So much fun! Who would have thought throwing on some dancing shoes on a Tuesday night would end up with a legendary hangover come Wednesday morning. I’m a big fan of dark spaces. and the Good Foot(downstairs at least) is dark and dim and very much like you’re going to a basement house show, it feels sneaky and sexy all at once! Can’t remember who was playing last night, but holy moly. totally incredible. Nothing like being 2 steps away from a big brass band with some of your favorite people. Drinks were pretty reasonable, and my whiskey + Coke was more whiskey than Coke. Water is also self serve and on tap, which is helpful to note when up is been groovin all night.

Performed at their open mic last night. Great atmosphere from candles on the tables, sound engineer, great lights plus awesome draft selection.

one of the best Dance clubs on Friday nights. Hungry? Good bar type food upstairs. Dance cyphers on Friday nights are dope! I like when they loop the break of the songs with the tight music selections.

ATMOSPHERE: causal/maybe a little dive bar, rotating art, pool tables, pinball, and there’s a music/dance venue downstairs. SERVICE: friendly bartenders pouring stiff drinks! kitchen can take a bit when they’re slammed, but don’t worry, you’re food is coming. FOOD: better than you’d think! I’ve found that in Portland, even«bar food» is great, and this place is no exception. I really like the hush puppies with mushroom gravy.

My girlfriend and I are from California and we’re looking for a bar to have a good time at in the area on a Sunday night so we checked out Goodfoot as recommended by a couple locals. The bar was super cool and we ended up having an awesome time! The bar had 5(if I remember correctly) pool tables and a few pinball machines for entertainment. The drinks were unique and tasty and the disco fries were solid. The best part of the bar was the bartender Ryan who was very friendly to talk to and even made us customizable drinks that tasted fantastic… we were fans of the cucumber infused vodka and the Moscow mullets, both were made to perfection. We were informed that the lounge also had a dance floor downstairs that we didn’t get a chance to check out, however I’d love to visit again and see it in a future visit. We’ll definitely be back to the Goodfoot lounge. Thanks for the great time!

This place is fantastic, and i feel like there is something here to please just about anybody. The upstairs has several pool tables and a decent selection of pinball games in order to provide entertainment while you enjoy your tasty adult beverage. If you are not an active drinker then there are quite a few cozy booths and tables to hull up with a group of friends. On certain nights the downstairs hosts some great music and dancing. Typically the cover charge is super reasonable. The Goodfoot is home to «Soul Stew», which they claim is Portland’s longest running DJ dance night. The music is typically of the soul, funk, R&B in nature and made even better by the fact that the DJs are spinning actual records, not using computers. They have plenty of beers on tap, several hard ciders, and a full bar. Food is available upstairs and can be brought to the downstairs section if you wish. I advise getting there early to snag a table for when you need a rest from dancing. As the great James Brown would say: «They’re dancing on the good foot I got to get on the good foot Got to do it on the good foot Do it with the good foot»

Stumbled upon this gem with some awesome bluegrass music I’ve been wanting to see!!! Small place downstairs which makes for quite the intimate setting! Good beer on tap! Upstairs is awesome because there’s amazing art all over, pool tables and munchies! I’ll be back for more goooodness

Mushroom gravy. Get it on. It is so seductive, you will want to go home alone. Seriously. Try it. Hushpuppies are spicy. I prefer the traditional east coast mild. But I’m not a food critic and no one really cares about my moderate spice intolerance. Free pool? Yep — that means great date place. Downstairs club area is cozy, intimate, dark, great dance spot. I hear the owner is a nice guy, too, which is a bonus.

I have not dined here. Nor have I played pool. However, I have gotten down and dirty to some Friday night funk and soul. Imagine a sweaty house party on steroids with a fun DJ and too many people. That’s Goodfoot on a Friday night.

Has a cool vibe! Lots of pool tables. Delicious drinks! Only downside, it is popular so it can be a bit too loud and crowded for my liking.

Kinda divey and low-budget, felt like a party in a friend of a friend’s unfinished basement. Awesome vibes on the dance floor, everyone was groovin’.(Find a spot by the fans bc it gets HOT.) Nifty laser lights. Fun crowd. Cheap beers, from what I remember.

Woo! This place is so fun! But first let me tell you, there are TWO levels! The main door takes you upstairs to the pool hall and greater bar area. It’s nicely lit, with cool stuff on the walls, and plenty of standing/table/bar space. And bathroom. And a guy checking IDs. We made the mistake of going up there and were like uhhh what happened to the stage? Where is the band supposed to play?! So we asked. They play downstairs! silly mus. If you face the building and go to the right side, there is a door that looks kinda sketch that will lead you downstairs into this dark tunnel and into a short ceilinged dark dark room. Which is super cool! This is where the band plays. There is a small bar but there are tables and places to sit. And a «dance» floor that’s right up against the flat stage. We saw High and Mighty Brass Band and they were SOGOOD! The acoustics were great. so loud and fun! If you want to keep your hearing, maybe bring ear plugs, lol We absolutely cannot wait to go back! The drink prices are fair. Not cheap and not expensive. They have a few specialty cocktails and some microbrews(typical.) So I think this is a great place for anyone, upstairs or down!

