While not my cup of tea, the food was decent. I enjoy my breakfast southern style — keep your fruit and crepes and give me hash browns with Ionians and peppers, smothered.

Consistently good and quality food. Their carrot cake pancake is to die for! So yummy. It’s kind of a small space and sometimes there is a wait. It’s very reasonably priced and has become a staple, go to restaurant for breakfast and lunch for our family. It’s all made to order so let them know if you want something added or removed. Great kids menu too.

Not terribly exciting place décor-wise, but a consistently good breakfast/brunch/lunch spot when you’re not into impressing out of town guests, like you would with the brunch at Tavern or Classic Cup, to name just 2 of KC’s many amazing brunch spots. First Watch has a nice focus on healthier things– whole grains, organic produce, etc. They use quality ingredients and aren’t afraid to try new things– ‘power’ juices with fruits and veggies, quinoa pancakes… There’s always something fun and new here. They have a special spring menu right now– try the Italian Benedict: thinly sliced prosciutto over scrambled eggs with a light Parmesan garlic sauce on ciabatta bread– so yummy! They don’t do espresso drinks but their house coffee is very good, and if you want to make it taste more like it’s from a coffeehouse they have lots of different flavored creams to try. I wish I’d gotten the name of the amazing waitress today– dark hair, small, 30ish– she was so sweet and attentive without being annoying, and offered to put coffee in a to-go cup. So nice!

Ordered over medium eggs received over hard. Did not receive toast or an english muffin with my breakfast. Potatoes were cold and bland. Wife ordered the Trifecta which comes with bacon 2 eggs and pancake of choice. Her eggs were ordered over easy they came over medium. She received a token amount of fruit compote with her pancake. She asked for some syrup and was charged $ 1.29 for it. Service was so so and coffee was way overpriced. We will not be back you can find us at Ginger Sue’s in Olathe. I might add not one person inquired about our satisfaction with our food and I was not in the mood to get into a discussion Good Bye First Watch Returned to this restaurant one week later. Staff made sure our food was cooked properly and service was very good without being overbearing.(I was concerned about this since they knew we had complained but service was great). Wife and I will certainly return to this restaurant. Thank you First Watch for hearing our concerns and taking action

I’ve eaten at First Watch many times though not recently. Sadly the menu change deleted my breakfast fav of Caps Etc. with a plateful of perfectly sauteed button mushrooms. So much for my mushroom addiction. I instead got the Eggs Benedict. Now let me preface this review stating it was very tasty and I understand poaching eggs correctly in a restaurant setting is difficult. That being said, I could have done as well with two hardboiled eggs and hollandaise dipping sauce. Since it was a Saturday morning and packed I wasn’t about to be a fussy jerk. As I said it tasted very good but I like my eggs to ooze. Maybe next time.

This was our first visit to a First Watch. I had fried eggs, potatoes, and bacon. An English muffin and cranberry juice completed the meal. The eggs were fried over easy as requested. B The bacon wasn’t as crisp as I prefer and overall the food wasn’t as hot as I expected. My wife had biscuits and turkey gravy. Good flavor. This was breakfast. And its hard to mess up a breakfast. Summary: good service, good food. Not spectacular or memorable, but a good choice for breakfast

This place is incredible, if you’re an octogenarian that cannot hold their salt. Honestly, this place is for old people. Boring food. I feel like I’m dying when I eat there. Seems flavorless too, but I think that’s the lack of salt and sugar. Trust though, this is no Bob Evans. Bob Evans is the center of the meal plan of those dearly departed souls, and in no small part hell. The next time I’ll eat in a Bob Evans, I’ll be celebrating my grandchilds grandchild. Never again, Bob. Release your icy dead hands from first watches menu. There may be time for first watch to recover from it, but I doubt it because only an old person goes to a breakfast joint. Everyone else sleeps till 11, and old people are awake At a quarter till 3:30. Dinner time at 11 for the old ones. Not attacking old people here, but breakfast joints are disappointing in no small part because of your taste buds — which are dead. Try first watch, if you have $ 62 to spare for some chopped up bland fruit, and some weird bacon. Instant eggs? Maybe. Can’t be sure. Pancakes aren’t bad. I don’t know. It’s worth trying. A lot of people like this place.

