Great service, prices, atmosphere. Not sure why they have so few stars. Highly recommended. Cutest bathroom sink I’ve ever seen.

Best bar in Portland! Where all the coolest people hang out & work! They have djs every night and amazing infusions. It’s great for a date or for a party.

This was a very enjoyable bar. Great location, perfect seating. Most staff was very friendly. However, the bar tender was standoffish from the beginning. I’ve never been treated quite like this anywhere. I was accused of not tipping enough and forcefully asked to leave. This is my first time ever being asked to leave a bar. This is my first Unilocal review. I was tipping. I can’t speak for everyone in my party, but It’s universally understood people are tipped for good service. Honestly, I feel like I tipped the person too much for the service I received. That being said — The gentleman working in the back(I believe his name was Fernando) was extremely nice and inviting to all guests. What I paid for hopefully goes towards staff like himself. This seems like a simple bar. This a simple situation. Get a better bartender on Tuesday nights(it won’t be hard). Or just go somewhere else.

Upon entering this cozy romantic Victorian home, one almost feels as if they stepped into another era. 3 of us ladies, went on a Sunday evening. There were less than 10 of us patrons in total. A nice quiet evening. I ordered a tasty gin gimlet. Perfect drink for a lazy Sunday. The bartender was friendly and talkative. With our drinks in hand, we proceeded up the stairs which opened up to other rooms. Found a cozy couch to lounge in. Beech street parlor is a great place, to catch up with friends or perfect for date night. I probably wouldn’t seek it out on a Friday/Saturday night, unless that’s your thing.

Oh I love everything about Beech Street Parlor. I’m bummed it took so long for me to discover it. Ambiance is half the battle for a great bar, and this place is a dream. I want to live here and want to use the adorable bathroom sink every day. The uploaded photos do not do it justice. The front porch is a prime spot, no matter the weather. This is a cozy and dimly lit date spot but also a great place to pull up a Victorian sofa and catch up with friends. The food is fantastic, namely the white bean dip and the the parlor patty. Their prices are fair and I’ve always gotten a solid drink. I usually go for a rosemary gimlet or jalapeño margarita, both made with their house infusions. If I’m in the mood for a beer, I’ve always had good luck with their drafts. I’ve noticed some reviews, commenting on the unfriendliness of the staff. I haven’t found the bartenders to be hardcore schmoozers but I wouldn’t say they are unfriendly. There can be a bit of a line on nights with djs and obviously on the weekends but it’s a small and chill space, so lots of staff wouldn’t really work. I’m grateful this place is so close to my house. It is definitely toward the top of my list of places to show out of town visitors.

No way this place deserves these reviews. On a Friday night at 7pm they had a single bartender and a food runner. Everything has to go through the bar and it’s not fast. Drinks are $ 8 – 9, aren’t terrible, but mostly ice. Craft price without the craft. Food is pretty good, but not exceptional. The house it’s located in is well decorated but feels like it could fall down at any time. For example, the main door can’t even open all the way because it crashes into the stairs. Those stairs, by the way, are so narrow that you almost fall with every step, going up or down. On the second floor, all the windows are open door to poor ventilation. This causes all the smoke from the cooks to drift right in. In this neighborhood, you have to be really good with all the competition. This place totally misses the mark and I can’t recommend it.

Amazing service and excellent cocktails! I’m currently enjoying a house infused cucumber margarita that’s blowing my mind. The bacon sandwich I just ate was perfect, and Michael the bartender was kind, efficient, and knowledgeable. Plus the DJ is killing it!

Beech Street Parlor will make you feel like you’re in a private home à la New Orlean’s French Quarter… Or the haunted house at Disneyland, obviously minus the haunted part. It’s a type of fancy-intimate that is very rare and relaxing. They have a DJ most nights and the sound system is great. There’s an upstairs level and a porch. Walking around to find a seat, you feel like you’re exploring someone’s house… and they have very fine taste in furniture. Grab one of the Parlor rooms with your friends. They offer drink specials. We all had $ 5 margaritas, which were perfect. Heavy pour and not too salty or sweet. The bartenders are very friendly and accommodating– they somehow found us in the distant, dim parlor room upstairs we sat in to bring us our drinks. Food menu looks pretty great too. Beech Street Parlor is the ultimate place to take a small group of visiting friends.

It’s good for a quick drink if you’re waiting for crowds to congregate at more poppin’ venues, but this is place is severely understaffed for the amount of business it receives. On top of that, the Square credit card processor decided to conk out and it took 10 mins to get back online. Waiting 30 mins for a drink is common at some places, but this place wasn’t even full. I did like the ambiance and the seating arrangements.

Funny, I never write reviews. But Beech Street deserves one. That bartender that everyone else is mentioning in the reviews below, that one with the big glasses and perpetually bad attitude — yeah she’s real and she’s a complete a$$hole. Don’t go here if you want a nice time.

It is a little hard to find. It is located in a non-descript house. While the drinks are good(they infuse their own liquors), when the DJ is playing it is too loud to talk and the bartenders have small to moderate attitudes.

