I’m sad to say that I don’t share the love that so many people have for this place. I went for lunch and had the lunch special that I have heard so much about. The day I was there it was the traditional grilled cheese sandwich that they are supposedly famous for. I was charge $ 3 for a small cup of tomato soup on the side in place of the side that was part of the lunch deal(cottage cheese, fruit up, and I can’t remember what the other options were). My lunch also included a piece of butter cake. My wait was quite extensive for this being a lunch time meal. About 20 – 25 minutes for a grilled cheese sandwich and cup of soup. They weren’t overly busy, so I couldn’t really understand it. When I got my food, my sandwich was thin and very small. The cheese(which there was not much of) was all in the very middle of my sandwich, leaving just dry pieces of bread on the outside. The entire crust of my sandwich was completely black and burnt so I had to peel it off, which reduced my sandwich in size by almost half. The tomato soup was lumpy. It had a very odd consistency– almost vomit like. The flavor was ok, but I couldn’t get past the texture, so I stopped after two spoonfuls. The dessert was a small square of gooey butter cake. It was about 3 bites worth. It was really cold as though it had just been taken from a refrigerator, and not gooey at all, but had good flavor. This is the only reason for the extra star in my review. A very underwhelming experience, and I don’t believe I’ll return.

No visit to a KC soccer tournament is complete without one of these amazing cinnamon rolls! My son loves applying the icing and they always have plenty of napkins.

Waited for almost 20 minutes for a chipotlé chicken panini, but was given an avocado chicken panini.(If it truly were a chipotlé chicken then I couldn’t feel the kick at all.) Only small bits of chicken can be found. I could get a much better combo meal from Panera Bread for 9 bucks.

Awesome place! Best soup and grilled cheese sandwiches with a great variety of the latter! Bakery items are varied and delicious! Prices are decent, too!

Tasty, healthy, responsive ownership! Wow! Triple Wow! My mom has to restrict her sodium and the owner of this emporium of delishness was so helpful in guiding her choices and did not act hurried at all. I was thrilled by his care taking ways with the folks. Man, oh, man… He knows what he is talking about and my grilled cheese/avocado sandwich was great. Believe it or not, though, the rave was the broccoli salad. Tiny chunks of raw broccoli with sunflower seeds and raisins, robed in a delectable homemade dressing. Best broccoli salad I have ever eaten! Kudos!

One quick note of caution, this review could drop to four stars if I was someone in a hurry and missed took this restaurant for«fast food». Thankfully, if you have a little bit of time, you will really enjoy these handmade creations. I have taken five different friends to this establishment knowing that they would love the sandwich selection, but I always make sure to direct their attention to the beer cheese soup. I say this is somebody who does not drink or really enjoy beer in and of itself. It so wonderfully transforms in the soup. The desserts are addictive. If you have the time to enjoy food that doesn’t taste frozen, preserved or manufactured sit back and enjoy.

I had the Kramer grilled cheese with a side of ruffles chips for my first time here. Grilled cheese was good, small but good. I felt for just under $ 8 for sandwich and small side of chips with no drink, it shouldn’t have been that expensive. At least throw in a drink for that price! My lunch companion got the salad and said it was good. I ordered a slice of red velvet cake &4 sugar cookies and the red velvet was so dense and heavy I could only eat 2 bites, I took the rest home to my husband and he said he didn’t like it either. Sugar cookies were just ok, nothing memorable to them. I would go back for the weekly lunch special if they had the Kramer as the special sandwich of the week. One sandwich a week is featured as the special and you get sandwich, side & dessert for $ 5.99 and I want to try the cinnamon rolls.

I ordered the weekly $ 5.99 lunch special(the Kramer grilled ham and cheese sandwich, a side, and a choice of dessert) at the counter. I upgraded the side to a cup of soup, and added a fountain drink for a total with tax of about $ 9.00. My order was delivered to my table in about ten minutes. The bread was delicious, and perfectly toasted. The small amount of ham was tasty, and there was plenty of cheese. The tomato soup was nicely seasoned. The dining area was clean, and no music was playing. The service was exceptional(very friendly and helpful).

