The Peanut in Overland Park never fails to satisfy. I’ve had several things there and they’re always good. I’m a fan of their burgers, and their wings are excellent(although they take some time to cook, they are worth the wait). The only questionable item I’ve had was their pork tenderloin. It was a little on the overcooked side, and was pretty greasy. Their chili is good on a cold day, and their onion rings are a great appetizer while you’re waiting for your wings to arrive. The staff is always friendly and helpful, and it’s usually very clean. The portion size for the price is good, and there are plenty of televisions to find something you’re interested in.

After reading the reviews we had to check it out and we were not disappointed! Walking in the ambiance was great, the décor was perfect. The service was unbelievable! Most friendly and helpful I have seen in a while. The drinks were mixed perfect and I never had to ask for a drink, they were always there ready to get me another drink. The food was great, huge wings, great BLT, and the pork tenderloin was huge and well cooked. I have to mention the staff again cause they were so friendly and helpful it definitely was a refreshing change to other places we’ve been. I will definitely go back.

My favorite bar in this area. The service is always amazing and the food comes out quick. The selection of food is great for a bar, and everything I have ever ordered never disappoints.

The Peanut is a standard dive, nothing more beyond that. They had mediocre HH specials that go until 6pm — $ 3 Boulevard beers(minus the Smokestack series), $ 43 Olives vodka, $ 3 wells. There weren’t a whole lot of interesting beers on tap for my hipster craft-y taste. No food on HH, but when we went they had select burgers for only $ 6. I have to say my medium burger was cooked rather well-done but for 6 bucks I don’t think I have the right to complain that much… I will give a shout-out to those monstrous wings, though. My friend described them as «the whole wing — shoulder and all.» This is an accurate description, folks! I happen to not be a wings kinda gal but I imagine if I were I’d be in wing heaven. I was hoping that with such a fun quirky name, The Peanut would’ve delivered a little more spunk but I found it fairly plain(aside from the wings). I hate to say it, but it has a chain-y feel to it, and there are so many other more unique places for HH in OP that I can’t see myself opting for the Peanut over any of those instead. I’d say come for the wings, if you’re into that, but you can easily find better places for other food and drink.

I’ve never eaten at a Peanut before, but had always heard good things about their wings(of course). Decided it was time — sat at the bar on a somewhat busy Thursday, and the service was great. The wings took about 15 – 20 minutes to come out, as the menu warns, and were huge. They’re the full wings, so half-dozen is really like a dozen… and a big dozen at that. It seems they come with one default sauce, which smells very spicy, but tastes only slightly spicy to me(as a spice lover). But they were meaty, juicy, flavorful… awesome. Would return without a doubt!

Love their atmosphere. Favorite sandwich is the California Chicken Sandwich. So tasty! Sweet potato fries are better than the regular fries. Wish there wasn’t an up-charge for regular fries and they would switch to Diet Coke.(A guy can dream can’t he!). Wings are incredible. But the craziest sandwich is the Single BLT Double Bacon with a Fried Egg. You haven’t lived until you’ve tried this. Great service and staff too. Oh, and a perfect place to watch my Tigers, Royals, and Chiefs games.

Fantastic wings. Get ‘Em naked and dip them in the all the sauces. They are so tasty just by themselves. They must come from some kind of freak-of-nature huge chicken. My teenage son and I shared a half dozen and we’re both full when done.

This location may be best known for its wings and BLTs, but it also offers daily lunch specials. I tried the Monday wrap special(buffalo chicken or chicken Caesar with chips) for $ 5.79, and a drink for $ 2.50. My order was delivered with a smile in about 13 minutes. The buffalo chicken wrap was packed with plenty of chicken, a tangy jalapeño ranch sauce, and other fresh ingredients. The homemade chips were crunchy, and very tasty, without being salty. The service was exemplary — cheerful, and attentive. The interior was nicely done, and clean, with several TVs, and background music.

Heard the wings were the best! Went to it and had the wings and they were okay. Kinda loud inside, but expected for a bar setting. Neat place would def go back however wings probably not my choice. Guess I’m more of a boneless chicken person!

