Good food. Fast service. Hash browns are actually cooked. Typical diner coffee. Place gets really loud.

Fish and chips where pretty greasy and had no flavor. Frys where also soggy. Chowder was not bad but seemed to be watery. Definitly needed to be thicker.

I’ve eaten here a half dozen times with coworkers for lunch and ate the fish&chips. What can go wrong with tossing some frozen fish and french fries in the deep fryer? So far; so good. Love the local country atmosphere and friendly staff. My coworker insisted I come for the Friday/Saturday night prime rib special. On a whim I convince my friend to join me for dinner. We both order the same menu item — 8 oz prime rib, mash potatoes & gravy, and salad. The mashed potatoes were instant and had an odd sour taste. The gravy(out of jar) was watered down and covered most of the plate. The prime rib was half globular fat and half meat. Salad out of the bag, tossed with sliced olives out of can and topped with prepackaged mexi shredded cheese. My friends Coor’s Light out of the bottle was over $ 4. I drank water. Bill with tip over $ 40. We both left over half of our plates full. Made it up to my friend and stopped by Fishtale for beer and appetizers. Seriously, do not go for this prime rib special. They offer baked potatoes after 5 pm. Wait for the baked potato and send back the fat blob prime rib. Skip the salad. Bring TUMS.

Almost $ 13 yes thirteen dollars for an egg mcmuffin and a weak cup of coffee. I will never go back here and I pass by many times a month.

Mrs. H and I were struck with a touch of the Irish flu and were in need of a greasy spoon. First we went to the Black Bear diner and there were people waiting all the way outside so we decided to try out the Shipwreck Café. I had been to this spot many many moons ago when it was The Place and had a good experience. It was in the later side of the morning and there were plenty of open seats. I had the chicken fried steak and eggs(delicious) and Mrs. H had the Hangtown Fry(she was most pleased). The waitress was great. She checked in on us a lot and kept the coffee flowing. The bathrooms are men and women’s single occupancys. I had a little intestinal distress(had to poop real bad) prier to the meal and marveled at the efficiency of the exhaust. The Tumwater Home Depot should take a lesson from the Shipwreck. During the clean up process I was interrupted by someone knocking. I hadn’t been in there more than a few minutes and didn’t like being hurried along. I started wishing the exhaust wasn’t so effective. All in all a rather grand time was had by all. To get five stars the breakfast would be served with a nice craft beer or Bloody Mary and I would need my bathroom time to be casual and stress free.

Always a stop when we are in Olympia! The corned beef and hash was so good with the sausage biscuits and gravy! The kids portions are just the right size and a great price!

There is no excuse for serving food this way. Nothing was fresh or prepared from scratch. Asked if the chowder was prepared there, out server said, «sort of, it’s packaged for us elsewhere.» Everything for lunch was breaded and fried. French fries had been frozen and the chicken strips were more breading than chicken. Mashed potatoes were definitely not made from scratch in the kitchen. We had to walk to the front to pay as our waitress never returned to our table after serving the food. Really a shame as there’s not much else nearby and in the summer, there are lots of tourists coming and going. This place could be a gold mine if only the food was at all appetizing. Is it so hard to make food that’s fresh and not frozen?

Cute little roadside mom n pop diner/café it is definetely a local fave. It was very busy. I’m giving 3.5 stars for shipwreck because of the long wait we had for our food. I had a basic breakfast and hubby had pan fried oyster breakfast. He liked it ok just wasnt something he was use to eating but wanted to try. The staff was friendly and apoligetic for the wait. I liked my breakfast an appreciate homestyle cooking. I would try them again for lunch or dinner.

Stopped in this morning for a quick bite. Was seated and served promptly by a very nice and efficient young lady who handled several tables with ease. I had the breakfast sandwich with a fruit bowl. The fruit was perfectly ripe. it was delicious. The scrambled egg in the sandwich was cooked to perfection the bacon was also cooked that way. The melted cheeses complimented the combo. The English muffin was toasted to a pleasant crispness. With the first bite I realized the great difference between a fast food breakfast and Shipwrecks. Fresh eggs beat the plastic bag of pasteurized egg product that fast food restaurants use. I enjoyed the coffee too. I’ll return as soon as I’m in that part of Olympia again.

The best food in the Olympia Lacey Area. Their soft omelets are the best in the whole area.

The waitress was right out of a film noir. The view from the windows was of a scotch broom covered berm. The food was heavy, greasy, and way more than I could eat. The fake wood paneling highlighted the display cases full of souvenirs. Decks of playing cards backed with nature scenes, figurines, and assorted kitsch predominated. If a vague memory of Twin Peaks is coming to mind, you’re not far from the mark. I could very easily imagine Dale Cooper at an adjacent table sucking down the high grade trucker sludge and a slice of rhubarb pie. Just outside, by the freeway ramp, somebody has erected a gigantic statue of a cow and her calf. The field adjacent was populated by Herefords. The road leading to was a lonely stretch alongside Mud Bay. The food is so-so, nothing to rave about. The best thing about the place is the ambiance. Tom Waits would be very much at home here

Fun, hole-in-the-wall diner. Nothing fancy, just solid breakfast food. I liked it. I’ll go back. :)

Great breakfast! I had just a breakfast sandwich and the muffin was was toasted perfect, bacon was cooked just right, eggand had some cheese on it, yum. I tasted my husbands French toast and it was fantastic! So glad we came out here to their new location. Oh, mimosas were fun too! Relaxed, casual atmosphere and our waitress checked on us often and provided excellent service.

This place was a nice little surprise on the way to the coast. Great service, reasonable prices and pretty decent food. My husband loved his cheese burger and my cod and chips were delicious, and it also came with tasty cole slaw and a cup of shrimp and tomato chowder. I also liked that they served lemon and honey with their tea. A nice touch.

This place is AWESOME! Some of the best homemade food around! And some of the greatest service!

The two stars is for the service! They have great service! The unfortunate thing is that NOTHING is homemade. For the prices that are charged, it should have some elements of love put into the ingredients. It is really not that hard to at least have a homemade biscuit… the staff is great! But if I wanted pre-fabbed I would eat at Dennys.

Mediocre. Uninspired. I don’t understand the glowing reviews. Biscuits not fresh, gravy tastes like it’s from a can. Oysters are from a local shellfish farm, but look oddly uniform and processed. They were pretty good, but too much breading for me. Hashbrowns were ok, shredded. Surely from a bag. Good service. My suggestion: order bacon, eggs, hashbrowns and toast. They won’t screw that up.

Best biscuits and gravy I’ve had in Olympia and some of the best service too. My husband’s coffee was never empty or cold. It has a down home diner feel and the server had the right amount of «saltiness». We will be back.

Wanted to try a new café after looking over the menu online everything looked great. Only thing good about our experience, is when we arrived we got seated within 5 minutes. The waitress asks my husband if he wants coffee and was about to walk off and I ask for a mimosa. For a second I thought maybe she was irritated. After taking our order…5 cups of coffee and an hour later the food arrives. She never once asked if I needed something else to drink. We had to flag her down for another drink. I had the eggs benedict and was probably the worst I have ever eaten. The english muffin was burnt and hard. The hash browns weren’t even cooked all the way. Sounded like a party was happening in the back kitchen and someone yelling out wait I’m trying to finish my Mimosa first. Needless to say we won’t be going back.
