A&E Factory Service

They don't call, they don't show up for appointments. When you try to call all you get is a recording with a menu, then it hangs up. TERRIBLE COMPANY with absolutely NO customer service.

I had A&E scheduled to come fix our Electrolux washing machine. We waited 12 days for all the 7 huge parts to arrive via UPS– (which are still cluttering our house). They were scheduled to come between 1 – 5 and I did not receive a call until 5:45 saying they didn’t schedule two techs so will have to reschedule. for another 8 days! I called and told them twice that it was unacceptable– we’ve already waited 12 days and cannot wait any longer because of their mistake, but all I got was a «sorry». Now I’m switching to a new repair company that will get me only 2 days sooner, but at least A&E won’t be getting my money!

As with others on here, this company came by way of Lowe’s repair service. My brand new Whirlpool dishwasher didn’t work from day one. I went to Lowe’s to complain. They said be sure I’m using it right. I went two more times, until they said a service person must come, they won’t replace it because it was now past 30 days, and gave me A & E phone number. The technician came and said we needed 2 parts. He ordered them. Scheduled return 3 weeks later to install new parts. Wrong part came, and it was broken, the second part didn’t come at all. Now, 2 ½ months later, still not repaired. They re-​ordered the part, then canceled the order. We’ve called them like 6 or so times. Finally fed up, called Whirlpool directly. They scheduled a repair with a different company within 4 days. We will see how that goes. However, each time we called A & E, they never seemed to know what they were doing, if the part was ordered, who canceled the order, which exact parts were needed … nightmare. Do NOT use this company.

Okay, let me start by saying these guys are the absolute worst. In the event you can’t avoid using them, absolutely refuse to allow Chris to work on your product. I can pretty much promise he will either make it worse or do nothing to help. I have a service warranty contract and I’m literally on incident 8 with these guys. Horrible and frustrating.

Read what people write here, because it’s true. I scheduled an appointment for Friday the 11^th. I called back to make a change in the appointment and they had no record of it under my name or my phone number. I would have gone all week without a working dryer, only to not have them show up and to have to start all over again. In this case I just called another company. Don’t waste time doing biz with this company.

They were scheduled for a stove repair under the first year warranty (AM or PM and then you sit around and wait). The first time the guy came; he was 15 minutes early before the scheduled time window so left something on my door saying he was there an gone. I was 5 minutes early so a net of 10 — called immediately but was told he was already «across town» and could not come back that day. So we rescheduled for a couple of days later — the half day window came and went and no tech. I had to go to work; when I complained about missing a half day of work twice; I got the royal run around… they could care less. So I called GE and they sent someone else out. PS this occurred last year in 2012; I realized I had never posted a rating when I called Lowes to schedule an extended warranty visit for my Samsung washer and they offered this company. There are only 3 authorized choices; the other two are not much better but at least they are local as opposed to an 800 dispatch.

Okay, so yesterday my washer was repaired, and it was repaired flawlessly and completely. I dropped my rating from 5 stars to 4 because the communication and complexity of the company system is a 3 but the service is a 5. Much like others, after the first service call, the tech left and a few days later parts started showing up via UPS. The parts sat around in our house for about a week, and then we got an automated call that the first appt on a Sat the tech would come back and install them. We already had plans, so had to get a house sitter to wait for him.
So expect to have a tech come, spend a couple hours to diagnose– leave, order parts that will come to your home UPS and within 2 weeks the tech will come back and install them. Gone is the «show up and fix it» standard.

The door of my Kitchenaid dishwasher popped open mid cycle so many times I had to stand there pushing on the door until the end. I got help from the Kitchenaid website and they sent out Jeff from A&E. He fixed it in 15 minutes! He also got there when he said he would, charged me for a service call (that included labor) plus parts. I couldn’t be more statisfied with the service I received from this company. If I ever need to call them I will!

WORST APPLIANCE REPAIR COMPANY EVER. The gentleman that came to my house was rude and extremely aggressive. When I asked any questions, he was condescending and at one point I asked him to relax. Upon leaving my house, he slammed the door. I called the company and the same gentleman happened to answer. I asked for his manager and he said he owned the company. I will make sure NO ONE I know ever uses this company. Save yourself the time and effort and find a respectful and professional company — not this one… What a joke.

AE did NOTHING for me but waste my time.
I scheduled an appointment three days in advance and was given a four-​hour window for when they might arrive. I took the morning off work to let them in, but AE never came. When I called back to inquire, they suggested that I take the afternoon off, too. They said they would page one of their field technicians and that he *might* come by today. They said there was no way of confirming this and that the only way to guarantee service was to reschedule.
I tried to run my frustration «up the chain» but was told there was nothing that could be done as the folks I was talking to were just «people in the data center».
Two hours later, I got an automated call from AE saying it was «important» that I call back. When I returned the call, I was placed on hold then, when I finally did talk to a human, she told me she wasn’t sure why I received the message and that it must have been a mistake.
AE did not offer any compensation for my wasted time or any discount for a future house call.
Do yourself a favor and avoid AE Factory Service at all costs!

A&E fixed our Frigidaire stove, and that’s the most important thing.
I didn’t call A&E directly, but got hooked up with them via calling Sears Service and Repairs, who contracts with A&E.
The serviceman was a nice older guy who came exactly at the appointment time and worked quickly. In discussing what causes appliance controls to go kaflooey, he regaled me with a tale about a certain restaurant in the 3500 block of Powell where he, on a service call, discovered that armies of cockroaches had climbed inside two of the restaurant’s refrigerators and shorted out the electrical components in both fridges.
What happened with our stove is that when we would turn the big burner on, we could here scary popping noises coming from inside the controls console.
On the first visit, the serviceman did not have a replacement control part, and being New Year’s weekend could not find a store open to get the part, so we had to schedule a follow-​on appointment. By the way, the serviceman assured me that there never was a fire hazard. Even though the part was arcing inside in the stove, the worst that could happen would be that the circuit breaker would trip.
What I found a little odd was that A&E said they would UPS the replacement part to my Portland address just prior to the next service call, instead of the serviceman just bringing the part. OK. Fine. But I was surprised that earlier this week when I was at my Seattle address, a UPS truck dropped off the stove part there. Weird, because I never gave A&E my Seattle address. Still I thought it was all good because it meant I knew I had the part for sure when the serviceman came.
However, when I got back to Portland, I discovered A&E had also UPS’d the same part to my Portland residence. How’d that happen? Well, at least I have a spare burner control if this problem happens again!
