Went here having no clue what was wrong with my BMW– idling strange with weird noises and operating in safe mode. They kept it about a day and it came back to me like a new car. They were very honest and helped me in every way possible. The pricing is very fair and the staff is incredible!

Everyone here was fantastic! My first visit to S & S and I was treated great and my Volvo is back on the road. I cannot say enough thanks to Robert and his crew. Their customer service is top notch and the guys in the bays really know what they are doing. I will definitely be back!

Let me start off by saying to Thomas L. (Mr. Know it all) are you a secret shopper of the auto repair industry? For you to write such a long detailed review primarily about your knowledge of cars and how it could have been fixed for less and in less time you should have done it yourself. Not to mention you didn’t have to even lift the car like you stated! It’s okay… you don’t need to come back. This guy Rob has worked on my wife’s car her parents and aunts car not to mention mine prior to him even owning his company and I have never had issues. I will continue to refer people to him.
Further more drive your crap back to Costa mesa… they’re probably the reason your crap was leaking in the first place.

Fast and friendly what else is there to say.

I could write a book about how professional, honest and courteous Rob and his staff are, but I won’t. All you need to know is that this service center is the last of the great true and HONEST car repair shops around. I would use this place again and again. For me to take my car 50 miles out of the way to be serviced says a lot about their level of service and my trust in their integrity and honesty. I have been looking for a reliable mechanic fir my 2006 VW Beetle and have been unsuccessful… leaving me to have to go to the dealer to fix my car… bad news.
Last week I was referred to S&S Motorworks and can say that it was a very good experience. The staff there are friendly and approachable. The owner, Robert, is a fair and friendly as well.
I would recommend this establishment to anybody looking to have their cars (especially VW’s) worked on.

I have been bringing my BMW here for years. Rob and his crew are great and I can always depend on them for any mechanical issue from a simple warning light to a head gasket job. I would highly recommend checking them out!

Beware of this sleazy garage. Take your German cars elsewhere. These creeps will cheat you every time. Extremely dishonest and rude!

I have been bringing my multiple bmw’s here for service for years. I am completely capable of having my staff service my cars but find that Rob’s expertise and fair pricing makes this a sensible place to get your European car serviced. Many of my friends and family have used S and S as well with success. Getting work done on your high end car isn’t cheap, but that’s because it isn’t easy. Take it to the experts and let them handle your car properly the first time!

So I have been a long time customer and I was reading previous reviews and was appalled at some of these peoples comments. Thomas L. obviously doesn’t know about cars as much as he claims he does. If he was so mechanically inclined he should of fixed his damn car himself! This is the best shop around with great prices. Robert is always honest and genuinely cares about bettering the performance of your vehicle. He is a great guy and always makes you feel welcomed! I would and have recommended this place to all my friends and family. And as for Scarlett’s review, its pretty funny. Doesn’t sound like Roberts character at all. So pathetic!
So like I stated before this is the best shop around with great prices, great service and honest people!

Just a little background on myself… I am very mechanically inclined and I usually do all the work on my motorcycle and car unless I am limited by lack of tools or time. Normally, I take my car to Beach House Imports in Costa Mesa or the Audi dealership in West Covina. I tried this place to find a good independent local shop. I gave this place a shot based on reviews, but now I realize that many of the other reviews were from people that don’t know anything about their car or shady mechanic techniques.
So my Audi A4 had an oil leak… I knew exactly where the leak was… the vacuum pump and valve cover gasket. To test out the diligence and expertise of the owner Rob, I played dumb and told him I don’t know, but I think it could be the upper oil return hose. So true to shady mechanic form, he tells me he doesn’t know what it could be, but he thinks it’s gonna be $ 400. How do you come up with a price when you haven’t even diagnosed the problem?
I made it really easy for him… if he had just plugged in the vag-​com, the computer would have told him exactly where to look for a leak. So then he tells me to leave for a few hours and then come back for my car. When I return, I see that he only replaced the 2 inch section of the upper return hose (literally a $ 2 part) with some bullsh*t generic hose and told me that it’s all good. You don’t even have to lift the vehicle up to do this, and it would have taken 5 – 7 minutes to do. He graciously told me that i’d be only billed $ 300 instead. What a nice guy. Rather than argue with him and have him inevitably hold my car hostage, I paid and left. I did not want to deal with this shady sh*t.
Not only did this mechanic not fix the issue, but he grossly overcharged for doing basically nothing. I don’t know if it was laziness or incompetence, but bottom line is that my issue was not resolved.
I wasn’t going to bother writing this review but I don’t want any other locals being fooled by these inflated positive reviews. If he senses that he can take advantage of you, he WILL TAKE ADVANTAGE OF YOU and OVERCHARGE YOU. I was very disappointed because I really wanted to find a good honest local Audi mechanic. I ended up just driving out to Beach House Imports and getting my car repaired. I played the same game over there and they correctly diagnosed and repaired my car.
On a side note, I encountered his wife prior to checking in and leaving my car. I believe she does all the customer service and admin stuff. She is super nice and is a valuable asset to the business. Aside from that, this place sucks.

My 05 bmw m3 was having a strange squeaking noise coming from the motor and i was not sure where it was coming from, as well as a slow oil leak coming from the bottom of the motor. Robs guys were able to quickly assess the problem and and take care of it. I plan to return to S&S Motorworks for all my mechanic needs. Thanks for taking care of my car Rob!

Beware of this place!
I had my car towed to the nearest mechanic last year and these people ended up stealing the headlights (halos) on my BMW after my husband threatened them, they came out and handed him the lights.
They took complete advantage of a female with her 11 year old daughter. Shame on them especially because the owner has a daughter

I am a local business owner. I have been referring my customers to Rob at S + S for a long time. My customers call me back and thank me for referring them to such an honest mechanic. They also help me out when we get into a pinch. Thanks guys for taking such good care of us!

Needed a mechanic to service my 2007 Audi in the Inland Empire. S&S was recommended to me by Chaffey Auto Body in Montclair, so I took a chance on a new mechanic and am really glad I did. I called them on a Friday morning and they fit me right in that day. They took care of the oil service, and also figured out what the problem was with my turbo, and worked with my extended insurance to ensure that I was covered. Robert, the owner, kept in touch by phone during the day, and explained to me exactly what work needed to be done. He was really nice, and the price seemed totally reasonable. They have 4 work bays there, and I saw a bunch of MBZ’s and Audi’s, as well as some BMW’s. I’ll definitely be going back!

This is the place where you can trust the people that will fix or maintain your car. I been going to this place for the last 3 years and Rob has been very helpful. He is not the type of guy that will sell you stuff or tell you stuff most mechanic would do. This place really make sure that your car get the proper fix. Also the best thing I like about this place, I can drop-​off my car after business hours. Rob and his team are very accommodating and always check online for coupon. They have the best price!

SnS Motorworks owner Robert and staff have made car repair less stressful for our family. This family owned business makes you feel at home… and it’s really clean too.

I bought a 2003 vw passat for my daughter and owner Rob and his brother Fernando went they it completely for me. They were always super friendly, didn’t try to push unnecessary products on me (ie: new brakes, tires, etc) that weren’t needed, and were honest with me on a time frame for the repairs. Too bad all my cars aren’t German because I’ll be coming back here for many years on all service and repairs.
