Sometimes awesome things just happen to you! The fiancé and I were hanging out at Back Pedal Brewing enjoying some brewskies and playing corn hole when I nice older lady came up to us and asked if we wanted to join her group on the BrewCycle since a couple of their family members cancelled. It was completely paid for so of course we said YES! Our tour guide, ALEC was AWESOME! We did the dive bar route visiting Lucky Lab, Joe’s Cellar, and Yur’s Bar and had a GREATTIME! Alec was fun, friendly, and the perfect person to guide the group to greatness! I had been saying I wanted to try to BrewCycle for a while now and I guess we just happened to be in the right place at the right time! It’s a bummer you can’t drink beer ON the cycle, but I’m not sure I could anyway, because that ish is HARDWORK! Get ready to get your leg workout in for the day, for sure!

【Recommended】 Pretty fun. $ 20/person when I went in 2015 【 The price is now $ 25/person as of 2016 】 The brew cycle bike seats 15. We had 25 minutes at each bar to chug down beers. The rest of the time was for cycling around town to the 3 bars. It was a nice work out. The whole duration of the pub crawl was around 2 hours. Our guide was hilarious and definitely got us hyped to drink. We sang along to songs while cycling. Bystanders waved at us. Locals probably hated us for being so loud. I also made a friend for life from the tour. After the completion of the 3 bars, I got super tipsy and lost my Oakley sunglasses. Success.

These tours are always filled with rowdy, screaming drunk people, and follow the same routes without taking into account that people actually live in the buildings they pass several times a day. This may be fun for tourists, but the concept is really annoying for the community.

A very touristy but fun thing to do in Downtown Portland! I stopped in for a beer, but didn’t do the actual tour. There were lots of groups lining up, even a bachelorette party. The prices for the tour seemed pretty reasonable though, and looks like you make three quick stops. It’s a short tour. We sat inside at a couple picnic tables to the right of the bar. They had some board games to entertain guests. Beer was nice and cold and service was friendly.

We booked this tour on a whim after a long flight from the east coast. We wanted a way to see the Old Town area near our hotel, and we like beer, so win-win! Our driver was Liam, who I would 100% recommend asking for, and the idea was to peddle this giant tandem bike to 3 different breweries in 2.5 hours. Not an easy challenge, but we did it! I do wish we had more time as the breweries the though. It was hard to drink a full glass of beer in 30 minutes. Maybe they could offer the tour ½ pints due to the time constraint. We did expect a bit more of a «tour feel» to the tour. Meaning, a little history on each of the breweries or on the area would have been amazing. Portland is rich in weird stories and I wanted to hear them! I also like the fact that the bike could accommodate non-peddlers. This way if someone in your party is currently hurt or not physically able to peddle they can still enjoy the rowdy ride and all the breweries. I would recommend doing this tour wherever available.

I’m too old to ride the BrewCycle so I bought a lap for my grandson. He said there was only 1 other person on the tour that day so he and one other person ended trying to ride thing around town. He said he was a very good workout. OK I TALKEDTOMYGRANDSONAGAIN. he said they actually had a full brewcycle. he was joking about the only 2 people, but he did mention that there is a minimum to go on the ride. Said it was a blast and if you’re unsure if you want to get on the brewcycle, just do it once. He also mentioned a brewBOAT. That might be a different company though. I’ve done the DC duck tours where you’re on a big RV then the RV goes on the water and you put the quackers in your mouth and quack at everything. I don’t think it’s the same concept here though, I believe they are to completely different mobiles. ‘ I would post a picture but it looks like there are three below me that look fine. Fair price. Some people may get motion sick because you pedal straighbut move sideways. siri call Steven Ezekiel 23:19−20 ~Granma McCray

Very fun to do with a large group of friends. I would recommend this tour to anyone and will be doing it again in the future. Our tour guide was very fun and personable, he made the trip a good time for all. You spend 20 – 25 min in each brewery which is enough time for a beer, but not enough time to get food or anything. The only thing I wish is that we would have a bit more time in each of the brewery’s, but that minor detail will not detour me from embarking on this tour again, Just know to plan a bit better. Overall, great and fun time!

One day I will come back to Portland and this is where I will find myself again. Participating in the brewery tour made the entire trip so damn great.