The food and drinks are pretty good here and the atmosphere ain’t bad either… but the bartender(a girl with big glasses) is awful. After reading other reviews about this place it’s obvious that no one likes her. She has constant b**ch face and is always SO bothered if you ask for anything. She definitely acts holier than now, her attitude takes away from or fully ruins the experience. Beware of this lame bartender.

really nice bar! amazing interior, great music playing on vinyl, nice bar tender, and the drinks went down as smooth as they have in some time. We enjoyed the upstairs couch with the Can playing, very elegant. one of my new favourite bars

Absolutely the worst experience I’ve had in a bar in my life, and that’s actually saying more than you might think. I was visiting Portland last week and went here late night to see a friend who was DJ’ing. Sat at the bar with my sister and my best friend and we all ordered drinks. Apparently the bartender felt we didn’t tip her well enough because she showed the check to her co-worker, they glared in our direction and immediately assumed the nastiest of all attitudes.(I believe her name was Jacqueline, but I wouldn’t swear by it.) So we were sitting there chatting with our friend Marty while he kept the songs going, when suddenly, the bartender took one of our drinks away while our backs were turned(a glass of barely sipped prosecco). When we inquired about where my friend’s drink had gone, the bartender scarcely glanced at us as she told the most wonderful lie, «I cleared it, it was empty.» We protested immediately, it was certainly not empty! We’d been there about 15 minutes and my friend hadn’t had more than a few sips of her drink. Then this deplorable person changed her story: «It’s my job to take drinks away from people who are too visibly intoxicated.» This was too much! My friend was the designated driver and the soberest of us all! I admit that after my initial confusion wore off and the understanding set in that the drink had been revoked(without warning or offer of a refund) due to her really negative feelings towards us, I called this woman an unfortunate name. I may have called her a few unfortunate names. At this point my drink was still in my hand when she barged over in a fury and snatched it from me, sending the contents flying all over the place, including all over my clothes and bag. I think I called her one final epithet, contemplated picking up a chair and throwing it at her, and then contemplated spending the night in jail before deciding the b**** wasn’t worth it and walking away. So that put a quick end to what had otherwise been a great night out. It’s too bad, because this place looks like it could be fun if the service wasn’t a nightmare. In 14 years in New York I’ve never experienced anything like this, I can’t believe that it happened during a visit to Portland! Truly disgusted by this gross display of power tripping and tip-retaliation. She definitely earned the crappy tip my sister left!

Worst service in town. One bartender on a Friday night and despite sitting at the bar right in front of her waiting for another drink, was ignored for over a half hour, even though she came over, took my empty glass, and just walked away. Terrible attitude as well, and clearly was annoyed by all of the customers. My date and I ended up leaving and going somewhere else. The furniture and wall paper is pretty and everything, but not enough to get me to go back!

Loved the look of this wonderful place and the drinks were good as well! Here is my only complaint. The SERVICE is lacking so so so much. It’s almost like people don’t enjoy the patrons that are there to give them money HMMMM?(It’s the job you have chosen). Anyway, I will keep coming back in hopes of an improvement in this facet! I really want this to be a place that I can brings friends to whole hearted. CHEERS! KP

I came here upon recommendation from some friends. The décor is classy and darling, I like that they have an upstairs and a downstairs, I love there is a DJ, and I love that they infuse their own booze. I had the jalapeño margarita, which was ok but didn’t wow me. However, they lose two stars for the smug bartender and my pierogi plate which was a total rip off(4 teeny pierogi’s and a side of beets/sauerkraut/carmelized onions/sour cream that barely fits half the plate?! come on! I wanted more beets!!!) At least the food was good. I just wish there was slightly more. This is a nice place for cocktails and visiting with friends. If I come back, I’d probably order something else foodwise. Also, I won’t expect much in terms of service.

I just went here Saturday night for the first time to meet up with friends. At first I loved the redone house effect — the decore is pretty wicked except for the artwork. I get what they were going for but the old time paintings are more creepy than anything. I am certain the person who picked out the rad wall paper can find something better if they put their mind to it — especially with all the refurbished fabulous light fixtures throughout. I mean come on, your logo is even beautifully designed and you cannot find artwork that doesn’t look generic? The service — just wow… hire a bartender who acts like they want to work there for starters. Next up — I looked at their menu online before going and they had a few drinks I wanted to try. I get there and they do not have the ingredients to make nearly anything. I was asking for really simple items too but no… and was told so in «a tone». A friend went down excited they had several hot pepper vodkas so he asked for a bloody Mary with one — «no, we don’t do that…» Their drinks are priced well but when I have no clue as to their menu — they have their infused stuff listed but not really what they will and will not make — and apparently they will make very little… I get tired of playing rolette when drink ordering. So this was my first and last visit…

One of my favorite bars in Portland. The inside of the bar is absolutely adorable. Built like an old house, each one has unique period couches and tables to sit at, and gorgeous wall paper. It’s set up like you would drink at home with friends, all gathered on the couch and relaxed. I also really enjoyed the drinks, and thought they had nice specialty cocktails. Will absolutely come back.
