Never really been here for adult beverages, but their food is crazy good. Exceptional happy hour. Killer gyros. Great, interesting specials. Cheap, good grub. Well above the caliber of typical pub fare.

Long time fan of this lounge. I had to back off a 5 star rating since they got rid of their late-night happy hour and the menu items are now a-la-cart. Michael is a FANTASTIC bartender and makes excellent drinks. It is always a better experience when he is behind the bar. Lamb or filafel gyro cannot be beat for the price. Sweet potato fries are also quite delicious.

Best bar to grab a drink and catch up with friends over a Montucky Cold Snack! The food was good booze priced well and extremely friendly staff! I love going here because they don’t play super loins music. You can actually carry on a conversation while you sit at a booth, play pool, or hunt wild caribou on the big buck hunter

First time here, and my first impression was great! There is a very cool outdoor seating area, dark comfy bar, video games, and pool… seems like a really neat place to hang. Was also very impressed with the happy hour menu… cheap food everyday 2 – 7. So far, experience has been very positive. I’d come back, especially for happy hour.

Love love their happy hour! Such great deals that last from 2pm-8pm! I love how their menu is super diverse so there is always something for everyone. I’ve always had nice service there too. Definitely one of my «go-to» Portland happy hour spots! Thanks for making happy hour even happier!

So. We live about 3 blocks away, so we go pretty often. Normally, the food is really good and the bloodies are bloody amazing. Tonight, we waited 30 minutes for to go orders with watery bloody mary’s, not tomato-y or vodka-y, but watery. No pickle, which is kinda what makes them special, and, after our 3 block walk home, many gyro is sad, the chicken is cold and so are my fries. Hubby’s burger is good. Guess which one«waited» for the other? Very disappointed!

They updated their menu! It’s good, but no more burritos. R.I.P., Hellfire, you will be missed.

Thank you Unilocal! This place was a great find. There is a good amount of outdoor seating. They also have a wonderful selection of vegetarian options! We had the hummus on happy hour which was tasty. The cocktails weren’t very strong but the service was good. I will definitely visit again.

Gone are the days of a good deal. It use to be that bars subsidize the food with all the profits from the booze. Now, they cut the food menu from some good burgers and fries and good vegan options to higher prices on burgers only and the kicker, a buck more for fries. And NO good vegan options ATALL! Hipsters can have this bar back now!

Go here when you feel like being ignored on a sleepy Sunday night by an asshole bartender. Decided after ten minutes of watching the bartender act too busy to notice us that the food and drinks weren’t worth waiting for.

Man. So. Here’s the breakdown of my review. Food: 1.5 Stars Drinks: 5 Stars Service: 4 Stars So, lets begin. My wife said the burritos here are massive. So we decided to get burritos here tonight. Drinks? Awesome. She got the Hot ‘n’ Dirty(we think), which was a fine cocktail. I got the Dances with Wolves, which was a 1oz shot of Buffalo Trace and a Montucky Cold Snack for $ 5. Awesome! Server was nice, too, got me a glass with some ice lickity split so I could make my whiskey last longer. But… man? The burritos? She got the Green Hornet and I got the jerk pork burrito. And both of us agree… we don’t think we’ve had burritos more bland in our entire lives. The server was super nice and got us extra salsa and hot sauce. But even that couldn’t spark any life into our dull and lifeless burritos. Even the jalapenos in the Green Hornet appeared to be de-seeded and lacking spice. The Jerk Pork burrito’s only redeeming quality was the jerk pork itself. It was the only part of the burrito that had any flavor. I kind of wish I just had a side of that and called it good, because it would have been better. And maybe cheaper. Again, good drinks, service good. But stay clear of these burritos. Maybe their other food offerings are good. But if you want burritos whiter than Robo Taco, which I didn’t think was possible, then maybe this is for you. But I’d steer clear. We both, agreed, however, that whoever chooses the music at this place is awesome. Great music!

I can’t believe it’s taken me so long to find the Bonfire Lounge. I enjoyed a few hours sitting outside in a comfy wooden booth on a pleasant summer evening with good friends. The drinks and food are solidly good and priced well. We took full advantage of the happy hour menu pretty much ordering one of everything and grazing our way though until we were completely satiated.