Had the large cinnamon roll and it was very tasty. Was searching Unilocal for donuts but none here. But the cookies and cakes looked very yummy. Quick and easy stop for a treat!

Really great local restaurant, great for lunch break or after work snack. Their cinnamon rolls and cookies are to DIEFOR. I had the bacon grilled cheese with a side of chips and iced tea. The bacon grilled cheese tasted great, but was small for the price. Also, had the chocolate Avalanche cookie, which was AMAZING, but somewhat filling. The owners are very friendly and make everything from scratch, and is a great local restaurant. Definitely recommend.

This is a place that I really wanted to love… Local owners with a passion for what they do… I had the grilled chicken panini for lunch. It had a very good flavor, but it was not a lot of food for $ 8.50. It was a fairly small sandwich and the only thing it came with was a small cookie. For that reason, I would probably not order it again. I feel strongly that it should have come with a side for that price — it wouldn’t have been much cost to them and would have made me feel like I should go back. Hubby ordered the lunch special which even though the portion was no bigger, he did get a side and it cost less. I’m guessing that if I ever end up here again, that is probably what I would have to do. They do not have a very warm environment for dining in and could probably use some plants or personal touches, to make it feel more cozy and comfortable. All in all, I would say the flavor of the food was a 4, atmosphere was a 3 and value was a 2.

Four Stars really? Went on a Saturday at 11 am so not busy at all but after ordering a couple of egg sandwiches and a cinnamon roll it took a half hour to bring out the food and then it came in shifts. They forgot the roll and when the server went back to counter all she had to do was get it from display case and in in microwave! Sandwich while tasty certainly didn’t have much on it. The guy who seemed to be the owner was more interested in serving samples of some new pizzas he must have been developing to friends at two tables then making sure the kitchen was working. Disappointing for non regular customers.

My favorite cookies. Period. There is something so nostalgic about their soft iced shortbread sugar cookies. there isn’t a holiday that goes by that i don’t order them. soooo good. they decorated them per holiday theme, so are perfect for get together s. Also, so many grilled cheeses. Its a gourmet grilled cheese paradise. they can sometimes be on the small side, so if you’re a guy you may want to order two, or just cuz they’re that tasty :) Also the have awesome cinnamon roll with a tub of frosting should you need more!

So I went here on a humbug. I wanted to try their weekly special, the Robert’s Roast Beef Grilled Cheese. I was pleasantly pleased. The bread had a wonderful crispness, the sandwich wasn’t overpowered by either the meat or the cheese, just a wonderful blend. My mom had the heirloom tomatoes, a Cherokee purple, as her side and she said they were delicious. She also had a sample of their homemade horseradish and she couldn’t say enough about the flavor. I went for the beer cheese soup and I absolutely loved it. The owner, Robert, was generous to bring my mom and best friend a sample of the soup because after tasting it, they weren’t getting to taste mine. We also finished off with the gooey butter cake and it reminded me of everything that I enjoy about the STL gooey butter cake. Robert made sure that he came to our table several times to check on how we were enjoying our meal so that was well appreciated. It did take awhile for the food to come out but I appreciate meals prepared as ordered as opposed to sitting. We’ll definitely be back.

The family and I came here for breakfast this morning and I was quite surprised. The bakery doesn’t look like much from the outside and with it so close to a bar I didn’t know what to expect. We had the cinnamon roles and they were quite tasty. They are different that what I’m used to since they are served inside a paper shell and for good reason. I thought that I would just pick it up and eat it, but I was very wrong. At the bottom is what appears to be melted butter and cinnamon sugar which gives you this delicious gooey sauce so I highly recommend you eat with a fork. I’m giving this place 5 stars based entirely on the service and quality of the cinnamon roles. The establishment appears to be somewhat frugal since some of the chairs and pieces of other furniture are mismatched but I really respect that so it doesn’t bother me. I recommend that everyone give this place a try.

