I LOVE bringing my 5 year old son here! It’s such a perfect place to go for a few hours to just let him be creative. They have several different pieces, the bigger ones do tend to be on the pricey side but they have many smaller/cheaper options! The pieces take about 2 weeks before they’re ready for pickup. The first time we came here we made a piece to give my dad for his birthday, definitely a great idea to paint something for sentimental gifts. The second time we painted a piggy bank shaped like a monster truck and my son LOVES it! I recommend making a reservation before going.

I really enjoyed my experience here! There are a lot of options for pottery pieces and paints. They did a good job of pointing out all the different supplies and checking on us throughout the afternoon. I highly recommend making reservations, they were quite busy. It took us several hours, but other people were in and out in 45 minutes. It all depends on what you paint, and how detailed you want to be. It is a little pricey, but it’s a lovey way to spend an afternoon. I am super excited to pick up my mug in a couple weeks! Also. One poor kid threw up during our visit. The staff handled it very professionally and had it cleaned up ASAP. Another kid accidentally knocked a piece of pottery off a shelf, and the manager was very nice and understanding. I overheard the mom offering to pay, but the manager told her not to worry about it. They do cater to adults, and I saw several other couples there. But, it is also a popular place for kiddos with their parents. This is not a problem, just something to be aware of going in.

I really enjoyed Paint Glaze & Fire. You select your ceramic then sit down to paint. After you are done, they will fire your piece and you can pick it up within about a week. There is a painting fee plus you pay for whichever piece you select. What makes Paint Glaze & Fire different from other pottery painting places we’ve been to is that it is also a coffee house. These two activities go together surprisingly well and makes this an excellent spot to go for a date night. For us, this is a bit of an expensive date night, but we’ll definitely be back to do it again!

PRICEY! I am surprised no one else has commented on the cost. We even went on half priced studio night. A simple coffee mug was $ 23! Plates were upwards $ 50. For a $ 23 coffee mug, it better be filled with a lb of Starbucks coffee and chocolate. This is in addition to the studio fees and then they want tip(for what, I am not sure). Staff was fine. It’s a nice idea and they had lots of pieces to choose from but we won’t be going back as its totally cost prohibitive.

I had a nice time with some loved ones here. The ceramics selection was fairly wide, and the supplies to paint them were very plentiful even on a busy day. We didnt make an appointment, but there were enough tables for our group and the endless droves of adults and children who were holding their events. The friendly staff did a great job with all the issues that crop up when young painters at work.

We took a drive down to visit the«Ceramic Café», as this is also called, at Paint, Glaze, & Fire. It seemed a little overwhelming at first, but the staff was used to all kinds of questions and they were good about answering and then moving along so they were not in our way. Their directions were simple and easy to remember. The«art studio» feel encouraged you to get right in there and go at it; and, It smelled delicious with the coffee brewing in the background! I noticed there was WiFi, and other snack bar choices as well. It was an enjoyable experience with many wonderful items to choose from and make, including glass melting — ranging from small and inexpensive trinkets to intricate vases, cookie jars, and urns. My son is already deciding what he wants to pick on our next visit, and we plan to bring Grandma, too. I had as much fun making my own creation as my son.

My family was visiting Kansas City and Paint Glaze & Fire was the perfect activity… plenty of pieces and art supplies to choose from for our creations. They served up one of the tastiest espressos that i’ve had in the KC area. Plus the staff was friendly and helpful

We decided to give this place a try during our last visit to the KC area. We are so glad we did because we ABSOLUTELY loved this place! They have both pottery and glass fusion. I chose to do pottery and my husband chose to do glass fusion. In terms of pottery, they have SO many items to choose from. When I visited this place yesterday, they even had a section just for Christmas items. They also have many useful household items that you can decorate. I chose to do a spoon rest for my kitchen. The price was pretty reasonable at $ 22. There is also a studio fee of $ 8, but that fee is good for the whole day, which is nice. They have tons of colors to choose from for your pottery and the staff are really friendly and sweet. For glass fusion, they didn’t have as big of a selection in terms of pieces, but they do have tons of glass shards and beads to help you decorate your piece. This is the second time my husband has done glass fusion and we found the prices here pretty reasonable. My husband made a 12×5 inch piece for $ 35. The glass fusion does not include a studio fee, which was really nice. We also really appreciated that the staff took the time to show him how to cut glass pieces for his decorative piece. In addition to both the pottery and glass fusion, they also serve smoothies and coffee(both iced and hot), which is fantastic. I would highly recommend the iced mocha. If you check-in on Unilocal, you get a free drink(up to $ 4). We definitely took advantage of this deal, along with the military discount they offer. Finally, your glass and pottery are ready for pick-up 10 – 14 days later. In sum, a great way to spend a few hours. We will definitely be back.

