Great service, friendly and funny staff. Food portions are gigantic and delicious. Tons of variety. Best breakfast place in the area with good prices. Come here at least once a month with my family and love it each time.

If you like diner food this place cant be missed. If you count calories this place isn’t for you, the portions are insanely huge. I had the French toast with bacon and I feel like they gave me a lb of bacon. I surprisingly was able to finish and they asked if I wanted more. Everyone is really nice and the food is great. I recommend this place to everyone I know when they ask about a breakfast spot. The prices are great for the amount of food you get

As you know this place is known for their huge portions. What I liked most was that their prices are extremely reasonable considering how much food you are getting. I got the steak omelet and there was no way I could finish it. This is definitely a great place to go for the experience.

Again very few places get five stars from me, but man oohhh man this is a five star place with 10 star portions. Between two omelettes the size of my head and at least a pound of bacon and a stack of pancakes that even made my wife wince in disbelief I am absolutely amazed that it all only cost 40 $. Even though my mother in-law could only finish about half of her omelette and the wife couldnt even do that with her pancakes I on the other hand devoured my entire pastrami omelette and the wait staff seemed to be amazed by the fact that i did. The place was very new England style diner car, not very modern or clean looking(which I wouldn’t expect nor would I want it any other way) and the wait at the door seemed a little long because its not a very big roomy place but it is very very very much worth the wait and surprisingly the wait staff was all men. If you do plan on going to this amazing gem please come a bit early dont be like me and come at 11am and expect to get right in … Show up at 8 or 9 and pray to get a table but don’t do what I did and leave and go somewhere else because you will regret it … Just wait … It’s so worth it.

You can’t go wrong at this place. I get the steak tips with French toast or pancakes depending on the day. Everything is great and not for people on diets.

The smallest most crammed diner ever. The food is amazing! The portion sizes are plentiful and if you finish your plate, they offer to refill it for you. Carls has also been featured on the phantom gourmet. If you leave here hungry, it’s your own fault.

I’ve eaten once in the dinner itself and have also order over the phone. I must say that I was on the phone for at least 5 minutes and even then when I showed up to get the food, the order was wrong. I would suggest probably eating in the dinner but it can be very crowded at times because it is so small and so you don’t know if there’s going to be enough seats when going. They get you more to eat when you’ve finished eating if you’re still hungry without charging you more. Overall, it’s a great dinner but it can be expensive depending on what you get.

I was recommended to check this place out by my parents along with a multitude of other places. I decided to check out Carl’s. This is a very intimate diner. Had a very old school, neighborhood, everyone knows each other kind of vibe. It was very small. My friend and I got seats at the counter. You’re pretty much in the kitchen as the grille is right across and the chef who is an awesome guy is right there too. If you’re looking for something more quiet and private this is not the place. The food is amazing. Limited but wholesome menu. Portions are huge so expect leftovers or be prepared. I got the kielbasa omelette and it was great. Very authentic kielbasa so the taste was on point. My friend got the order of pancakes that came with bacon and home fries. Her portion came with about a half dozen pancakes and bacon strips. The price was insane for the portions. Definitely check this place out for a hearty, filling, DELICIOUS breakfast.

Bring your appetite !! Portions are huge! I ordered the french toast and you get 5 slices which I could not finish. My husband got the shaved steak omelet which he said«I didn’t know I was getting a cheese steak sub in my omelet — it didn’t even fit on the plate.

It’s small inside and hard to get a seat which is the reason for losing a star. I usually do take out. They give you tons and tons and tons of food, so bring your appetite. I almost wish I knew to order off the children’s menu because I never eat even half of my plate. Definitely a town favorite.

Love me some Carl’s. Food came out quickly, our waiter was hopping around like a jackrabbit keeping up with the crowd. Kept my coffee filled. My only complaint is they got rid of their hash. I guess it has been gone for years, but I was still disappointed, since it has been years since I had been there. Our food was great, the helpings were as big as I remember, and the service was fast and friendly. Definirely should try it out if you have never been

I woke up in my hotel room craving fried potatoes and even though they provide a very nice breakfast there were none today. That’s when I remembered the diner in downtown Oxford where I had previously enjoyed real home fried potatoes that had been potatoes earlier that day. I drove on down to Oxford and sure enough Carl’s diner is still there and the potatoes are still wonderful. The service is fast and this business is doing a great job of preserving an American tradition, the diner. If you are in Worcester County and you’re craving a real traditional American breakfast you definitely should go to Carls diner.

One of the best diners around massachusetts. Carl’s is yet again another massachusetts treasure. Carl’s has wonderful staff and the food is wonderful. I really like the eggs and bacon with toast. It’s simple but really great. I love sitting at the counter because it has that old diner feel with the swivel chairs and the board of specials. The ambiance is very casual. The people that go here are usually older people and families but it’s a great experience for every one. When you think of Oxford, Massachusetts your mind always skips right to Carl’s.

We wanted to try Carl’s Oxford Diner for quite a few years now since we have always heard good things about the place, but for some reason or other never have until today. We just happened to be en route to somewhere else in southern Worcester County and decided to stop in for lunch after finding that Billy’s Burg-O-Rama(also on Route 12 in Oxford) was closed for some unknown reason(strange). The diner is tiny: the front part has your standard counter setup with a few two-seater tables across from it(very tight space). There is also a small room behind the counter with a few booths. We chose to sit there. Carl’s menu consists mostly of breakfast fare(available all day), but since neither of us was in the mood for that sort of thing, we both chose to have the bacon cheeseburger. Well, that was an excellent choice. They serve a bacon burger the way it should be served, with plenty of bacon, not like most other establishments that consider a bacon cheeseburger to contain one small strip of bacon that has been cut in cut in half and stretched over the patty. OMG! Not here! My mouth gaped in amazement when we were served our burgers: two perfectly-cooked beef patties(had to be at least 1⁄3 pound each) with five, count them, FIVE large strips of perfectly crispy bacon strips(see photo submitted). Each was served with a small portion of their home fries, which were a little on the burnt side, but still tasty. At $ 5.85, this was the bargain of the century. Needless to say, we’ll return to Carl’s Oxford Diner again next time we’re in the neighborhood. We will have to sample some of their breakfast items, for sure. Or, perhaps, another bacon cheeseburger!
