If you like places like Five Guys stop going there and start going to the Sandlot. It’s local and their prices are almost too low where I feel bad. Very high quality beef and well prepared fries. They are friendly, keep it simple and do everything perfectly right. I love burgers and if you enjoy thin, griddle crusted layered w cheese and special sauce burgers the Sandlot is the spot.

A hidden treasure in park ridge. The customer service is really great! The burgers are even better! The sandlot is a wonderful neighborhood find. Will definitely come back and try the Four-n-Four!

Place is really a hole in the wall. There’s a long wait and zero customer service. The burgers aren’t bad, but I really don’t think they are as fab as people think. Place has a really dirty/dingy atmosphere. Not attractive.

This is the place for burgers in Park Ridge. Tastiest burgers in town. Better than portillos or five guys. Fries are fresh cut, though those are not everyone’s taste, they are good, always hot! Milkshakes and malts are thick, too. I always find the staff friendly.

This is my idea of a great burger joint. A small little hole in the wall that does one thing and excels at it. There are no frills with their burgers. Beef, cheese, lettuce, tomato, and onion on a bun. You can add bacon or have the onions grilled if you feel like going high society. The fries were skin on and well salted. My only complaint is that they weren’t crispy, a little too limp. I will definitely make this a regular on my lunch break rotation.

Quite a delicious cheeseburger for $ 2.50! We ordered take out from here on a cold, rainy night and the combination of a cheeseburgers, fries, and a shared chocolate milkshake just hit the spot. The cheeseburger was delicious with just the right combination of toppings(no onions for me). And service is incredibly fast. We called in our order and were told the two cheeseburgers, fries, and shake would be ready in 7 minutes. We barely got there as our hot food came up, ready to go. We were thrilled — we thought it would take a while and we were starving. Since our initial visit, we’ve been back a couple more times and had the same great experience each time. We’ve never eaten in, but I can vouch for how great the food still tastes when you make it back home.

Fantastic customer service. Gas was out so grill and fryer were not working but the owner refused to close because he didn’t want to stand up his customers. He had hot dogs available and we ordered a couple, which he ended up serving us on the house. They were good and we hope to go back and try the burgers in the future!

The food is very good. Most employees seemed nice. But it was very«TASTELESS» of the way the female, young, blond manager, was running around upset, yelling at the other employees, then runs outside crying like a toddler. Owner(s) should find a manager to make it more pleasant environment to eat the tasty food in. NOTLIKE A PRE-school. What are the owners thinking? I’ll be going back to King.

yummy yummy yummy! it’s hard to beat a messy double cheeseburger and skin-on fries! haven’t tried the soft serve or the shakes yet, but from the looks of it, it is a very popular item! service at the counter was super friendly, even for first-timers like my motley group during lunch rush. the food is definitely not for heart patients(ha), those who can’t stand to get a little mess on their hands, or people who are always blotting the oil off their food(my lunch companion was doing this to their fries and yes I am passive-aggressively complaining about it here(ha))

A must go to before you die. I’ve always driven by this place and always wanted to go. Today my boyfriend and I went. We both ordered the two-for-two with fries and drinks the total was $ 16.50. We we go out it usually costs around $ 20. I must say it was amazing. They have some kind of secret sauce and the fries are nice, crispy and hand made. Very friendly customer service and they treat every costumer as an old friend. I would defiantly come back. They have my service!

Tiny little fast food joint for burgers. Had the two and two and it was good. Tasted a lot like five guys. The fries were hot and dark. The staff were very nice. The prices are very reasonable.

So, this review is about the restaurant, not the people that were there. There were two moms there with a total of five kids, none of which were older than 4… Running around all willy nilly… But I digress. I ordered a three n three with everything plus grilled onions, since I read the reviews here before coming here, fries and a drink. The fries were a little potato-y and cooked just right therefore, delicious; which is an adjective, unlike the word ‘mom’ which is a noun, ladies. The two women were talking about«mom jokes» and«mom things;» mom is not an adjective… Anyway… The burger was good, I definitely would have been fine with a two n two, but hey, you only live once. I should have gotten extra special sauce on the side, I don’t think there was enough on the burger. The one star off was because the burger had a bit of a metallic taste in the first bite or two, I can’t place what the cause was, but it was metallic. The bun was a normal burger joint bun, plain and fresh, the meat was a good mix, a little greasy, which means there was a little fat in it like there should be. And since we’re talking about adjectives, I swear, if I hear the word«super» used to describe something ever again, I’ll puke… Everything with these two, well, every word you could hear over the general chatter of these little kids running around, making noise, opening the door, etc., was super cute or super awesome… There are other descriptive words! Ugh… So, ultimately, I’m definitely going to come back when I’m in the area, the food was really good, and the service was great. Someone even came out to clean up after the super-annoying mom-group immediately after they left. Good food, good service, good place to go; especially after the minivans pulled out.

