Oak Hills Brewpub

I left feeling very «eh» about my experience here. Our server was nice, my cider was good, but my food was cold and not very good. I hate to be one of those people that complain something about the food that is clearly in the menu, but I will be on this occasion. When I read that something has onions on it, I sort of imagine sautéed onions, not an entire raw onion chopped and added to your food. I like onions and use them almost every day, but this was overwhelming. Next time I’ll order something else, if there is a next time.

A rundown bar and restaurant in a strip mall that I walked to from my hotel. I ate here on a Monday night and it was an empty restaurant with the exception of a 2 other guests. There was a very small tv so any football fans probably found a better bar to watch the game. The food wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be but I only had the chicken Cobb salad and a couple of glasses of wine. Service was fair to good but I was sitting at the bar so I probably should have been given more attention then needed.

Our server was awesome. Food alright. Sweet potato fries undercooked, but the server remedied that. Burger was great, fish portion was small…

Jason and I both adore the apple cider here! It is exceptional! That alone is worth a five star rating! Impeccable! Perfect at Happy Hour on Fridays: p (We also adore the growlers!)
The staff is pretty friendly and cordial — also funny :-)
The food is delicious! We love the cajun tots, the hummus happy hour platter, and various other vegan/​vegetarian-​friendly dishes: p :p
I like the almost art deco feel to the place, it has a very ambient look to it :-)

Been here twice this week, just moved to town. The food I thought was great. The burgers were tasty, the fish and chips delicious, the Old El Paso salad wasn’t that good but the chicken strips saved it. Carnitas tacos had good flavor but the meat was dry. The only real complaint I had was they charged to much for a double bloody mary, $ 6.75 for the drink and another $ 6.75 for the extra shot… so the Damn thing cost over $ 13. Felt pretty ripped off.

Neat spot, for lunch and a brew, lotta taps, and TONS of different whiskeys. Had a loaded up hot dog that was really good!!! Definitely coming back the next time I am up here to explore more of the menu and the bar!

For a mcmen. this spot is actually not bad! My husband and I have experienced horrible service at other locations. We were greeted by a very nice gal then switched over to a different server who was also pretty nice and attentive.
My husband had a burger and I had the chicken sandwich. Both were delicious as well as our tots!

Mcmenamins is really lacking some flavor in their food lately. This is the second Mcmenamins that we went to order burger and it had no flavor at all. Reuben sandwich was not even cooked properly it seemed like somebody just microwaved it. We had to put tons of hot sauce in the soup and salt and pepper to make it tasty. Server was very nice and responded well to our requests. I don’t think we will be coming back any time soon to eat here …

GREAT BREWS AND REAL, FRESH FRIES
* They make UNFROZEN fries from actual UNFROZEN potatoes.. awesome
* They mix brews to order, hammerhead stout 50:50 with terminator becomes haminator, or whatever you want, they aren’t stuck up about it
* Growlers aren’t very expensive, staff are casual and down to earth
* Casual dining for sure, not a place to go to impress, just good casual food and drink

Hi team, I just wanted to let you all know, I’ve seen you at your worst, and I’ve seen you at your best; and even though you were slammed tonight for an unsual Wednesday night, you guys are still the best! Sitting at the bar was fun as hell and you all have a great sense of humor. The food was perfect and arrived at perfect temperature. For any vegetarians out there: try the «Mr. Nice Guy» — the smoked mozzarella is bomb on this wrap! Again, every employee did a wonderful job tonight by smiling and making the best of a busy situation and you treated us like champions. Thanks for all the hospitality, remember to keep smiling and throwing the jokes — makes for a lot more relaxed and approachable experience. Thank You. Cheers!

Dreadfully BAD BAD BAD
I cannot recommend this restaurant until the substantial «attitude issues» with the serving staff are resolved by management,
Our food server, Louise, was obviously having a bad night — and she took it out on the patrons, It too over FIFTY FIVE MINUTES from the time our food order was taken to get a simple hamburger and a reuben sandwich, When the food was finally served, it was obvious it had been sitting for quite some time. The fries were cooled down to room temperature,. The grilled bread on the reuben was now so hard it was difficult to bite through,.
This establishment may have been «trendy» twenty years ago — but now it is a prime candidate for one of those «bar rescue’ programs.
The McMennamins organization needs to review their «Customer Service Expectations» with the management of this restaurant.

