They say Mark is amazing, well, he obviously wasn’t working tonight. My party came in and we were almost ignored till we flagged him down. Is this a tasting bar? Because my friend was told that he didn’t want to open a bottle of wine for just a taste? Seriously? We stuck it out, and the wine was decent, the snack was fine, but the service was absolutely horrible. Which is really too bad, since this part of town really needs a nice ACTUAL wine tasting bar.

Awesome selection. Intimate setting. The owner(?) stuck around late to chat with my spouse and it felt like a small fun gathering with friends, not strangers! I look forward to checking out their tasting nights. It’s clear they are very passionate about wine — and those are the kind of people I want to buy from!

Mark was amazing. I am a wedding and event planner and found his location thru a search of local tasting bars. He was super easy to work with, helped me to create a fun yet laid back environment for my clients. Provided fabulous recommendations to all their guests for beverages to drink and even had the right selection of food. He worked with me on budget, time to set up and clean up for the event and even the time of the event. My clients words were«everything was perfect and we all had a great time» As a planner it means so much to have venues that we can trust. I will for sure be adding Mark and Barrel Fine Wine & Tasting Bar to my list of small venue locations to hold events. Thanks again Mark! Lisa Marie Events by Lisa Marie

We’ve been here 3 times and every time it has been great! Nice wine list by the glass, great selection of wine by the bottle, and great snacks!

My husband and I have attended the Friday night wine tastings. They are a relaxed way to try new wines, along with some nibbles included. It makes for a nice Happy Hour style date night at the end of the week. The interior is quite intimate and inviting. We haven’t had trouble getting a spot to sit. The owner is friendly and engaged with the clientele. He is knowledgable about wines, in a very approachable manner. Nice neighborhood spot to unwind on a Friday night.

A much-needed wine bar in Beaverton! Knowledgeable owner. I had the cheese plate and the Summer Flight of 3 wines… it was very well done! I’ll be back and recommending to everyone I know :-) 5 stars!

Barrel is a small wine bar in a much needed area. They have wine tastings on Fridays 5 wines for $ 8 and they usually serve some cheese and bread. It’s a great meet up place for friends. The owners seem very nice and knowledgable. You feel welcome and not intimidated at all. The only reason I held back one star is that I’d like to see a larger collection of wines. I’m sure that will increase the longer they stay open.

What a great find! My friend and I were looking for a wine bar on the West side and stumbled upon this. We went in on a Saturday afternoon for some wine and cheese — the owner could not have been nicer and the wine was wonderful! We will definitely be back again. PS — they have wine tasting every Friday night… looking forward to attending sometime soon!

Very knowledgeable owner that didn’t talk down to this wine novice. You can tell he has knowledge and passion about wine. He seems very sincere about staying away from mainstream wines and instead promoting smaller, vital, you can’t believe that only costs $ 12 wines among other off-the-beaten-path vintages. I’d recommend the Friday night tastings if you’re looking for social interaction and hob-nobbing with other wine lovers. Otherwise, it was a good people-watching place on the Thursday night I went. I’d recommend giving it a try if you tread the off-beaten path.

Located in a strip mall, Barrel is a different kind of wine shop experience. I know it’s simpler to pick up a bottle or two with your groceries, but sometimes it is nice to mix it up. We popped into Barrel and were pleasantly surprised by the selection of wines, some you see in the store, some that you don’t. The owner is very knowledgeable, personable and a nice guy. He’ll talk to you to find out what you like, and then recommend some other choices too! Wide range of prices. Sells wines by the glass, and some small plates to snack on too! Friday night tastings as well. This might become our Saturday afternoon hangout!

Sweet little wine shop in a great location. Also sells beer and a nice rotating selection of cheese plates, olives, and/or sandwhiches and salad to eat on site. Owner is very knowledgable about wine — and surfing! Sells wine by the glass and by the bottle. There is a wine tasting every Friday evening, but I still have to check that out.