The Goodfoot is something between a bar and a club in Southeast Portland. It excels in both roles. Beer is the thing to get here. Kudos to the Goodfoot for their well-planned list of beers. On tap, they have a fine selection of microbrews, plus Session as their standard lager! Seriously, I wish more area bars did this – Session is simple, but unequivocally good and locally made. The bartenders here sell all their beers by the pitcher as well as by the pint, making it an ideal place for groups, particularly when it gets busy. $ 12 for Session pitchers, $ 17 for the other microbrews. I’ve got to hand it to the bartenders here – even though it’s a loud place and frequently crowded, they’re always quick on the draw, serving up pints, pitchers, tallboys, and cocktails with a cheerful efficiency. The Goodfoot was meant for hanging out at the peak of the night. The cavernous upstairs of this bar is a raucous place, with pool tables, pinball machines, and huge booths for you and all your friends. The sound system plays a good mix of rock and hip-hop, depending on the night. Most recently, they were leaning heavily on the Velvet Underground, which worked really well with the acoustics of the place. While it’s definitely loud upstairs, it’s not oppressively so, so conversation is still more than possible here. The feel is very cool, in a rock star kind of way. Not hip, just cool. There’s nothing ironic about it, and that’s a good thing. Saunter up to a pool table with your friends and you’ll see what I mean. If you venture downstairs to the basement, you’ll find someplace completely different. It’s a nightclub with low ceilings, close quarters, and a wild, sweaty vibe. While they have music down there every night, the best time to come is on Friday nights for their funk and soul night. Normally, there’s a DJ, who spins a fine mix of original tunes and remixes, old and new. James Brown, Sam Cooke, Erykah Badu, P-Funk, and J.D. McPherson, among others. Every now and then, though, there’s a live act. Both of these shows draw huge crowds for good reason. Normally, I’m not one for dancing in a club, but I just love how much the crowd gets into the music here. And it’s good music that’s actually danceable, too! The GoodFoot is fun in so many ways. From its good beer to its rock ‘n roll temperament, from its phenomenal Friday music to its variety of hangout spaces, it’s a real party. My compliments to the hosts!

This place was jumpin last night. Excellent atmosphere upstairs and downstairs. The crowd was very hilled and not too bro-esque. The service was immaculate and they use the concept of a line at the bar to make way too easy to get a drink at a packed venue. Well done good foot, you got us hooked!

I come here when i want to DANCE. The downstairs basement has live music or a DJ every night of the week. EVERY night. funk nights, soul nights, open mic. a variety of vibes. If your up for a more mellow atmosphere, upstairs they have 6 pool tables and a full bar. perfect for group hangs. not to mention the art– its everywhere and changes monthly. usually covering most of the wall space. which is impressive, considering the size of the place. cool indoor/outdoor patio for smoking, also to the brim with artwork. and the dirty tots– I like to call«totchoes’ i.e. tater-tot nachos. enough said. i would come here for the tot-choes alone but the crowd is always fun and the music b u m p i n

This place is awesome. We go for MoM(Motown on Monday) on Sunday, and it is a blast. They have great DJ’s, and play a really great mix of all the most awesome Motown hits. They also have a great tap list that seems to rotate pretty regularly, so it’s a great opportunity to try new/interesting beers. The very first time I ever went there was a a MoMoS where I actually showed up still in my uniform(I am a bartender for a high end wedding venue, bow tie/black vest, the works, sometimes there just isn’t time to change,) and when I walked in I got a high five from the door man, and a second from the awesome bartender(she had lovely curly hair loss of amazing tattoos.) I love that this is a place, no matter who you are, you can walk in, feel totally welcome. We danced to awesome music, had amazing beer, and the atmosphere is awesome to boot. I will say I have never ordered food here, but my friend has and she said it is good food, and the service is pretty quick. I will also say, that every time I do go, I always almost order the PB&J, because I love it when menus have PB&J’s… But I’m too busy dancing to sit down to eat… I will have to get it next time! Goodfoot = good times.

Great live music, great fried cauliflower, great Bloody Mary. The upstairs bar is nice and quiet, good for reading/working. They also have free pool till 9 pm, and some interesting paintings to stare at while you’re getting drunk. My only complaint is the dance floor downstairs was literally just full of women. I don’t want to go to a place where there are no guys on the dance floor.

Do you like dive bars? Dancing in basements that are dark, and kind of smell? Then you will love Goodfoot. I personally dislike the aforementioned, but can appreciate that lots of Portlanders would. GF is split with an up-and-down stairs setup. Upstairs is bright, contains the bar, pool tables, spots to eat/chill. No complaints. Downstairs is loud, packed full of people, dark, chaotic, and bumpin’ lots of house(possibly just for the night I was there; not sure what they play every night). I’d only go back with a group of friends.

We were in the area looking for a lounge and Goodfoot came up. Quirky dive spot with live music. Lots of unabashed dancing and people just enjoying themselves. Seems like a very casual venue, plenty of t-shirts and cargo shorts, some glowstick accessories. People passing around balloons through the air. Pretty much the chill vibe one imagines about Portland. Turns out we completely missed that there’s an upstairs…

I am all about the Goodfoot! I had no idea this place was a great music venue for local bands. The sound quality is awesome! I ventured out here a few weeks back to see the Polyrhythmics(afro-funk, based from Seattle, check ‘em out!) and it was fantastic — and that is an understatement folks! The upstairs and downstairs are as different as night and day. If you want a cup of joe it is located upstairs only, had to learn the hard way on that one. I would hate to see the downstairs during the light of day(only because the seats/booths look tattered and frayed) but luckily they’re only open during the evening hours. The restrooms are super clean, water is easily accessible, and beautiful art is plastered all over the walls. Needless to say, the Goodfoot Lounge is a great place to get your dance on and see some live music.