I loved the staff and their friendly attitude.

The Oak Hills Brewpub has long since been a staple for a late evening get-​together with friends. I think this Brewpub is making an effort to become more personal like a true Public House. I feel welcomed when I arrive, the staff has made a point to know my friends and I by name.
If you are looking for get in-​get out type restaurant, this is not the place. But if you’re looking for a laid back atmosphere that encourages socializing and tipping a pint — then this is your neighborhood pub.
I read of others complaining of the beer selection — and they seem to have the usual Mcmennamins selection and then some. My goto is always «what’s on Nitro?»
On top of that, they have an expanding selection of Whiskies form McMennamins distilled spirits to bourbon, rye, and scotch. There is always something to satisfy my palette.

A rather unexciting suburban McMenamins location, unfortunately. Our waitress was nice, the food was as per normal, and the beer and blackberry cider OUTSTANDING.

Strip Mall Location: I am really disappointed with this location. I stopped in today for a drink and actually had difficulty finding a table that wasn’t already filled with dirty dishes. There apparently was only three employees working. One guy in the kitchen, another guy splitting his time between the kitchen and waiting on tables and a petite dark haired girl with tattoos that was more interested in her phone than the customers. I had to go to the kitchen and ask her to bring me my bill. When she did, I tried to give her cash on the spot but she just set the bill on the table and walked away. I also noticed other customers having the same difficulty and by judging by some of the other reviews my experience is not an isolated one. This location is giving Mcmenamin’s a bad name. They should seriously look at a staffing change and possibly a management as well.

This location gets a star for customer service because that is really the only good thing about this place. Food is mediocre. Tots are good. You have to do the Cajun though. The beers they have on tap are rarely to my liking. I am an IPA girl and the ones they have taste watery or tart to me. But beer is more on preference.
I have found much better selection and beer at the Imbrie location plus it has a very cool atmosphere. I suggest there instead.

This is the 2^nd time we’ve been to this bar. Both times we’ve had pretty bad service. Both were from the female manager. This time, she was rude to my girlfriend while I was in the restroom and then was friendly when I got. That’s just the attitude, the service was just as poor. We just ordered a drink but the people next to us at the bar who had food were forced to wait to get their beer. Not the worst service of the 53 McMenamins out there, but certainly in the bottom five.
UPDATE: I have changed the rating from 1 star to 2 stars. I was contacted directly by the manager of Oak Hills apologizing and asking for more details. While it doesn’t change our particular situation, any establishment that cares that much about what their customers think deserves recognition for their efforts.

Out of all the McMin’s that I have been to, this one has given me the worst experiences.
We had a waitress that forgot our beers on happy hour 2 times in a row but charged us for them at full price. When we told her we never received them AND that the beers we did order were all on happy hour she gave us attitude and said she’ll «just have to take our word for it».
Another time my boyfriend and I went for dinner and the waitress ignored me the whole time and only listened to my boyfriend. She wouldn’t look at me or talk to me and when we were being silly together and laughing she looked at me like I was some stupid piece of Sh*… She was RUDE
AND last time we will probably ever go:
My girlfriends and I went for lunch, we all got our food except for one friend, they forgot her order of tacos so we had to ask how much longer for those… when the waitress went back to the kitchen to tell the cook he said super loud «I don’t want to make tacos!»…I understand jobs suck… but could you keep it to yourself?

The female manager at this location is very rude and unprofessional. Service is slow and food is way overpriced considering the quality. Beer is good but does not make up for the bad service here.
I recently moved to the area and thought this place would be my go-​to spot (5 minute walk from my front door). Unfortunately, I will not be returning to this establishment.

One of my favorite McMinamins and overall favorite places to eat. I’ve been eating here since I was a baby. 27 years. I remember sitting in their wooden boosters seats eating fries!
They have always set the standard for amazing service. Going to the Oak Hills Brew Pub is like going to Cheers «Everybody knows your name.» I used to always get The Famous a Pizza Bread until they stopped serving it. Still have my fingers crossed they will someday bring it back.
Overall, you can be sure the food will be high quality, decently priced, and beer Exceptional always! This place is kind of hiding in a small shopping area but once you discover it, you’ll never look at it the same.
