We have only been to Belmont Inn for trivia nights, but it’s definitely a place we’d go even if they didn’t host trivia. Don’t come here thinking you’re going to be in an upscale, swanky bar. For what it is, I love it. The food could certainly be improved, but I just make sure to eat somewhere else beforehand on Belmont. They have an impressive selection of beers and the bartenders are generally pretty friendly. This is a solid neighborhood bar that’s totally worth a try if you’re in «bar mood» and just want to sit down with a beer.

Perfect joint to kick back and enjoy a drink. Chill with a drama-free atmosphere. The staff are all very welcoming and of the highest of caliber in their ways of serving that alcohol.

I like free pool and I like sports. Not sure what’s with all the whining about this dive bar not meeting your dive bar standards. Folks, I think y’all need to rethink your definition of a dive bar if you’re looking for charm.

One of the original bars of Portland, and continues to stay the same! I’m glad they kept their décor and have not conformed to the hipsters that have overrun this part of Portland! Inexpensive drink menu and good food!

Had a nice time drinking a couple of beers after work. I met some regular customers, one of which brought in snacks to share with the bar. He just purchased some miscellaneous Pepperidge Farm goldfish and set them out onto saucers. I guess… one of those small-towne behaviors. The Belmont Inn is a favorite dive among locals. TVs, Pinball, friendly servers. Lottery. I had two beers: A Hard Knocks xtra Pale —- very new brewery from Cottage Grove, OR. Good beer, very dry pale. They have 20 taps, mostly local Beers and Ciders and two Nitro Offerings. The Migration Red on Nitro looks interesting. Mostly filled with working class folks — comfortable and cozy. I didn’t have food. I was so filled up from the Goldfish and Pirouette’s. I’ve seen few things offered. The Hot Wings look like a winner. I was tempted by the sauce — I had a little sample, tangy and hot. Many years ago it was called Belmont’s Inn — perhaps to reflect the INN of the Neighborhood, now, the prominent Yellow Sign is Belmont Inn.

I came here to see a Bills game. I expected it to be a dive bar with a wide variety of people cheering and hanging out together to watch their respective teams. What I actually found was that this is just a dumpy bar with unfriendly customers and staff. «Dive bars» at least have a bit of charm to them — this place has absolutely none. This is the most unfriendly environment I’ve come across in all of Portland. The table I sat at was filthy and once I started looking around me more, I felt so grimy that I closed my tab after one drink and left the bar to find a new place to watch the remainder of the game.

Food was ok. I ordered a burger with pickles and an egg and got neither. I didn’t complain though since it was a slightly complicated order(I ordered the Californian with no bacon and added pickles and an egg; I guess they forgot, at least it didn’t have mayo.) The place was dead — just past their happy hour; it was 6:20. At least the bartender was friendly. Good thing is that they have food until midnight. I think I’m going to make a list for that sort of thing here!

It’s the World Cup finals and only 2 people were scheduled. Despite how busy it is they are working their asses off & providing great service.

People say this is a dive bar, but I wouldn’t even call it that. In my mind, dive bars have a certain charm to their slightly dumpy atmosphere. This place is very neutral with little personality. They have a limited and expected pub food menu and a bunch of beers on tap. Food is cheap and plentiful but not terribly tasty, and it comes out of the kitchen one plate at a time, sometimes with a ten minute wait and sometimes with a 45 minute wait. Wednesday night trivia is its redeeming quality.

When I first moved to Portland in 20052006 I used to frequent this establishment quite regularly Nothing super special typical bar food but hey chicken fingers with Frank’s red hot sauce and fresh cut french fries sometimes is just the perfect meal I have a lot of TVs video poker jukebox pool tables and a local hangout seen her probably even score some marijuana if you need to after midnight

I don’t know why I love this place so much but I do. It’s a shitty dive bar but the bartenders rock and the pool is always fun. Pretty cheap prices and yummy greasy food are always appreciated. It’s a fun atmosphere for blazer games and football season.

Visiting from out of town, I had to check out the bar scene here. I’m visiting my in-laws and one of them mentioned this place. They have a decent amount of taps and Jake the Bartender knows what he’s talking about. The beer was good the food was good, I had a great time.

The Belmont Inn is a dive but a loveable dive. One of the waitresses/bartenders there(Liz) is incredible. She goes above and beyond and is just friggin’ hilarious. The food is typical bar fare and tastes just like you’d expect. Happy hour is cheap and the burgers are big. I’ve been here on numerous occasions for Trivia and have always had a great time.

This pool hall style bar captures the essence of the neighborhood perfectly. It’s a bit separated from the hipster/yuppie part and a little grittier and more industrial, as reflected by the diverse, salt-of-the-Earth types that frequent there. The place definitely has character. Most of the food is greasy and the pours can be a little weak/overpriced at peak hours, but the staff is very friendly and accommodating. Definitely worth a visit.

The food is good(especially the burgers, sorry vegetarians), the portions are great and the drinks are tastefully strong. Now that we have the important stuff out of the way, the juke box. Get 5 bucks and put on the most preposterous line up your maniacal mind can cook up. Then sit back and watch, cause you may not always be able to see the tv. What’s dinner without a show lol.

C’mon people, don’t diss the Belmont Inn. Thursday night Triva is where it’s at. I came here last night for some Community trivia and had a blast!!! The beer was a flowing, the service was nice, and we all had a great time. Sure, it’s a dive but it adds to the charm. They offer your typical pub grub, burgers, fries, sandwiches… you get the idea. While the food may be on the greasy side, this place get’s 4 stars in my book for having Firestone Union Jack IPA on tap– my favorite! They have pinball, pool tables, a couple tv’s for your viewing pleasure, and Thursday night triva-of course!

The Belmonts Inn is a centrally located neighborhood bar that is popular with sports fans, pool players, gamblers, stoners, burger lovers, pinball fanatics and friends of daytime drinking. What more could a person want in their local bar? Cheap prices? They have it; $ 4 micros & meals under $ 10 They are known for their burgers. I had an order of wings $ 7 and they were covered in hot sauce and delicious — I will order them again! Most bartenders are very friendly, particularly Bob whom is outstanding! Highly recommended! True story: I’m at Belmont’s Inn and they raised all the prices by a .25 cents. I giggled as I bought my next beer that I have never been at a happy hour where the prices went up!

Belmont Inn is nothing special. Not saying I don’t go there from time to time. It’s alright to watch a game. The food is mediocre at best. the bar has a ton of outlets for charging your phone or w/e. its surrounded by a lot of yuppier upscale bars so its an oddly refreshing downgrade.