Excellent breakfast place! The Acapulco omelette was fantastic. The pumpkin pancake breakfast was very fluffy and the chicken apple sausage was delicious. The bacon eggs and hash was scrumptulious. The breakfast chimi was a nice twist. Little bit of a wait, but it was well worth it.

I am going 4 on this one! I save 5 stars for perfection and must eats! Great breakfast, staff is awesome! Love the Club sandwich with Turkey, bacon avocado! My tip is order full sandwich with soup because the half and soup is almost same price. This sandwich is BIG and tasty! All the breakfasts are very good.

Better to cook breakfast at home. The people are very nice but the food is so basic so not really worth it.

After a few breakfast fails on the drive to KC, from Seattle, it was refreshing to have a nice start to my first day here. This is a local chain apparently, and the food, portions and service were indicative of a well-oiled brunch machine. I ordered the Bubba’s Bennie which arrived piping hot, with fresh fluffy biscuits and two near perfect sunny-side up eggs, just the way I like it. The waitress was very personable and helpful. Hopefully this chain stays local and doesn’t sway from what’s made them successful and reputable, great food and exceptional service!

I’ve been a fan of First Watch for a long time. Their food is delicious and the staff are always friendly. They do get busy so get there early or be prepared to wait.

I have never had a bad experience here. The bacon onion hash is delicious I usually add on a piece of French toast! Fat girl problems. If I’m there for lunch I go with the BLTE with tomato basil soup YUM! Food and service all around GREAT!

The food is fresh and good, staff is friendly, and fast service. I like all of their dishes the healthy ones, French toast, bacon, eggs, omelets, sandwiches, cheeseburgers, salads. I can’t complain, something for everyone.

The eggs in this Benedict were well beyond poached. The waitress was quick to take notice and had the cook make a few more eggs that were poached correctly. Got a side of fruit instead of potatoes, and the bowl only had one bad piece of melon. Their OJ was fresh and tasty! Probably won’t come back as they didn’t pass the litmus test for a good breakfast IMO.

Primarily breakfast. I go for the Floridian French toast and rocket fuel Coffee. They are swamped on Sundays however, so get here before the church crowds.

Tasty breakfast, good service and nice deals. I usually avoid First Watch simply because I am not usually up on Sundays in time to beat the church crowd rush that equals extremely long waits. This weekend we were up bright and early and arrived at First Watch around 8am. Our timing was perfect, it was busy but not too busy. We got a comfy booth and our waitress was kind and attentive. I loved the Key West Crepeggs that I ordered(save the large amount of butter pre-added to my english muffin by the kitchen staff) and my husband liked his banana-waffle special. We were offered drinks for the road by the waitress(a nice perk) and our bill came out to a very low $ 11 due to having a free birthday entrée. Definitely sign up for their mailing list in order to score that deal around your birthday.

Even though the streets were covered in ice & snow, Shawn & I decided to have breakfast at First Watch. What a fantastic way, to start the day(even if it was almost noon! LOL) Our waitress, Karamie, was totally awesome! Our previous visit, the waiter we had was rather odd(«hey, my name is *can’t remember*, & it’s my birthday!» What??? LOL) Karamie was very attentive, & on the game! I always like to give daily specials a try … the Cinnabon pancake, with scrambled eggs & bacon, was the perfect antidote for a snowy morning. Coffee &OJ were spot on. A perfect breakfast. Now, if they could get a liquor license, & have Bloody Marys on tap, woah!!! :-)

This is a chain restaurant and I usually don’t frequent chain restaurants in Kansas City. After all, why would you when there are so many great locally-owned restaurants? Ahh, but I digress. This First Watch is pretty close to home, the breakfast items at the First Watch chain are fairly diverse and reasonably-priced, so they’re not a bad choice if they’re handy and you’re hungry. This particular restaurant has a nice area out back where you can eat outside which is a major plus. Today, the hubby and I stopped here for some breakfast while running some errands. We had a 2-for-1 coupon, so our tasty breakfast, served quickly by a friendly waitress while we dined outside was less than 15 bucks including a nice tip. What a steal!
