This place is closed and for good reason. Went way downhill over the years. Too bad

Came here on a Thursday night around 5pm and there might have been two other tables being occupied. We waited 15 mins for drinks and over an hour for our meals which included two steak salads and a bowl of spaghetti! I will admit that the steak salad wasn’t bad but I don’t see how it could possibly take an hour to make these dishes when the place was practically empty?!? Our waitress came to our table three times during the hour and a half ordeal and acted as if she was busy busy but she clearly wasn’t? Just a weird and disappointing experience. Wouldn’t recommend this place.

Had to send back my steak 2 times because it was still cold raw meat in the center. I ordered medium. Bad service and overall I am sad we came here and wasted our money.

Two stars solely for the old-timey, historical atmosphere. The creaking wood board floors and charming«musty» smell is awesome. What’s not awesome is the food, the awful service, the abundance of flies buzzing around the restaurant, and the«restaurant equipment for sale» sign in the front window. I don’t think this place is going to be open much longer, which is sort of a shame given its history in Parker. We were seated around noon in an empty restaurant. There was ONE other table the entire time we were there. It took over 10 minutes for us to be greeted and then even longer to get our iced teas and water. The waitress seemed really frazzled but there was nobody in the place! I ordered a chopped steak and broccoli(they call it the ‘slim and trim’ on the menu). I ordered it prepared medium. What I was served was a BLACK charred burger. It was SOBADLY black on the bottom, they had plated it so the worst looking side was«hidden» from view. This shows me that the cook knew my burger was overcooked and didn’t care to fix it before sending it out of the kitchen. The broccoli was okay. I didn’t want to make a fuss about it so I just scraped off most of the black gunk and ate it. Dried out, bland and just plain BAD. While we were neglected by our server, we had plenty of buzzing flies for company. Flies all over everything! Even in the bathroom! Flies on our drinks, our silverware, buzzing around our food. I got a workout with all the swatting and shooing while I was trying to eat. Just gross. This place is overpriced, the food is bad and the service is just plan horrible. Until the Warhorse gets its act together, avoid it. It’s obvious that the workers, cooks and owners don’t care about this place. I’ll bet you 10 bucks this place will be out of business within the next month.

Second time going. I decided to give them another chance after my first horrible experience. Big mistake. Horrible food. Never again.

Dirty restaurant. Underwhelming food, and way to much $ for that… no thanks.

We did takeout here tonight. Each of us had a «Two-handed» sandwich, the Taos chicken, which was supposed to be a marinated chicken breast on toasted kaiser roll with guacamole, lettuce and tomato. At no time did we need two hands, and the kaiser roll turned out to be a hamburger bun. The guacamole was missing on both of our sandwiches. My husband was annoyed, so he called to tell them. He said he knew there was nothing they could do now, and the person with whom he was speaking asked why he was calling then. I recommend the Village Inn avocado swiss chicken sandwich if you’re in the mood for a good chicken sandwich. Sad when Village Inn is so much better, when Warhorse used to be so good. My 11-year old grandson says that he thinks VI is for pie rather than for food, but their avocado swiss chicken is about 100 times better than Warhorse Inn food. We won’t be going back.

Sadly in recent years this place has gone downhill. The owner apparently doesn’t read reviews or doesn’t care. It’s not clean, food is bad, drink prices outrageous… My dad wanted to go there for his birthday because it used to be the greatest green chili… not anymore… Until a major overhaul of management and food prep practices has happened we won’t be back. Try the Tailgate next door. great food, great prices, great bands…

Used to dig warhorse the most. Hate to say but I no longer recommend them. Service is better but for what you pay there’s many better places to go. I can’t say anything good. The food was not hot. The waitress messed up my order. And, she plain forgot to put the order in for our friends. Now there was an event going on in Parker so they were stressed. I just don’t dig it given what we paid. The atmosphere is ok for some drinks and I think they have a nice beer menu. Sad to see what’s happened Warhorse.

The we did not eat here on this particular evening, this was a stop on the Parker Wine Walk. The smells as we entered were wonderful the atmosphere seemed very relaxed and cozy will definitely make a point to come here again.

Meh. Unfriendly servers. Food was just ok. My mom’s chile rellenos were hot on the outside and cool on the inside. I tried to talk my folks out of eating here because of the reviews… but I lost the battle. Coming from Phoenix, the food in Colorado is extremely disappointing. Sigh.