Portland + Brews + Bike. You cannot go wrong. Andrea, the owner and front person, was so personable and fun. It was so nice to meet her! Our tour guide, James, was fun and patient. The breweries they chose were each so different and unique and it made the experience so much fun. The bike hold 15 people so we met a bunch of strangers that became our beer mates by the end of the night. It such an affordable, once-in-a-life-time experience(living in Vancouver), and I highly recommend it to anyone who visits Portland. Thanks so much for a fun evening.

We went on brew cycle for my brothers 21st birthday with just the family and it was a great time. We ended up with another couple and a group of girls that were from out of town which would be a great idea if you weren’t from portland. Made our way around to 3 – 4 brew pubs all of which ive been to but still was fun checking them all out and then making your way back on to the bike. Our group had a great time singing ke$ha and nsync in the middle of the street – they let you play whatever you want. We left at 11 or 12(i forget!) and ended up getting back around dusk. They say that having your name tag may give you discounts or happy hour type deals but i didnt really see any of that(that i noticed) but regardless it was definitely an enjoyable to spend my brothers birthday.

I had a lot of fun on this tour! Definitely a cool touristy thing I did with some friends while visiting Portland from the Bay Area. Basically, you pedal around in this 13 seater bike to downtown breweries with other beer enthusiasts!!! Sure? Take my $ 30! In reality, it’s more of a bike rental than a tour. It would have been awesome if our guide actually spoke about the city, spoke about the locations we were going to, spoke about the local beer scene, spoke about anything. We’d bike to one of our stops and our guide wouldn’t even go inside until it was time to tell us to bike to the next stop. We did the Old town tour. One stop was legit, the other two were OK. We basically biked a rectangle and pretty walkable if you wanted to. 1. Pints — More like a small bar 2. Old Town Brewery — More of a pizza shop that just has beers on tap. 3. Fat Heads Brewery — Best stop of the day. Huge brewery, great taps, plenty of selection of local beers. The downtown brewery scene is insane. You have two breweries literally next door to where you start your«tour» at. The highlight of the day, we had this fellow from Australia(super hipster with a handlebar mustache) and when it was his turn to play DJ getting handed the aux cord, he played some random Aussie ballad songs. He was jamming but our whole group just kinda looked at each other all wtf and laughed. Fun peeps, fun ride even though it was rainy, had some beer at some cool places, I just see some room for improvement.

So it was raining, didn’t stop the energy of 13 people pedaling thru portland oregon. Me and 3 of my friends had the pleasure of trying out the brewcycle. We stopped at three breweries on this adventure, ten other people joined us for this adventure. Pedaling full speed by yourself does not make you go any faster keep the pace with everyone else if you do your pedals will go loose so catch up. The group consisted of a fellow from Austrialia, and the rest of the group from LA. We sample and pulled off to 3 separate breweries, 1st brewery did have a dark beer similar to guiness, the second brewery was a combo bar/pizza shop, the last bar was brewery/restaurant. In between each bar was about 15min of biking each, nothing really uphill until we headed back to the base. The establishment actually offers you a brew of their home blends and 3 – 4 local blends from other spots. The experience was worth the $ 30 per person. They did offer an aux cable to plug in your phone each time we would bike. So total 4 djs between the 3 stops. The guide was surprisingly from the bay and didn’t mind that we played some too short on our way to the 3rd bar! He seemed nice he did know the words to the whole song haha! Definitely something to try when you are in the area, down a brew then work it off to the next spot works out perfectly haha Breweries *** Price $$ you have to pay to sample at each brewery Service **** very friendly staff, would be nice if they threw in some key notes of areas we are biking thru or places to visit Ambiance **** whats not to like your outside, excercising, then downing beers