My second visit was definitely better than the first one! Service was definitely better and the staff were nicer. No feeling unwelcomed, no weird vibes, and no slamming plates on the table. Food was tasty! I got the falafel, which had really great tzatziki and feta. BF liked the veggie burger. Fries were great. I’m definitely adding this on my regular happy hour places. Their happy hour food and drink deals are great($ 4 food and $ 1 off well and draft.) I’m glad I decided to go here again, because I’ve been missing out!

One of the best happy hour places in the city. Amazing burger, falafel, gyro, and drink specials every night of the week. Friendly bartenders and food I am happy to eat ever time I am there. I am always happy with what is on the Juke box. Great people running a gem of a place.

Winning points: They had a wicked Happy Hour 2−7pm! On A Sunday afternoon! Do you know how hard it is to find a good HH at that time? The food and drinks were great! It was my last stop before heading to the airport, my friend and I both had a gyros which was delicious and hit the spot. The cider rocked too. Everything fit so perfectly I wish I could stay longer. So glad I found this place!

Every customer that walks into an establishment obviously faces a different experience from one another. Some employees have bad days, personal issues may arise that effect work, and sometimes just sometimes you just get a rotten apple that ruins it all. I had came in here not long ago and wrote a pretty scathing review about my experience here. I always believe in giving establishments another chance but on my own accord. This particular evening I came here with my wife and a couple of her friends. I was a little reluctant at first because of my last experience here but I find myself this particular evening with a rather big change of heart. The server we had this evening was extremely attentive… almost too attentive. He made sure our drinks were constantly full and regularly checked on us. Never once was I ever treated in a condescending manner. My wife’s friends can be a little demanding at times and never once did the server ever treat them unfairly and made sure everything was promptly taken care of. I made no mention of my previous experience with this particular server but I will say that he absolutely changed my impression of my last experience here. I forgot his name but I needed to take a moment and update this establishment with another review to show that every place deserves a chance sometimes. This has also given me new hope that I may give some of these other establishments that I have written poor reviews another chance as well. Thank you Bonfire Lounge for opening my eyes up.

Here’s how my Friday was going: I basically left work wanting to kill a certain coworker and hating life. It was a misty, gray afternoon, almost as dark as my soul. I had plans to meet up with a very good friend for after work revelry at a certain juice bar and raw foods café. Don’t get me wrong, I love that place and under normal circumstances would have been jones-ing for a veggie juice and a rice bowl. But after the day I’d had, I needed some BOOZE. My very kind friend said, «there’s a bar across the street.» Did I mention I’m not the most observant person? Bonfire Lounge was just the remedy I needed. The interior was dark and home-y, and very Portland-esque. At 4-ish on a Friday, it wasn’t even crowded. The drinks were standard, but gave me the buzz I so desperately needed. Food was great too. I’ve been eating veggie lately due to some health concerns. They have a veggie burger, it’s a Morningstar Farms patty, but it was really tasty. They seemed to have spiced it up some and it came with lots of lettuce, tomatoes, etc. The sweet potato fries are seriously the best I’ve ever had. They somehow managed to make them taste not so sweet. Kudos! I slurped it down with all the grace of a pig in heat. Speaking of, the bartender was hot and very attentive. I’m taking one star off because he kept pointedly calling me sir. Yes, I am out of my twenties and thirties, but you don’t have to make me feel like grandpa crashing the cool kids’ party. Despite that, it was fun and I’m eager to go back.

I guess the first thing that comes to mind when you walk into Bonfire is DARK. It’s quite dark in there but it was a decent atmosphere with a DJ spinning a random mix of funk, dance and old style r&b. I was in there fairly early so there wasn’t any sort of crowd. A few couples in another room and a scattering of folks in the room with the DJ. I sat down at the bar and there was a couple at the far end and two people near where I sat down. They have a rotating list of beers of which I had a decent dark beer(local, of course) and various food specials were listed. A special cheesesteak and some interesting ice cream flavors(chocolate stout ice cream…) The bartender was very friendly and made me feel welcome. I ordered the Bonfire burger with cheddar, grilled onions and a chipotle relish, with fries. I was also given a homemade habanero sauce that I doused my fries in. For me, it wasn’t hot but I did enjoy the flavor. As for the burger? It was pretty good, but it needed something else. I added mustard to it and it helped, but the onions and relish kind of blended together and I couldn’t really distinguish one from the other. The meat was cooked exactly the way it needed to be. They have a good menu, very eclectic and I will make my way back, heck it’s only a few blocks away from me. I want to try some chocolate stout ice cream. Enjoy.