Good food at a decent price. The staff is friendly, though the food was a bit slow. It was a cute small space, but next time I will go on a warm day so I can sit outside. The grilled cheese sandwich I had was unique and delicious. Definitely worth visiting.

Best Regards Bakery and Café knows how to make a sandwich — 52 million to be exact. You read that right, they offer more than 52 million grilled sandwich options. I had two, and based on those — I’m looking forward to trying to try a few million more. The Portobello Mushroom Grilled Cheese($ 6.49) is a favorite of café regulars. Served on French Country bread with Swiss cheese, roast beef, Havarti cheese and caramelized portobello mushrooms, I can see(and taste) why this sandwich is so beloved. The Berkshire Bacon BLT was also recommended. Best Regards uses the highest quality, field-raised Berkshire bacon that contains a rich texture. It has less sodium than regular bacon but definitely has a stronger meaty flavor. The perfect sandwich side for colder temperatures is Best Regard’s tomato soup($ 2.50), made with roasted San Marzano tomato, fresh basil and cream. My grandma introduced me to turtle candy as a child and Best Regard’s pecan turtle definitely brings back sweet memories. Owners Robert and Cherrie Duensing run their business on a simple principle, «make them smile.» And this dessert certainly put a smile on my face. The decadent combination of dark chocolate, caramel and pecan was even better than I remembered. Everything that comes out of Best Regards Bakery and Café is made from scratch, using family-owned recipes and the best ingredients. That being said, you won’t find a better value for lunch. Each week, they run a new special featuring one of their speciality grilled cheese sandwiches, a side and cookie for $ 4.99. Now that’s something to smile about.

The location in the strip mall is pretty hidden and the door situation is ridiculous. I watched several people try numerous locked doors before finding the real entrance. I heard amazing things about the grilled cheese, but I just went in for the fresh baked bread. Unfortunately all the loaves that were described to me by the cashier were already sold out. :(Sounded yummy though. Instead of bread, I ordered to red velvet cupcakes(very small in size), a brownie(for BF) and a cinnamon roll(for mom). The cashier put the cinnamon roll in a container, but left the container open. He then handed me this huge squirt bottle of icing to do a DIY icing. I squirted a bunch on there and he closed the lid. I know a few people that would love to take that bottle home! There were lots of older women having lunch inside and outside. It seems that a lot of people know about this place and the fact that they are busy, is a good thing. I will post an update when I try the goodies.

Oh, how I adore cupcakes in all their diversity. It is my abundant joy to savor and experience them all. Some, light as a feather, while others may be rich, dense, frosted, or filled. Each one a pint-size package of pleasure. This little jewel, Best Regards Bakery, is hidden away, in a strip mall, just across the street from the Cheesecake Factory. I adamantly believe in supporting local entrepreneurs, like Robert and Cherrie. You just can’t mass produce the passion they put into each and every hand made bakery item. These cupcakes are moist and dense with a fine crumb. The texture is reminiscent of your grandmother’s pound cake. Their Raspberry Lemon cupcake has an intensely bright summer flavor that they get by adding real Lemoncello liqueur. Now, really, how could you not want to indulge yourself with this mouth watering delicacy? Being the cupcake freak that I am, I was more than shocked to find myself inexplicably drawn to a cookie. However, in my defense, it was not just any cookie, but a generous mound of tender, delicate pastry, delightfully studded with plump cranberries and a sprinkling of sugar crystals. These sizable cookies are fragrant with orange, and a heavenly cross between a cookie and a fresh baked scone. Not even your Irish grandmother could create a more delectable cookie! Do yourself a favor… don’t trust me! Look at the picture, then fill your cookie jar, and your tummy! Now… feel free to thank me.
