Gardner’s Seafood & Pasta

This is a great restaurant. The only problem is consistency. Twice I had a great dinner and once it was a total flop. The menu is very good and the service is great. I wish the kitchen would be more constant. Overall, it is a great restaurant for Olympia.

I am local to Olympia and took a client from out of town here for dinner in December. It is across the street from the Doubletree hotel. Since it is dark at night I figured I would rather have good food than a waterfront view.
Drinks and dinner were all excellent. Service was almost perfect. We did change tables to get out of a situation in the middle of the room. We ended up in a nook that was very pleasant to talk, sit, and visit.
I had pan fried oysters – a one night special. Small in size, obviously fresh, and perfectly cooked. My guest had the seafood trio. She liked it too. Of course we picked dessert off the dessert tray and had WA wines from the extensive selection by the glass.
An enjoyable evening with good service, good food, and good company.
RESERVATION HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

A co-​worked and I are from out of town. We found Gardner’s and I have to say was a wonderful experience. The staff and one of the owners very friendly and conversation able. Food extremely wonderful, the desert (peanut butter pie) amazing. I would recommend to anyone to eat there and if time allows while I am here I will definitely be eating there again or if I ever make it out this way again will be a place I will go for great food.

Great date spot or if you’re looking for a quiet place fir dinner. The staff is so personal with their customers which is nice seeing it’s a smaller restaurant. Reservations are a must. Our favorites are the stuffed mushrooms, chicken pepperoncini, and any desert (seriously just pick one, you will not be disappointed).

A friend and I went here for a girl’s night out, and had a great time! Wine list had great options, the food we ordered was timed well and was very good! It’s a very romantic environment as well, for anyone who is interested in taking a date here.

We have gone to Gardner’s a few times over the years and we have always had a great time with amazing food. Last night was no exception. Hubby made reservations for my birthday and we had a wonderful time. He had the salmon and I had the seafood trio. The PNW chowder was delicious start to our meal. Tiffany took care of us and even added a candle in our dessert! We always say we’ll be back with more people, but we’ve been hoarding it as our date spot!

Excellent service with a ever changing and seasonal menu. The scallops were excellent and the desserts are divine. It’s a simple and delicious menu.

Recommend reservations small place with amazing food. Great service and drinks. Can not beat it anywhere.

Awesome food and service. Don’t judge the place from the outside. Looks like a 6 on the outside but a 10 on the inside. Make sure you make reservations. Will definitely eat there again.

If I could give a 4.5 I would! The entrees are absolutely divine! The service is wonderful as well, everyone is so friendly and attentive. The only reason I’m not giving a full 5 stars is because the sides weren’t my favorite, I ordered garlic mashed potatoes and both visits I was a little disappointed but I’m also a mashed potato snob according to my bf ;). The first time I went there I got the prawn sauté which was bomb, I wanted to switch it up so tonight I ordered the seafood trio and it was even better! The appetizer of calamari is amazing as well! All the desserts are homemade and to die for– I highly recommend this place overall!

We are from out of town and were looking for a place to eat. Tonight we had the pleasure of eating at Gardner’s. It is small but comfortable. I had the Chicken Parmesan and my husband had the Seafood Fettuccine. Both meals were delicious and very large in size. They have a great wine list and many by the glass. The dessert tray was beautiful but we didn’t save room. The service was excellent. This little restaurant is a real find can’t wait to come back when we are in the vicinity.

Small and lovely intimate space. We went in for a family dinner after reading impressive reviews. It was everything we expected and more. Excellent service right from the moment we walked in. The food came in generous portions and left nothing to be desired. Also, don’t forget to save room for the multitude of house made desserts that you’ll see on the dessert tray. The food is a little pricey, but well worth it. Overall, Gardner’s was a wonderful stop that I would love to come back to.

A true gem and favorite in the heart of downtown Olympia. I don’t have the pleasure of coming to Gardner’s very often but when I do it’s usually for an intimate dinner or celebration. I love this place because it is completely unpretentious and just honest to goodness fresh seafood and homemade pasta. You can really taste the love in their cooking and it creates for a really special experience.
i also love how the prices are definitely on the higher end, but for a beautiful meal, you do get quite a lot included — homemade bread, a delicious side salad with blue cheese crumbles and a side of your choice. What I like to do is order a seafood entrée like the luscious scallop sauté and order a side of decadent homemade fettuccine Alfredo. It’s divine!
Also don’t forget to order one of their show-​stopping homemade desserts off the tray they bring by your table — no matter how full you are, it’s worth it!

Absolutely one of the best restaurants in Oly town! Cannot wait to go back! All food was delish! Service was exceptional atmosphere was devine.

My husband and I had dinner. The service was impeccable the food deplorable !!! I can’t think of enough words to describe how terrible the food was. Strawberries on top of what seemed like frozen salmon however if it wasn’t frozen it was cooked hard as a brick. Parsnips as a side ?? Yuk. And Alfredo sauce loaded with nutmeg. Gross. The chef would do better to buy prepared foods at costco and warm them up.

Consistent quality and perfect (really) service define this Olympia delight! Great for a special occasion or just for a relaxing dinner with your favorite friend. Entrees are amazing – we love the chicken picatta and their fresh fish specials. Best dessert tray around – all lovingly house made. We miss the former owner’s welcome (Jane always remembered us and our kids), but her daughters are doing a fine job of keeping the traditional focus on customers and amazing food. Reservations are a must – call early, the small dining room fills fast.

My wife and I walked in on a busy night and they accommodated us at a counter area, thought it was a bit interesting for dinner. I had one of the best experiences of my 2 week vacation.
The service was awesome and personal. I really appreciate that. But the best thing was the food of course.
Had the special appetizer of razor clams which were good, but the Salmon with the strawberry buerre blanc sauce was killer. Apparently this is a standard here, but wow I’ve never had such a thing. It was awesome…
I would love to go back, we are glad we stumbled upon Gardner’s!
