I have been a patient of Dr. Bradford since I was about 13 years of age. Back then he was located inside the Carlsbad mall and I can still remember my first appointment, mostly because I was overwhelmed by the idea of having to pay for my own glasses since my family couldn’t afford to get them for me. Despite me being a broke 13 year old, Dr. Bradford and his staff made me feel like my business was important and I eventually worked out a payment plan with them in order to buy my first pair of glasses. Now at 26, I could not imagine going anywhere else even if he is not the cheapest option around. It’s his kindness and genuine spirit (and very friendly staff) that keeps me coming back year after year. I have never had a bad experience with Dr. Bradford or his team. They have always been a pleasure to do business with. I would highly recommend Dr. Bradford to anyone who values quality over quantity…

Dr Bradford and his Staff are very Professional and have a sense of a fun spirit. They were knowledebale and very friendly. Thank you for making me feel comfortable and explaining the process and showing me cool pictures of my eyeball. I recommend The good Doctor to anyone.

I always have a great experience, I’ve been going to Dr. Bradford for years. Easy, in and out, and everyone is friendly. Would definitely recommend.

Dr. Bradford does a great job getting the prescription just right and making sure your glasses are a great fit! He is very patient and kind. I highly recommend him! I like his staff also. The ladies who answer the phones and do the paperwork are very down-​to-​earth and friendly.

This practice is beyond HORRIBLE! I felt like the doctor wasn’t very personable and was down right condescending. I went in for an eye exam in September and wound up waiting 35 minutes before being seen despite showing up early. I left with a new contact prescription than what I’d worn before, mind you, I’ve been wearing contacts for about 8 years now and never once has anyone said anything to me about an astigmatism. I leave with my new contacts and was told I would have to make a follow up appointment for the doctor to go over my new contact prescription with me to make sure the new contacts worked well for me. I scheduled my follow up and had to call to cancel since my husbands homecoming date got moved up at last minute. A few days later, my son dumped the trial contacts the doctor had given me.
Out of sight, out of mind since I now had no contacts. Fast forward 5 months and It’s spring time and I want to get back into some contacts. I call back to reschedule an appointment for my follow up to have the contacts checked so I can get my contacts checked and finally get my new prescription. I had one lady on the phone tell me that it was their policy for any follow up not completed within 6 months has to PAY FOR A NEW EXAM. I inform the woman on the phone that it has only been 5 months so that shouldn’t be an issue. Then another woman comes on the phone and says that their policy is ACTUALLY WITHIN 3 MONTHS! Funny how their «policy» changes just because their first policy would have given me my contact check up for free but then their policy suddenly «CHANGED» to Three months and I’d have to be charged $ 95
THIS IS HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! Now I’m out a contact prescription which I never received in the first place and I have to go find a better ophthalmologist that actually CARES about their patients!
STEER CLEAR OF THIS PLACE! Take all of the bad Unilocal reviews as a sign.

Made an 11:00 appointment and after 45 minutes, got up and walked out. At no point did anyone come in and acknowledge they were behind. Plenty of other places to try next time.

Dr. Bradford is amazing! The entire staff is amazing!!! Wow!!! Today was my first visit, and I had no idea what to expect. I have humana insurance from my employer and I thought I was going to be upsold or something. Dr. Bradford was awesome, he did an eye exam and retinal imaging, they even promised to email me pictures of my eyes. This team is flawless and I strongly recommend them! Oh ya, I was in and out of there in less than an hour and scheduled a same day appt 20 minutes before getting there.

Very dissatisfied with service and product (i would use my feelings on the matter but i’m sure the review would get flagged for bad language).
I wanted to get a pair of Oakley sunglasses frames with a clear prescription lens. I had a particular frame in mind and mentioned this SEVERAL TIMES to no less than 3 employees (initial phone contact, the Optometrist AND the person in store {and YES they were all different people}). They took my order initially over the phone and i supplied my prescription info. All good right… nope… The next day they called back to say Oakley have discontinued the frames… choose another frame WHICH WAS CHEAPER than the original and they promised to refund my card the differnence. the next day i get another call saying the oakley can’t make clear lenses in the frames because of my prescription (despite the FACT that i have been wearing swept frames with clear lenses FROM OAKLEY for the last 20 effing years! but surprise surprise i CAN get a lens that THEY can make and it will be chaeper (their words not mine). All good right? Frames i want lenses and cheaper than originally quoted… the SAME day i get ANOTHER call saying they have to put a particualr lens in now that is TWICE as expensive as the oakley lenses… Only when i said «enough is enough, refund my card and i’ll go elsewhere they were suddenly able to do the glasses at the original price…
result: Oakley frames at MSRP price, sub standard lenses at twice the price of oakley optics… NEVER AGAIN.

My wife and I just had a checkup. Dr Bradford was awesome! Very patient and funny. The staff was great helping my wife pick out new frames too. I’m very happy we looked on Unilocal and went here based on others recommendation!

When I called to make my appointment the person who answered the phone was extremely difficult to understand and kept asking me to repeat myself over and over again. I really should have stopped there. I had my exam and was fitted for contacts. I tried those for a week and could not see to read or use my computer and everything was blurry far away. Forget driving at night. That was just downright dangerous. I made an appointment to resolve the issue. As I was sitting in my car in the parking lot getting ready to go in to my appointment, I received a phone call from one of the gals at the office asking me if I was going to make my appointment. It was a few minutes BEFORE my appointment time. I can understand it if I was late, but I wasn’t late. I was re-​examed just to have the same thing happen again. I made another appointment and the doctor then ordered a pair of contacts for me that he said would solve these issues. They arrived a couple of weeks later and I was told that they were $ 575 and would last a year. I was then also advised that the exam would cost quite a bit more at $ 275 by picking these more expensive contacts even though I already had an exam for the others and I would not be being re-​examed. Huh??? When I went to pick them up I was informed that they only lasted 6 months and not a year. When I asked about this I was told that she made a mistake and she was sorry. At this point I did not have the confidence that they would even work. They offerred to reduce the price of the contacts and exam to $ 630, but I decided not to move forward with buying anything from this business. They still charged me for the contact exam even though these issues were never resolved and I would never be able to use this prescription.

I have been a Vision Works customer for over 6 years and the overall experience with Dr. George Bradford’s has been excellent.
Dr. Bradford has fitted me for different glasses and contacts. He listens attentively and has worked with me to provide the best solutions to my eye wear. I have been wearing contacts for several years now. Dr. Bradford let me try different contacts (for free) and he suggested trying one contact for distance and one for closeup. This works great. I can see perfectly without every needing glasses and the daily wear contacts make it so easy.
The front office staff could sometimes use some organizational coaching, but Dr Bradford provides great overall service.

Dr. Bradford is very thorough and his staff is very friendly.
