Disappointed about my cheese enchiladas for lunch… they were warm and the inside of them was hardly melted.

Consistent, personable and tasty. Solid TexMex menu. I rarely have an issue unless I sit on the patio, they tend to forget you’re out there. Fajitas taste good but they are sliced with the grain not against it which makes the beef chewy and dry. The parking spaces are super small, I recommend parking in the back.

Not the best mexican or tex-mex around, but one of the few places that have white queso. Their nacho appetizer comes as individual nachos topped with bean cheese, which is awesome and much better than a plate of nachos with uneven topping distribution. Their taco salad comes with a chili con carne sauce, which I think is more regional. I’ve never had that on a taco salad before. It was alright but the shell seemed like it was store bought, not actually made. The $ 10 shrimp cocktail tasted like V8 juice and we sent it back. So with all that in mind, there are some tasty dishes(like their tortilla soup) and some misfires. But if you’re in the mood for white queso, then this is the place to go.

We’re so disappointed with this place tonight that I had to write. Some of the most terrible service we’ve ever received, and with the restaurant almost empty! The waitress we first met was anything but enthusiastic or welcoming. Quesos we ordered took an exceptionally long time to come out and when they did come out after asking about them twice, they were so cold that we sent them back. We had to ask for silverware twice. The gentleman that took our food order was obviously new. He didn’t know the names of the dishes when they arrived and asked other waiters in Spanish what the plates were called. The food was mediocre at best. Chicken flautas might as well have come from the frozen food section of a grocery store. We had asked for an entrée to be split on separate bills, which wasn’t done. Then our waiter charged another table’s bill on our credit card. And we only knew this because we were seated by the register. Not that he informed us of this mistake. It would have gone a long way to at least update us on correcting the mistake. Will not be going back.

Check my other reviews I NEVER give a bad review always finding something redeeming about a place. Papa Nachos is the exception. Bad service over multiple visits and closing early because of rain… Rain! The food is average at best and the restaurant is nicely decorated. The is about all the positive I can say. Thankfully tonight this place closed early and I tried Cactus restaurant 2 blocks down and had an excellent meal.

If I could give this restaurant no stars I would! The refried beans taste like chalk. The rice is bland. This restaurant has no flavor non! Don’t get the nasty green sauce. I do not know where this recipe came from but it is N-A-S-T-Y! The hot sauce is ok but it’s very basic. The booths are not clean, napkins on floor. Chips on seats. The restaurant temp was too hot, my husband could barely stand it! I will not go to this restaurant again if I happen to pass through here. If your curious they do have a drive though window. Sweet tea was good :) sorry papa nacho but make better food.

Fair at best. Poor service and over priced for portion size. I got the Tacos al Carbon and they barely had any meat in them but were pricey. Go a few more blocks and eat at the Cactus.

Currently no beer or wine = –1 star Queso had to be mixed with red sauce to have any flavor at all. I’m not a fan of over the top spicy hot sauce — I liked the sauce she brought with the chips but the queso was bland to the point of being tasteless. = –1 star 3-enchilada plate — had 2 cheese enchiladas &1 beef enchilada — I was happy that there were onions in the cheese enchiladas and the beef enchilada did have some flavor. = even Rice & beans could have come out of a can for all the good they were. .. = –1 star That’s it — this restaurant will probably do OK in Pittsburg — any closer to D/FW and it’d be gone in 6 months or less. P. S. my meal came to $ 14.55 and I gave the girl a $ 20 — she brought back a Fiver and $ 0.45 in silver. I know it’s a small town but if she wanted a tip she should have brought 5 $singles. .. .. Just a thought. P. P. S. I was happy to see the two D.P.S. Troopers come in — I always appreciate the presence of armed Law Enforcement in any establishment — that way I don’t have to use my ammo — it’s too expensive these days.

Great quesadillas and fajitas. Chips were stale, the corn and flour tortillas were stale. Hot sauce was great and the service was fantastic.
