Excellent doctor and the wonderful ladies are super sweet and helpful! Found this beautiful pair of Dolce sunglasses.

Very very nice man but can’t work his computer for the life of him ended up there for 2.5 hrs. That’s great if you’re retired but for those of us racing through the day… it was like torture. Then he reduced my prescription couldn’t see a thing had to have him change it. Sorry I work 12.5hr days I don’t have time for this.

Love Dr. Stemley! He is a great doctor and is always so professional and nice. His examinations are always efficient and he’s full of great information. I have been going to him for years and get both my glasses and contacts through him. His staff is also very sweet and helpful. I had a sty in my eye a couple months ago and he was able to help me right away with getting it taken care of.
Also, he’s expanding his office. I cant wait to see what his new office is going to look like after remodeling!
If you’re on the market for a new eye guy, he should be on the top of your list.

Dr Dave is the most amazing optometrist … and gentleman … I have ever met. He has been my Eye Guy since I was 13 years old, and even when I moved 5.5 hours away, I drove down to Carlsbad for my contact and glasses care. My husband is a patient, too, and all 4 of my children visit the office when needed. The gals up front are simply awesome. They have watched me grow up … and there’s not much they forget. I am not an easy patient when it comes to glasses fittings, yet they don’t bat an eye at tackling my trouble spots.
I cannot speak highly enough about the entire staff.
I am one patient they will never, ever be able to get rid of.

Just love them all here! The associates in the front office are just adorable! We had such a warm and pleasant experience! A few and I mean a few hundred dollars later we are styling with some new specs!

I haven’t seen the optometrist yet — I will update this review after my appointment in a couple weeks. But I had an emergency today — my contact is really old and it was starting to irritate my eye so badly I couldn’t concentrate (and my glasses are an older prescription)…I called in, and while they didn’t have any earlier appointments, Stacey at the front desk went above and beyond to help me. I faxed them my prescription and she was able to find my lenses (I have a very high prescription and astigmatisms in both eyes, it’s very rare that my contact lenses are in stock at optometrists’ offices) and promptly gave me a call back to let me know I can pick them up today. This was really stressing me out and they really helped me out and were so proactive.

If you need an Optometrist — Dr Stemley is the best. You will not find a more thorough, professional and personable Doctor. Fantastic staff as well.

Dr. Dave is great! He genuinely cares about his patients. You are a name with Dr. Stemley, not a number. I have lived in the area for over 20 years and this is the first time that I have found an eye Dr. that I have gone back to year after year. Thanks Dr. Stemley!

I was referred to Dr. Stemley by an old boss of mine. He is definitely as good as it gets! He addresses each and every one of your concerns and never makes you feel rushed. He will stay with you for as long as you need to get everything covered that you came in for. His office staff is also great! They are very flexible with payments too. I was able to pay some of my bill that same day and then pay the rest of it after I got paid.
When I changed jobs and was no longer covered to go to him for my eye care needs, his office got me updated lenses at the discounted price as if I still had the insurance! Saved me tons of money, how awesome is that? I don’t know any other office that would do that for you. They truly take care of their customers and it keeps me coming back. Win-​win for both!

I have been going to a different optometrist for years. Dr Stemley was recommended to me by a friend who said he was great. I am happy I tried him out because I now have to agree. He was professional and funny, helped diagnose my current eye needs, and helped me with my contacts. I plan on heading back in a few weeks to pick up some glasses and look forward to looking through their killer frame selection. If you are anywhere near Carlsbad, please go to Dr. Dave, he’s a great guy.

Called early in the morning about an appointment that day and they managed to schedule me the same day in the afternoon!
Staff is very friendly and Dr. Stemley is great. It is a small office, but I would recommend it to anyone. Great place and people.

I called for my mom who doesn’t have insurance and had a possible eye infection, they were able to see her right away even though the Dr. was done for the day. The staff is very nice and accommodating, and so is the Dr. I would recommend this office to anyone who is looking for an eye doctor.

Dr. Dave and his wonderful staff are, in a word, outstanding. Yeah, they are professional, and yeah, they know what they’re doing, and yeah, they go out of their way to get the job done right. But this practice is so much more than that. These folks genuinely care about their patients. They KNOW their patients. You’ll never find a better, more helpful staff than Dr. Dave and Stacey, Elaine and Susan. I have been to other eye docs in the past, but once I found Dr Dave’s practice, my search was over.
You will not be disappointed by this practice. Absolutely top-​notch and highly recommended.

Wonderfully geeky enthusiastic about his profession. He helped me get out of glasses and into contacts, which no one else has been able to do. He’s up on all the latest developments in the profesion– he’s the best I’ve ever come across. I’m even wearing bifocals and can read every little detail on my Iphone! Excellent front office staff as well.

This office is the best. No offense to Dr. Stemley, but it is all about the ladies in the front office. They are so nice, knowledgeable, direct and there always seems to be an undertone of sassiness that I love. I drive an hour to keep going there.

Dr. Stemley has been my mom’s and my optometrist for as long as I can remember, easily for over 15 years. And even though I’ve lived thousands of miles away at different times in my life, I’ve always returned to his office for my eye exams. He is truely a gem of a doctor. Very personable and funny. I have always felt that he really cares for his patients and done his best to get them the right precriptions, glasses, and/​or contacts. Likewise, all the ladies who work in his off have always been super nice and professional. I think it’s been like two years since I’ve had an eye appointment (I’ve stopped wearing my contacts because they are getting too old), which is probably why I’m writing this review right now, feeling guilty for not taking care of my eyeballs, but not sure when i will be in the area and have time for Dr. Stemley to take a look.