Brought my son here to make something for his mom. We told the employee we had never done this before. She explained the process and left us to ourselves. It’s a small store that’s tucked in a little corner of a strip mall so it’s not the easiest to find. They serve various drinks and snacks which are about the same price as other coffee shops(so a little on the pricier side than I prefer). The concept is nice and kids and adults will probably enjoy it. My main complaint is that they weren’t all that helpful. Again, we had never done this before so telling us to pick an item and paints and have fun wasn’t exactly helpful. I had to ask where the paints were, which paintbrushes we could use, if there was a cup of water to use for brushes, etc. Some direction and hints would’ve been nice, that’s all. My son had fun once he got going. That’s what really counts.

Looking for something to do on a school holiday and I came cross Paint, Glaze and Fire. We made a reservation for 10:00; highly recommend that you make a reservation. The little studio/coffee café is small but very nice. The staff is friendly and once we had our table they explained the rules. Basically pick out your pottery and paint it anything you want. There are so many choices of colors, stencils, paint pens, stamps and brushes. We all picked out one item each. My little one had so much fun he went for a second art project. We had a blast painting and being creative. We will pick up our final art project in about a week after the shop kiln dries them, we cannot wait. Only down side is the location. I wish there was something up north like this. OP is not my cup of tea.

I got a Sweet Jack deal a LONG time ago and finally remembered it and used it. I’ve never done anything like this so I’m pretty sure I looked like a deer in headlights or a lost puppy. The place was a little hard to find as the lighted sign doesn’t have their name. Once inside, there were a few people painting and the staff was helping them. After about 10 min or so, we had someone come over, explain to pick out a piece and sit and someone would help us. We did just that and waited. After awhile, we had a lady come explain how it works and let us go. We had a blast painting and it was kinda weird using paint that you can’t really see what you are doing(ceramic paint). We got a hot chocolate(and even though they messed it up, it was still good). We took a little longer than expected(about an hour and 20 min) so we were pretty rushed at the end since they were closing. However, we flew and got our pieces done. It took a week and a day to get fired, but we went and picked them up and they looked awesome(after having to wait awhile for someone to help me as well). If it wasn’t a super awesome place, I’d be more harsh on the rating because of the staff and wait time, but… I still love it. I’ve already told a ton of people about it and am ready to go back… and will know what to do and expect next time.

Grab a cup of coffee and a piece of pottery and let the good times roll! Great little place to meet a friend for a few hours and let the creative juices out. If you’ve never done something like this make sure to plan to spend a few hours here. The helpful staff will guide you through everything you’ll need to know so you can transform a piece of plain pottery into something you’ll cherish for years. Luckily for me they also know just how to guide and inspire me to create something that doesn’t look like a 5 year old made it(no offense to 5 year olds!!) During my last visit a group of girls(aged about 9⁄10) arrived for a birthday party. The staff had set up a nice table and laid out the pottery that had been pre-selected, it all looked great and all the girls got the attention they needed. I was surprised to see they were doing a glass fusion craft, I’ll have to try that some time too! Also stopping by was a van full of seniors from a local senior citizen home. They all painted mugs and I was quite happy to see that from the young to the young-at-heart everyone was having a good time. Before long we were all up and wandering around looking at each others work and making new friends. Quite the social scene! A week or so later you’ll get a call to come and pick up your«fired and glazed» piece, all shiny and in its final form. The unveiling is really fun. Everything looks so pastel when you paint it and then once fired the colors turn out to be so vivid. Truly a lot of fun.

Three date nights, three projects and always a great time. My wife and I went on a Friday(ladies night) and other than one father/daughter date night couple, it was estrogen rich and a wonderful time as my wife and I painted a piggy bank for our daughters upcoming birthday. Create lasting memories as each time you use the item(we have soup bowls, fruit bowls and now a piggy bank) you have a wonderful memory too. Great staff that knows their stuff and can give you ideas to use. Plan a date or group activity there today and you will be glad you did. Great coffee to go along with your event.

This is a great place for an arts and crafts activity with family or friends. I recently went with a couple of friends. I painted a mug, Tracy painted a bowl, and Casey painted a dog dish. Every one of us will use the final products in our day to day lives. I’m looking forward to using my mug at work. Another great thing is that they have coffee and tea available so you can drink it while you work. Tips: You have to leave your mug there so it can be fired and glazed, so don’t expect to take home the finished product the day you go in. Also, get there at least 1 ½ hours before closing so you have plenty of time to pick out your piece, paint it, and enjoy a coffee drink.