The Sandlot hits it out of the park… way, way, way out of the park. It’s going, going, gone… out of this world, I mean. You don’t know«out of this world» until you’ve gobbled down the complete experience of a burger(but not just any burger, I’m talking about that quad burger), those awesome hand-cut fries and a thick, creamy shake. Although they offer the classic strawberry, chocolate and vanilla shakes you MUST get the strawberry milkshake because it has real strawberries in it! Similar to the Dos Equis slogan, I don’t always drink a strawberry milkshake, but when I do I drink it from The Sandlot. I would say the same thing about the fries, but hell — I eat fries anywhere, anytime; despite my constant craving for fries these at The Sandlot were the epitome of perfection. They are hand-cut fries, much like Five Guys Burgers and Fries, but these were seared and salted to perfection and were overflowing from the basket they were in. At this point you’re probably saying«yeah, yeah — I don’t care about your fetish with fries and shake… I want to know about the burger, dammit» so here we go. What, you say, makes this burger special — more special than all these other fast food restaurants who seem to specialize in burgers — and worth all the craving? Well, hmm… let’s see — you don’t get a quadruple burger anywhere, duh!!! Of course you don’t have to order the quadruple burger, but if that’s what you do then don’t complain about the patty being too thin because you, and only you, hold the power to pudge that burger up. You can get a burger with one, two, three or four patties and of course the quad burger is monstrous, but worth all of the mess. Okay, so here’s the anatomy of the(best) burger: four patties, four slices of cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, grilled onions(which added a certain sweetness), mayo and some other special sauce. MMMMM, scrumptious! This is one of my favorite fast food burgers to date and with it being close to home, I’ll probably be back. You get to enjoy this perfect burger either on the inside of the restaurant(which is fairly small) or on the outside where they have plenty of tables for you to sit at(at least while it’s warm/semi-warm). Although there are not a ton of tables to sit at inside, there should be at least somewhere to sit because I don’t think it’s ever extremely packed, in part to its location which is somewhat of a nuisance to get into. It’s on the intersection of a street where drivers are constantly in a hurry and driving stupidly so be careful when pulling in to the restaurant. Once you’re inside the little burger joint, though, I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised by the cleanliness of the restaurant despite its somewhat dingy-looking exterior. It may not look like much from the outside, but believe me — it has a lot going on inside.

Love this place. The employees are friendly. The whole atmosphere is homey and clean. They make sure to clean up the place throughout the day. The burgers are great. Fries are awesome(serves at least 2 people). This place is also cheaply priced if you just buy one patty. I would recommend to buy at least a double if you tend to prefer a larger serving. Definitely a neighborhood joint. Support it!

Adhering to the principle of K.I.S.S.(the axiom, not the band), The Sandlot excels at what they do. It is a very, very basic burger joint, with some modest soft-serve ice cream offerings. Their fresh-cut fries are swell, but could stand to be cooked a little longer, especially if you are taking them to go. The fast-food-style burgers are really good; they like to push the«Two N Two» but I believe in the concept of «too much of a good thing» and one of those examples is two slices of cheese on a burger. So I get a «Two N One» which is just right for me. I was not impressed with the hot dog, which lacked the vital snap and was overwhelmed by the voluminous bun. When I say«basic» I mean that there are eight sandwiches on the menu, of which five are a variation of a hamburger! So stick to burgers. And fries. And ice cream, obviously.

I’m a fan of the local small business over chains and Sandlot did it all right. Great fries, great burger, great service… employing young motivated kids! This place rocked Had the 2 patty cheeseburger. Was well done with good meat and fresh vegetables. The quality was better than Five guys, minus about $ 5 in price out the door. Its has a small amount of seating maybe 20 people and a handful of outside tables. No Wifi just good eats

Quite often I use Touhy to travel quickly from the North side of Chicago to the NW burbs. I often pass this restaurant space. The previous business(which existed here) also operated a burger joint but for some odd, medical reason, they closed and this replaced it. Since then I’ve had few occasions to stop by and taste their fare. Typical burger joint and like some have expressed they have a thin patty system which is much like In & Out burger, but nary do I believe they taste the same. I’ve been in here for the weekday lunch rush, often opting for the Two n Two. At times it can be completely dead but they’ll have a full staff(a few) on hand. Orders get filled as ordered and the food is made to order. Fresh. Food tastes are however inconsistent. Maybe it’s a specific burger maker, but my last two burgers were grossly over salted. Dousing them in ketchup hadn’t helped either. For a quick and decent lunch, Sandlot could hit your spot. The inside is managed and often appears to be cleaned and maintained often.

Exceptionally good burger. Great quality patty and just the right size. Had a single cheeseburger which was perfectly cooked and served with their«special sauce». Also tried the fresh cut fries and were ok. For the record, I’m not a fan of «fresh cut» since they are either too hard and raw or soggy. These were on the ladder end. Place is fast and affordable. It’s a little intense on the greasy smell when you come in so I’ll likely come back and take it to go.

I had this place booked marked for a while. It’s a tiny little place with a simple menu(see pictures) and friendly people. I had the Quad cheeseburger and it was very good. Grilled onions are no additional charge. They use the skinny(thin) patties and do not toast the bun which I didn’t care for. Fresh cut fries were good but not great. I like them to be more crispy. The only complaint is the value is poor. My burger was $ 7. Read my review for Bills in Evanston where a quad cheese is around $ 4. I would go back if I was in the area and had a hankering for a burger but would not make a special trip like I did this time. IMO it’s better than all the chain burger joints.