Went to Parker because they had an Art Festival at O’Brien Park. We wanted something more substantial than the concession food being served at the Festival so we walked across Main Street to the Warhorse. Big mistake, the restaurant is old, run down, and bordering on dirty. Our service was terrible, the young women, named Rebecca, kept complaining about how busy it was and going on about how sorry she was for the poor service. As I looked around less than half the tables had customers so I’m not sure about the busy part. It got worse when the food showed up. My Mexican Combo Plate was a heap of reheated frozen quality Mexican food covered in a nasty thick green chile gravy. I could not even cut the Tamale with my knife and the Pork Burrito & Relleno were no better. My wife’s Chicken Fried Steak, advertised as «best in the county«on the menu, was greasy, under cooked, and pink in the center. The white gravy was bland and the mashed potatoes were pasty. The food was a total disaster! I rarely give such a poor review, but Warhorse deserves it. Based on our experience last weekend, I can’t see how this place manages to pull things together even on a good day.

This was the first restaurant I ever ate at in Parker — 14 years ago! And its still a favorite of ours. I love their chicken fried steak and the mashed potatoes are delish. The atmosphere is very«old western“ish and I love it. It’s cozy and comfortable. I’m also a big fan of their chili rellenos, steak gonzales and brunch menu!

We were looking for something a little different for dinner on a Saturday night about 6pm. The wife and I like to experiment with different restaurants but with the 13 year old we have to make sure we go somewhere that has the old standby’s of chicken fingers, burgers or pizza, if we don’t want a drama filled night. We remembered that the Warhorse has a little bit of everything(burgers, steaks, mexican, a little bit of Southern), so it seemed like a good choice. We managed to find a parking spot right in front, which never happens for us on Parker Main Street. We walked in and there looked to only be a few people in there. We were afraid we’d have to wait, so that was good, altho I hate to think of them being that dead! The waitress was on the ball and drinks never went dry(altho she was a little disappointed we didn’t stick around and drink the night away). I ordered the chicken fried steak and the wife went for the chicken fried chicken. Both came with a generous helping of mashed potatoes and gravy and everything was stellar. I had a Fat Tire and at $ 5/glass(it was on tap) it seemed a bit steep to me. Two beers each, food and the kid’s stuff and our bill was $ 60 before tip. I could see coming back here because the food really was good, but I’m guessing we either need to come during happy hour(if they have one) or not drink, since half our check was alcohol!

The hubby + stepson ended up here on Saturday night. We managed to find a spot right out front on the street and walked into an almost empty restaurant at 7p. We were kind of surprised, since while we haven’t been here in a bit, we always remembered this place as popular with the Parker populous. We got a booth in the corner and ordered a couple drafts(and a Pepsi for the little one). Our waitress was on top of it. There seemed to be 2 people working for every person in the place. Out drinks came fast, our food quickly and the portions were large and the food was stick to your ribs good. I got the chicken fried chicken(the hubby chicken fried steak) both with mashed and country grave. I actually had to use salt — which I never do — but after that it tasted pretty good. Not a cheap place($ 60 for 3), but it has a nice super quiet atmosphere. It was OK. If in that neck of the woods I could see dropping in for a beer or a bite. It didn’t blow me away, but it was kind of nice to have quiet Saturday night!

We came for the $ 42.80 dinner special(local version of $ 52.80). There was a good number of choices. I hadn’t eaten here for years, even though I live in Parker. We thought we would try it. The service was fast and the presentatiion of the food was incredible. Then came the taste… it underwhelmed. It was boring… no real flavors. I would rate the food at 2 stars, but I’ll give the experience 3 stars since the price and service and presentation were wonderful.