If you’re traveling with a huge group of friends and looking for something fun to do in Portland. THISISDEFINITE A MUST! Our group of 9 had a blast, and it was the highlight of our trip! Met up at 12:30 with group for our tour. They have beer here too, so you can start off by chugging a beer. Aaron was our driver, he explained the rules and then we’re off. Huge TIP: You need to chose a good playlist, I’m talking something everyone can sing too, and also put in WORK to. Ya feel? Our choice? 90’s THROWBACKS. Nothing like good old BSB, Spice Girls, Savage Garden, Nsync etc to sing your heart out to, while bike to push 9 other people. Warning, some seats don’t have pedals, so make sure the lazy friends get the front few seats. Haha. All in good fun though! Oh! Another tip, get 2nd or 3rd seats if you’re short since they’re adjustable! The tour itself lasted about 2 hours. 3 stops, and 25 mins at each brewery. Remember, the faster you get to the place, the more time you’ll have at each stop. So wear some comfortable shoes/clothes! This is a workout. Most people don’t realize they’ll probably be pedaling harder than expected and you’re most likely going to be a lot more drunk that you plan to be as well. I know that was the case for our group. Lol. Butt is still extremely sore from the biking. We stopped by: PINTS: I really didn’t want to drink at this point so shared a blondie with my friend. It was alright. Old Town Pizza, shout out to our SJ homie, Britney! Very cool chick! This is when we really got amped up. Had a couple shots. Tried their pizza and garlic knots, which were yumzz by the way! Needed some carbs to power us up for the ride. Haha. Fat Heads: Good bar, nice ambiance! It was a little sad that they ran out of Jameson, and the shots were pretty disappointing. We ended up having so much fun, we just stayed at BrewCycle contemplating if should go on another ride! Overall, it was an extremely memorable experience, and I highly recommend it to everyone!

We had so much fun with the group on Halloween,(I was the beer bottle) despite the peddling, rain, and puddles! Music was rockin and made you want to peddle! Ayran, our driver and coordinator was AWSOME as well as all the other staff at BrewCycle! Loved Johns Mummy Zombie combo! Thanks so much for a very FUN experience(I really didn’t want to go but my friend Sienna insisted!) . Highly recommend this outing! Rain or Shine tons of fun!!!

This is probably the most fun that I had in Portland! A group of friends and I were visiting from the Bay Area and wanted to do something touristy. We arrived at the starting point a bit early and signed in, but had to wait a little bit for our bike to get back, but we were able to get a head start with drinking since the starting point was actually a brewery! My group filled up most of the bike, save 4 seats, so there were people we didn’t know. Not every seat has pedals, so you can switch out between spots and rest up. The road may look flat, but you’ll find yourself exerting a bit of energy pedaling to each location, but the drunker we got, the less we minded. There’s a speaker that you can hook up your music and have a dance party. We took the Northwest route, which included Lucky Lab McMenamins, and Bridgeport. You get 25 minutes at each location, give 5 minutes. But it flies by super quick: by the time you get to the bathroom, get in line to order, get your beer, you have 15 minutes to drink up. There was definitely a lot of chugging involved. Each location had beer, but the second two had full bars as well, so you had options if you were getting too full. You cannot drink ON the bike, as some people may assume, but you will be drink while you’re ON it. Our guide definitely made it fun and he probably gave us a little more than the allotted time. It was overall a very enjoyable time and I’d definitely go back and try the other routes!

What a hootenanny evening pedaling up, down and around the Pearl and Alphabet Districts on the big bad bodacious Brew Cycle on Halloween night. Boo! It was a little creepy and spooky, so misty and drizzly Halloween night. Boo! We were cranking our butts off or not(some seats require no pedaling). I was wearing orange and black, my varsity, high school sweater and my wife was my girlfriend wearing my varsity jacket— dare I say from 1970. All in costume, there was Batman & Robin, Superman, 3-eyed golden girl, 3 vampires dressed alike(all friends who grew up together in India), 2 hilarious Minions and other ghoulish fun peeps! So we did the«Monster Mash» and pedaled off to party at 3 breweries for more fun, games and beer and beer. We went with friends we knew and connected along the way with all – cuz all had one thing in mind this macabre night – to«Party On!» Lucky Lab was beer, pizza and getting to know you better time. McMenamins on 23rd was beer, shuffleboard and spirited chit-chat. After more beer and singing«Go Gail, Go Gail» and more crazy talk and laughs, time to board the Brew Cycle one last time. Now picture us all leaving Bridgeport Brewery while pedaling in the Pearl Alley and waving our arms back and forth and singing loudy! Na Na Na Na, Na Na Na Na, hey hey, goodbye! We did draw attention. Peeps on the streets waved and yelled. Cars beeped beep beep! Tons of fun! Don’t let the rain stop you! Brew cycle is a hootenanny on wheels! Singin! Dancin on the pedals! Partyin! Gimme more! And we did the mash! The monster mash, it was a graveyard… brew cycle… and brew… smash! Let the good times roll on Brew Cycle!

