the looks of the reviews I’ve seen she’s a big complaint and they continue to keep her…
Needless to say there are a few other hotels around there that I would recommend you go to instead of this place.
Guesthouse, rodeway, extended stay have got to be better!

The room was clean but hotel is due for an update, very aged and showing, breakfast was mediocre at best, old bananas, everything in bulk instead of individual packaging. Not very sanitary, I would not stay here again, much better options for the same money near by. Neighborhood is rough and very few option for food or meals with out a car.
The staff is very friendly so that was very nice

Good selection in their breakfast. The shower door was sucky and so was the shower head and wooden sliding door didn’t lock. But overall the room was roomy, had a refrig and microwave. Pets are allowed here, so the carpets are little gross and grimy, but I wore my flip flops all the time. The parking looks a little shady, saw ppl looking through the dumpster. Pillows were way too soft, but the hotel wasn’t noisy at all and we got a good nights rest. Super friendly staff. I’d stay here again.

The pool was heated perfect!!! I hate when the indoor pools are freezing and you feel like its an outdoor pool! No hot tub :(and no bathroom in the pool area. The room was very spacious. Beds were comfy. There was no tub just a shower and the desk chair was broke. The breakfast was ok they had pastries and fruit as well as the waffle maker and cold rolls n gravy. The lady that did the front desk In the evening on Saturday night was really nice and great! This hotel had some things I loved and some things I didn’t like

This place wasn’t as bad as some of the reviews indicated. The room was clean, but the bed was pretty uncomfortable. We chose this place because we have two cats that travel with us. They were the only motel we could find that would take our cats. The other options was a seriously nasty long-​term resident place we didn’t even want to drive into.
The folks working there were all very nice. We were there for three nights while our RV was being fixed down the street. We would stay here again if we needed a place to go with the cats.
The breakfast area is really small and people swarm it. I only found halves of muffins and some fruit by the time I got there, but they did have two awesome waffle makers… I just didn’t want to wait for them. There are two places for breakfast up the street (going away from the highway). The closest is Francis Xavier’s and a little further down is Shari’s. Of course, if you eat McDonald’s, they are roll-​out-​of-​bed-​walk-​across-​the-​parking-​lot kind of close.
Parking is really tight and it can be frustrating, particularly when a truckload of guys show up in large work trucks and take up 2 or more spaces. There is no large vehicle parking anywhere nearby.
Behind the motel is a vacant lot, full of wild blackberries! Yum!

To be honest, we chose this location because it was the cheapest place closest to the relatives we were visiting. It was an impromptu stay, we had not anticipated staying the night, but didn’t feel like driving home and wanted to visit Powell’s the next day.
That being said, it was a pretty nice experience. The parking lot was well lit and we found a close space, the lobby was clean, the lady behind the desk was friendly enough. It felt a little sketchy that after hours you have to be buzzed into the lobby, but maybe that’s how they do things in P-​town. The lady at the desk refused to give us a military discount. So much for appreciating those who serve our country, huh?
The room was enormous. We got the king sized room for $ 52. We didn’t need the coffee maker, microwave or fridge, but we got them anyway. The view left much to be desired, as our room looked out on an abandoned and dirty parking lot.
Either the hotel was deserted, everyone in it was respectful or it is sound construction, because we didn’t hear much noise during the night and we were staying right by the staircase and elevators.
I guess we missed the window for the continental breakfast, but there is a McDonalds in the same parking lot, so we just got food from there.
The shower in the room is amazing but there was a pube on the shower head. There was no heat lamp in the bathroom so I was freezing when I got out, but the water pressure was decent and the shower stall could accommodate the biggest of fatties.
The lady behind the front desk was just absolutely disinterested in customer service and acted as if we were interrupting her private time when we needed to check out.

Don’t do it! I pulled off the highway late night in the middle of a move. Normally I book hotels via my android using
, but it was after 11PM so I couldn’t get one booked online for the same night. I pulled into the Days Inn thinking it was a national chain… how bad could it be?
I checked in and then took my dog for a walk. During the 10 minutes we were outside I saw at least 3 junkie tweekers buying drugs (I saw the prescription bottles in their hands…) Needless to say, I should have followed my instincts and moved to a different hotel…
The room had a foul odor. The sheets were stained with what looked like blood. The walls were so thin we could hear people coughing in the hallways, stomping around upstairs, garbage trucks in the parking lot… In fact the only thing we couldn’t hear was our car window getting broken… (undoubtedly by the junkie tweekers we’d seen earlier.)
Since the hotel is «not responsible for lost or stolen property» and the police in Portland can’t really do much, I was SOL.
When I spoke with the woman at the front desk about the room problems and the break in, she kicked me out of the lobby…
Mine wasn’t the only car broken into that night. The other victim got it worse than we did…
Funny, neither one of us got an apology or a refund.
The bottom line is — if you’re looking for a hotel on a budget, don’t stay here… Instead of paying the $ 46 rack rate, I ended up paying over $ 200 for a whole new window.
I guess the employees are just too busy hanging out with junkies and drunks to care about the well-​being of their sober paying guests…
If I could give this place negative stars, I would…
Since we were in the middle of a long cross-​country move, we’ve stayed in a lot of budget hotels lately. This Days Inn was measurably the worst by a landslide. Take a left off the 84 and stay at the Hampton Inn instead… Gross Gross Gross.
I needed a shower after my shower.
Oh and also, my dog kept scratching at something under the bed… who the hell knows what was under there.

This was a decent hotel. I was stranded in Portland because I was in between flights. Days Inn was at just the right price – $ 67 including tax for a king size bed. There was free continental breakfast and wifi! There was a great taqueria around the corner, and Walmart was nearby (I needed to get a new phone at 9pm during an ice storm). The rooms were clean, and the shower was perfect.
The customer service was courteous, especially the woman who was there the morning I checked out. She had to deal with a drunkard who had destroyed his room and was still drunk in the morning. And she was very clear, composed, and rational with him. I was impressed. I would have gone crazy on him.
I agree with Loree that it was hard to find things in the dining area, but I managed. It’s not too far from the airport – there is a direct road to it from there – just follow 181^st ave, which turns into NE airport way!

I feel I must go one up on my other half…
Price was great for 5 of us… $ 76 for 2 queen beds and a roll-​away in a CLEAN Room with a microwave, nice sized fridge, which was capable of keeping all of the necessary things cold plus more.
The Customer Service was phenomenal, she was very very good at her job and liked being there which is something you don’t find at most hotels of that nature.
She was very helpful in directing us to a target so we could get swimsuits in the middle of the winter.
As for breakfast the next morning all it took was asking the guy at the front desk and the gentleman that handles that was all over. Moving like a lil «Speedy Gonzalez», and Im not sayin that because he was hispanic either but next thing I knew… POOF. KAPOW… all was there in addition to him handling a spill of some idiot who can’t pour coffee into his 64 oz. Super-​Monster Coffee Gulp…2 straws!!!
Great access to HWY 26 which got us up and over Mt Hood with little problems.
Great Place and will definitely return if needed…

Not too shabby for the price. $ 76 got us a 2-​queen bed room. Beds are very comfy, but bring extra blankets, because theire comforters are as thin as the sheets. The hotel smells like a roller skating rink… the staff is VERY friendly and helpful.
We weren’t planning on going in the pool until last minute, but the pool was a great temp, though the pool room was a bit chilly.
When we went down to the complimentary breakfast, nothing was out and ready. No plates or bowls, no waffle mix (you can make your own waffles), it was hard to find things, yet the kitchen/​dining area was small.
It’s recommended for a quick, one-​night stay for a great price.
