La Mia Casa

First time visit… I am a firm believer that Pizza should be based on two things… crust (dough) and the sauce. The toppings can always cover a multitude of bad base ingredients. I have to say that I was more than pleased with the pizza I got. It was a «Meat Lovers» Crust was perfect, the sauce was not tangy; it was nicely balanced. The toppings were normal fair; just the right portions. The service and staff were excellent. Very pleasant. The customer service is what I really grade a business on. I was more than pleased and we will make this our go-​to place for pizza in the future. HIGHLY SATISFIED!

The calzones are huge and amazing! I highly recommend stopping by here! They’ve really upgraded it in the past few years and now there’s entertainment some nights as well.

Cheese pizza is on point most of the times we have gotten it here. There has been 1 time in all the times it wasn’t great. They have a decent selection of apps but not some where that i would go just for wings or just for mac bites. Nice shows on Wednesday and Thursdays and the weekends. I wouldn’t go without knowing what the show is. I feel like sometimes they have metal shows and i am not ALWAYS in the mood for that although most of the people that attend those shows do rock them out pretty good. Jazz nights are open mic on Thursdays, there is a good crowd so it may take a little to get acclimated to playing with this group. Pizza is pretty quick and i haven’t noticed any drop off between take out and eating in house. I am left feeling they are a little overpriced somtimes although you can get two beers for $ 7 which isn’t bad. Two pizzas and a salad made up of a head of lettuce and four olives was around $ 50. Always good about the cougar card discount which i feel like most businesses roll their eyes about. They have pool but not on some nights where there is music. Good variety of activity and hang out with things to do, definately worth checking out. Dining area isn’t my favorite.

I have not eaten anything else here besides pizza. The pizza is the closest you will get to NY pie in Peterborough. The owners are from NJ. They also have a bar with a very good selection of bottled beer. They also have live music shows in the bar. As far as I know this is the only place in Peterborough besides Harlows you can see live music. Okay, there are classical and folk shows elsewhere, and sometimes music at Toadstool. This is one of only two places in P town you can drink and watch some music. I cannot speak for the other food, I guess another reviewer said stay away from spag and balls. I am also not a fan of having my food nuked.

They have become Peterborough’s go to place for thin crust pizza. The owners are always there and treat you well. The quality is consistent. The crusts are thin and pliable. Fold well just like a street slice. Cheese and sauce are nicely emulsified out of the oven. Wait a few minutes, as the tastes are more discernable once it cools a bit. The salads are heavy on the iceberg but are quite fresh.
Subs are not quite to the same level of the pizzas. Typical NE pizza joint. (I got spoiled growing up in the Delaware Valley). Nice selection of bottled beer. Pretty scant selection of soft drinks, especially if you wish to support regional bottlers.
There are many, many pizza options in Peterborough. This place is worth our support. And an important point — You can go next door to the Bantam Grill for a craft beer, in a great setting, while you wait.

Don’t go here if you’re very hungry. Yes it’s good food but not worth a 40min wait… while being the only customers in the restaurant.

I would’ve given this dive a minus star.
I went in ordered spaghetti and meatballs.
I sat down and I could see everything happening in the kitchen. The guy making it had a long white scraggly beard. Watched him get the spaghetti and put it in the microwave. Then the lady went out back got a bag of frozen meatballs.
Those also went in the microwave. After all this they plated it and put it in the oven
Well after I saw all that I just got up and left.
If I wanted microwave food I would have stayed home and used mine.
Plus who knows what was loose in that beard that could of fallen in the food…
I’ll never go back to this dive ever again.

They have the best prices pizza in town and the yummiest in my opinion and they had added a small bar but still child friendly I have no criticism for this place.

I love this place. They’re very friendly, the food is terrific, and it’s the best pizza. I used to go in my town for pizza, but now I drive out of my way because of the friendly people in the terrific food.

This place is as good as it gets for a strip mall pizza joint. There are a lot of places in Peterborough to get mediocre pizza and this isn’t one of them… the crust here is superior to any other place in town and in fact is better pizza than I’ve ever had at any other pizza place at a strip mall. It really does taste like NY style pizza. They also have great combinations of toppings and gluten free as well.

It was such a treat for my friends and I to come across La Mia Casa after a long day hiking Monadnock. We got the Greek pizza with sausage on half for the non-​vegetarians in the group, and it really hit the spot! I saw someone at another table got the pasta alfredo with chicken and that looked really tasty too!

Thank goodness, a pizza and sandwich place I’m happy to do business with! We almost didn’t try La Mia Casa because we didn’t like the place that was there previously-​silly, I know-​but we like to give everything a shot, and we were pleasantly surprised. Excellent pizza and grinders! This is now the place we go to if we want either. The fish and chips were meh, but that’s okay. The people behind the counter are super friendly.
I really hope this place starts getting more business. I’d hate to see them close because their food is really good.

After reaching a tipping point with the declining quality and service at our normal local pizza spot (see my other reviews), and hearing good things about the pizza from friends, we decided to try La Mia Casa.
We ordered a 18″ Hamburger Pizza, which came in at a very reasonable $ 11.50. We were paying that much at our old place for a smaller plain cheese pizza, so to get a significantly larger pizza with a topping for the same price is a great value.
My girlfriend called in the order and the employee that took the order was very friendly and polite. When we arrived the staff was friendly, attentive, and our pizza was ready for us, pipping hot.
We returned home, opened the box, and there was a beautiful NY style hamburger pizza, cooked to perfection. Just what you would expect from NY style pizza, 8 large, thin slices, with plenty of cheese, and generous amounts of perfectly cooked hamburger.
The cheese on the pizza was great, and the crust had that crispy on the outside, light, fluffy and chewy (in a good way) on the inside.
The Hamburger topping was very fresh, perfectly browned, but still moist, not overcooked like the typical hamburger topping you get at a lot of pizza places. The freshness of the hamburger topping really enhanced the experience and was a definite sign of care, and quality.
The sauce was good, but could use a bit more flavor, my one small critique of the whole experience, but it was enjoyable, and no where near a deal breaker. We were super pumped about this pizza while we ate it, and were commenting about how we couldn’t wait to go back again for more.
The slices were so big and filling that both of us were full after just two slices, and we each had two large slices leftover, which we had the next day and were great re-​heated.
Our first experience at La Mia Casa was an excellent one. Friendly and polite service, great pizza, that is high quality, and an excellent value for your money.