Bf and I were looking for touristy things to do in Portland, specifically related to beer. We came across brewcycle and decided to give it a try! We signed up for an 11am tour on a Tuesday. Upon arrival we were greeted by friendly faces and a small taproom where we could have a beer before departing. We chose to save ourselves for the tour. Our tour guide(I forget his name… Dark longish hair. sorry!) gave us the rundown and we were on the way. It was funny because I really think most of us thought the harder we pedaled the faster we’d go, but the pedaling is really just for the hills. If you’re downhill or flat it requires very little work, and actually maxes out around 3mph lol Our first stop«Pints» I believe had me a little confused. We walked in and the bartender asked what we wanted. I guess I thought that BrewCycle would have coordinated with the brewery. The bartender did eventually ask if we were with a group, which I believe gave us $ 1 off our beers. We weren’t allowed to order flights during the tour. We also stopped at two more breweries which were similar experiences. To be honest the breweries didn’t have the greatest service, so that left something to be desired. While on the bike we did have a lot of fun, I kind of wish we went further. This would be a lot of fun with a bachelor or bachelorette party, and the folks at brewcycle were a pleasure to spend a couple hours with. Some more organization/collaboration with the brewery stops would add to the experience for me.

This is an amazing experience you can’t miss out on when in Portland. Michael, our tour guide was so energetic, funny and just brought our experience to another level. You go to 3 bars while on the brewcycle, each lasting 25 minutes at each bar. The crowd we were with was a bachelor party and we couldn’t have asked for a better crowd to share this experience. Play your favorite tunes while cycling through the city. The pedaling itself isn’t hard if everyone does it together. We absolutely enjoyed this once in a lifetime experience!

Drink. Bike. Laugh. Seriously, what is better? We booked this a month in advance. I don’t think you need to do that to get a good time slot. It was only $ 20/person. We had 6 and we even had one person that had a torn ACL. They were SUPER accommodating. There’s a bench in the back and she didn’t have to pedal. All she pretty much did was Snapchat all of us! You can buy beer on draft back at their shop for $ 4 a pint, which is ridiculously cheap. Then you hop on and pedal to 3 different bars that brew their own beer and you spend about 30 minutes at each place. We played darts, pool, and just hung out. The tour guide was great, and I WILL recommend this to all of my friends that go to Portland. This is a MUST!

SO. MUCH. FUN. I love doing touristy things and this was one of the better tours I’ve been on. The crew is awesome, they make sure everyone is having a great time! We made a reservation for the 4:30 Old Town Route. Luckily for us, they grouped the 1:30 group with ours so we had enough people to go out during our time slot. Our entire group was also divided as half of us signed up for the Old Town Route and the other half signed up for the Northwest Route. The staff did a great job at making sure we hit the bars that everyone wanted to go to even though that meant that half of us went to Fatheads while the other half went to Deschutes. The two of us arrived just a few minutes early and the staff gave us a warm greeting. We signed our waivers and got all checked in and were offered $ 4 pints while we were waiting. Although we got there with little time to spare, we didn’t feel rushed to finish our beers or anything. We had a 12 person group so everyone had a pedaling seat. I’m 5’3″ and I could reach the pedals just fine. Our Brewcycle had 4 adjustable seats so if you’re a little bit shorter, make sure you get to sit in one! Our tour guide, Michael, was just on his third training shift but was super awesome! I think with the way this tour is set up and the nature of the Brewcycle itself, there is no way you can’t enjoy yourself. My boyfriend and I went out with 10 strangers on a super rainy and cold Monday and we still had a blast! Someone plugs in their phone for music and color changing lights create a fun vibe while everyone is pedaling away their cardio for the day. Do not underestimate the work it takes to make this thing move because even with all of us pedaling, my legs were burning by the end of it! All of the places we went to gave us $ 1 off of our drinks for being with Brewcycle so that was awesome! We were always the last one to order at the bars but also still had about 15 minutes to drink it so we never felt super rushed. By the end of the tour all of us were comfortable with each other and we even made new friends. Just passing by people on the street and in the cars and seeing their reactions makes the experience worthwhile. You just really can’t NOT smile on this thing!