The old grey mare(Warhorse), she ain’t what she used to be… When I first moved to Parker(some 13 years ago) we went out to dinner at the Warhorse almost every week. It was hard to to beat Chicken Fried Steak, mashed potatoes and gravy with veggies and bread for around $ 7. If you wanted something a little healthier, you could get a Hot Garlic Gonzalez Steak with salad for around $ 10. The cilantro-lime dressing was(and is) a unique, spicy, and flavorful salad dressing available here. Over the years, I have gone to Warhorse less and less. The mashed potatoes went way, way downhill, and the prices climbed dramatically. The Hot Garlic Gonzalez now costs in the $ 22 to $ 24 range. I still come here occasionally, but I have not had a really great meal here in a long time. We went back this weekend, because the Warhorse had extended their Denver Restaurant Week Special, and dropped the price by $ 10 a couple. So, for only $ 42.80 a couple, you got First Choice Soup Or Salad, Second Choice Of Entrees, Choice Of 2 Sides(Starch And Vegetable), and Fresh Home Made Dessert. The meal started well with me enjoying a nice Black Butte Porter to wash everything down. My house salad with cilantro-lime dressing was very flavorful. For the entrée, I went with Prime Braised Short Rib Topped W/Feta Cheese & Oyster Mushrooms. This was a bit of false advertising. This was not a true short rib, rather it was two beef back ribs that had been frenched(of this I am fairly sure). They had been braised for a very long time, and were very tender. So tender, it bordered on mushy. Also, the braising liquid(Stout?) completely overpowered the flavors, and you could not really taste the beef. I like Feta Cheese, but I have no idea why it was on this dish, and what it was supposed to bring to the party. This was not little crumbles, but pinky-sized chunks of Feta. The Oyster Mushrooms were quite good. The jus had swamped the plate, and the garnishes and sides were in danger of drowning. But, the overall presentation was an attention grabber. For my sides, I ordered the Yukon gold mashed potatoes and the broccoli/cauliflower. Instead, I received mashed potatoes and rice pilaf. The pilaf was bland and boring, the mashed potatoes were obviously homemade, but they still had an «instant» quality to them, that kept me from enjoying them. Perhaps they were over-whipped. This is par for the course when i order mashed at the Warhorse these days. The dessert, Danish Delight — A Danish Cinnamon Roll Topped W/Ice Cream & Fresh Sliced Bananas Gazed W/A Grand ‘Mere Cinnamon Cream Sauce was a delicious diabetic nightmare. The service was very good.

A group of us went on the last night of restaurant week — they lowered the altitude from $ 52.80 to $ 42.80. I have to say the sheer amount of food was impressive. A lower price and more food than the other restaurants visited this year was a definitely plus. I’ve lived in Parker since 1997 and used to visit the Warhorse all the time. Then as with anything prices started shooting up and the food seemed to be slipping so we just quit going and it’s been probably 10 years since I’ve been here. I think the quality has increased a bit since we were in but the prices are still up there for what you get. When I arrived there was a couple of groups in front of me. The host person left to seat them and was gone for a really long time. I saw my group in the bar area so I wandered over there for a bit and when I came back the host person was still not at the host stand. Waiting and waiting for someone to greet you just seems weird. The service was very good. Very timely and friendly. I started with a nice house salad with their lime vinaigrette — I love this dressing, as it is nice and light and fresh. I opted for the trout with all veggies on the side, still no carbs. It said on the menu that it came stuffed with blue crab but when it arrived it was a crab cake and it was on the side. The fish was cooked well but there was no seasoning. The crab cakes were just okay, not the best I’ve ever had but not the worst. The veg was steamed with no seasoning — asked for some slices of lemon and this instantly added a freshness to the dish. There seemed to be some disconnect in the kitchen. Others at the table didn’t get vegetables and received rice instead or in addition to. The plating was just weird and inconsistent. But I do have to say the plates were mounds of food and huge portions. Dessert was included but I didn’t taste it but it looked very yummy.

Some friends and I stopped in since our original dining location fell through. We were asked if we had reservations yet there was like 3 people in the place. They treated us like we didn’t belong so we ate at the«Tailgate» next door, which was bar food but it was expected. From the looks of it(other Unilocalers reviews), their horrible service saved us from food poisoning, rubber turkey, dry chicken, over cooked steak, a cheap owner, cobwebs on the ceiling fans, and an empty wallet. Thank you Warhorse for sucking at your industry!

Ok, so, I had a mission: Find a decent place to go out to dinner in Parker. On Friday, I was going to go out to dinner with a lovely lady friend of mine, and since we needed to stay around Parker, I had to find somewhere to eat. After suggestions from co-workers, I decided on the Warhorse. So the Warhorse has a cowbow-ish bar feel, and is located on Main Street in Parker. The food is typical bar type fare; a mixture of mexican, american and other goodies. The food is decent, and isn’t bad, but not great. They just have some good food, and the service was good as well. Overall, for what it is, it’s pretty good. Fun tip: look at the horse statue that’s above the door on the inside of the restaurant. It’s someone true to life from the underside, if you catch my drift…