After coming here a couple of times in the past and having bad experiences, I cringed when my friends wanted to meet here. However, since the three other people in our party seemed OK with it, I decided«beer/bar food is beer/bar food,» so I sucked it up and met them at The Peanut. One complaint is the noise; the place has high ceilings and is basically just one big cube, and it is usually busy, so I always have to talk louder than my natural voice to be heard. Next, I am always disappointed when servers don’t know the product. My seat was right by the door with my back to the bar, and when I got there, the server was immediately asking me what I wanted to drink. I asked what was on tap and received a response of about six beers, one of which she said was«Boulevard SANson Brett.» Of course that is what I wanted, and about five minutes later she came back to tell me they did not have«SANson Brett» after all. In the meantime, my friends told me she did not name nearly all the tap beers because there was a board over the bar with the complete list…probably a good 15 – 20 beers; thanks for naming six, server. While I understand she was young and had good intentions, really, Peanut, your staff should be better schooled on what you have and how to pronounce it. Nothing on the menu looked outstandingly delish, so I just ordered a turkey sandwich on rye with swiss and cream cheese. It was rather small and the side was house chips; this is a restaurant’s way to make you pay an extra $ 1.50-$ 2 to up it to fries. I stuck with the chips, and I ended up not eating most of them, as they were somewhat overdone. The combo was $ 9, by the way, and this was one of the inexpensive sandwiches. My friends ordered BLTs which were also just«meh”-looking. I thought the sandwich/chips for what it was was overpriced. The beer, though, was fairly priced. I did not leave feeling as if I had been stuck for going out in SoJoCo. The other thing that pleasantly surprised me was the crowd. I guess only on weekends is it sparkly jeans and v-neck t-shirts and the middle-aged crowd. This group was mainly 30s-60s with some families with well-behaved kids, and I rather enjoyed it. So, I will return to The Peanut, primarily for beer, and definitely during the week.

I have lived away from Kansas for over 4 years now and still have to say these are the best wings I have ever had. Every time I go back to KC I have to get my Peanut wings in. They BLT is also delicious.

When it comes to chicken wings I usually like choices… Boneless or traditional… Hot or sweet sauces… ranch or blue cheese. But sometimes when a place knows they have completely mastered a certain dish, there are no need for choices. The Peanut has mastered the chicken wing! First off they start with a full-sized traditional wing. In my opinion this should be the standard everywhere. Next step they use a magical marinade that adds loads of flavor. Then they fry these bad boys to a perfect crisp and finally give them a bath in their homemade hot sauce. Now the sauce is a key component in the pleasure of eating these wings. I like my sauces spicy and this one is a perfect medium hot with a little parmesan cheese and cracked pepper. This is truly a sauce that I could eat gallons of and never get tried of tasting it! Now pair these wings with a little blue cheese dressing and some great French fries and you have yourself one of the best meals around! The Peanut is all about those wings! My one request to the owners/managers of this location: You need a better craft beer selection! Yes you have every Boulevard available but in all honesty there are a bunch of great breweries in KS and MO that should get some tap space as well. Talk to your counterparts at the Santa Fe location, as they have great beers on tap. Cheers!

We had a great time here being very loud as a table of 6 colleagues and eating super hot wings and chili fries. GREAT TVs! It is what is advertised, embrace it.

can never get enough of their wings! Their BLT is amazing as well. This is our go to restaurant! For once, a place that pleases both of us! The peanut definitely deserves much credit!

I tend to rank service above food so giving the place 4 stars. I stopped in here on my day off recently right before the happy hour crowd so service was a breeze. This place has a nice neighborhood bar feel… Think Cheers like. I’d heard a lot about the wings but what I’ve discovered is wings are a lot like BBQ … Everyone has their own preferences. The wings were a good size but a little over cooked IMO so that meant they were a bit dry. They only come in one flavor, I tend to like mine hot but they were on the medium side in terms of heat scale. Still on the hunt for rock’n KC wings…

Great wings! Great BLT! Great Rueben! Tracy did a great job taking care of our table of nine even though it was a very busy night when we arrived. You need to know that it’s best not to be in a hurry when you go, but just relax and enjoy the food!

I visited The Peanut one Sunday evening for the music trivia bingo game. I enjoyed décor and found myself getting lost in the historic photos and various sporting/hunting items that were displayed in the restaurant. The store was nice and clean(including the restroom). My server Kelsi was very attentive, friendly, and helpful. I enjoyed an appetizer of Chili-cheese-fries. They were very nice and they were a huge portion. I almost got the large size, but I was warned against it by my sharp thinking waitress. I had a really good evening out with some friends and I think I will be back here again soon.
