George is awesome! He and his mechanics work hard and do a great job! I would highly recommend this shop to anyone. Be prepared to wait a few days for your car as he is always busy, but well worth the wait!

George the Owner really cares about his customers, and is very honest, knowledgeable, high integrity and his employees are very amazing mechanics, they are experts. We have used Burnside Auto for two vehicles for the last five years. They have always met and exceeded our expectations. The prices are fair and accurate.
As one example of how far they go to help, just yesterday George was helping me troubleshoot some road noise. He helped on a Saturday when the shop is normally closed. He drove around with me on his own time so we could try to identify the noise.
As another example, a couple years ago our car broke down up the Columbia Gorge on a weekend. We had it towed to Burnside Auto and they stayed open on the weekend to receive the car and they got it fixed very quickly. Totally saved us a lot of hassle with service above and beyond.
I don’t think I have ever received such consistently fine service and friendly help from any shop over the decades I have had to have cars serviced in the different states I lived in.
Five years ago someone recommended Burnside Auto to me and I wholeheartedly recommend them to others.

George explains problems and solutions in an easy-​to-​understand manner. He will even advise you on repairs you can get away with delaying until a future date to keep your bill lower. I’ve been coming here since I bought my car in 2007. I won’t’ go anywhere else! I trust George completely with my car. When something was sounding funny and it was still under warranty, he even wrote me a note to bring to the dealer so they wouldn’t be dismissive of me. Great place!

Best most honest shop I have ever been to. Just had my timing belt and knock sensor replaced for a very reasonable price. Both mechanics and owner are great. Stopped in twice prior to dropping my truck off just to feel them out. I had already talked to 5 other shops and these cats are the bees knees!

My ’85 Volvo died on me at the gas station on Grand on a SATURDAY! Not many mechanics are open on Saturdays… I called up Burnside Auto Repair as it was very close to see if they could help.
Long story short I got my car towed there quickly and was attended promptly. They got my car going within a few hours and I received an amazing education from the owner about basic car care.
Very honest work at a reasonable rate.
The owner George took the time to educate me about what was really going on and why. I have never met another mechanic who actually takes the time to explain.
I will coming back for sure.

Boyfriend and I have just taken our (ford) truck here for the second time…
Both times we’ve needed to take the truck in, it’s been urgent, and they’ve always been super helpful in accommodating us. They are kind, honest, and work hard to get things done in a timely manner.
The first time we were there, we had a busted timing belt (among other things) and got the truck back the next day. I was impressed. Yes it cost a lot of money (for me), but the mechanics in the family who live out of state assured us that we were getting a fair («great,» actually) deal.
This morning we had to take the truck in because some fu*ker DRILLED A HOLE in the gas tank, beneath the truck. Nice. I thought it was going to be a small fortune to replace the thing, but they were able to find a used part and call us back with a surprisingly low estimate within an hour. It will probably be ready tomorrow. yay!
Seriously, these guys are great.
The shop isn’t fancy. It’s dirty and greasy and there’s clipboards with paperwork all over the counter in the office, but these guys are professionals. Take your car here if you are looking for an honest neighborhood mechanic.
Oh– and stay vigilant, peeps. Drilling gas tanks seems like a new low. And the guys at Burnside Auto Repair said they’ve seen a few of these lately.
