I realize this is probably a predominantly carry out Chinese food restaurant, but we had a sitdown lunch and even though they didn’t look very busy service was extremely slow. When we finally got our soup, it was underseasoned. I ordered the egg foo yong, which isn’t your typical lunch fair, but it was featured prominently on the menu. 20 minutes later when it finally came to the table there were three large pieces that had been burnt to a crisp. Unfortunately we didn’t have time to stick around and reorder. But with so many other good choices, I probably won’t be going back here

Cheap food and it’s a family run restaurant. Simple. Fast. Friendly. I’m a supporter.

Been back to this place dozens of times since my update and haven’t really had a bad experience. I always order of the phone. The lady always says, «It’ll be ready in 10 – 15 minutes», my advise WAIT20MINUTESBEFORELEAVING. I’ve never had to wait for my food and its still always hot and fresh. The qualify of the food for this price bracket is exceptional.

We have ordered delivery a couple times. All with mixed reviews. Tonight was the worst ever. It took more than an hour to get here. Food was cold and most of the sauce was in the bag. Last time.

I decided to try somewhere new as I rushed back to my office from a meeting. I ordered the twice cooked pork lunch special with white rice and an egg roll, which was $ 5.70 with tax. At first, the food was surprisingly good. The pork was tasty, and the sauce was flavorful. My requested«extra spicy» lacked like every Chinese place, but it was a bit closer to actually being spicy than many Chinese places. However, once I got about halfway through, the overwhelming flavor of salt just took over. It became unbearable, and detracted from everything else. In the end, I had to stop because I felt as though I was chugging a glass of salt… not salt water, just salt. So I am mixed. I feel like this is slightly better than most strip mall Americanized Chinese places in JoCo, but it’s still not good. And I’ve never, ever, ever had that overwhelming salt taste like this.

The authentic items are not on the menu. Ask for beef noodle soup. Hand made noodles, probably the best you can get in KC

I have visited here twice this week. Joy Food(NOT to be mistaken as Joy Wok) = most americanized but still authentic chinese fix. Yes i am double stressing, this place is a strict no frills, to-go and pick up capital of my chinese needs in and around Overland park area. It reminds me of the cheap priced, healthy food, good portion size, and taste that triumphs = a boon for student life. Not a college student now, i still splurge in schezwan chicken and dumplings.

Don’t bother calling your order in ahead of time. I placed an order over the phone and was told it would take 15 mins, I arrived 20 mins after the phone call and I’m still waiting on my order in the restaurant after 30 mins later. I haven’t tasted the food yet but the service alone tells me I won’t be back.

Ordered here this evening and LOVED it! I decided to order something different than I normally order from Asian restaurants, and the Singapore Mei Fun is to die for!!! Great job!

I ordered delivery today, around 2:30 — 3:00pm so it wasn’t during a rush and I could still opt for the budget-friendly lunch special. It’s your typical«Americanized» Chinese food, but I have no complaints about it. Their fried rice is made my favorite way with bits of carrot, onion, egg and peas throughout a darker soy saucy rice. Yum! The sweet and sour chicken I ordered was warm and has plenty of veggies with it. I prefer a thicker sweet and sour sauce than what they have but it was still good. Now that I’ve praised… I did run into a couple problems. You’re given your choice of rice and side(rangoon, egg roll, soup, or soda) with the lunch special. I chose fried rice and a soda, and noted in the special instructions that I’d like a Pepsi or Coke. I didn’t receive a soda, despite a giant section in my styrofoam box being left empty to compensate for it, so I got a small portion of rice and chicken but no side. When I tried to contact the restaurant, I didn’t get an answer, so that was irritating. I also received my food a bit late because they went to the wrong place before finding me. If I’d gotten my soda and my food on time I would’ve given 5 stars.

I have always ordered Chinese food from here and this place delivers fresh, hot food. The food never disappoints. It’s one place that doesn’t charge you extra for delivery, if your order is a minimum of $ 15. Unlike most other places that deliver food home, they don’t have hidden delivery charges.
