GO ELSEWHERE. The people working here are absolute terrible human beings. Because this place is located in chinatown, many old seniors come here because this is the only one offered in chinatown. The workers here always make the seniors feel bad, they think way too highly of themselves. You can tell that they like to make the seniors feel uncomfortable. I asked a simple question as my grandmother was still inside getting her blood drawn, «How many blood tubes is she getting drawn out?» The lady said, «She had a difficult draw, just wait.» I repeated my question again because her answer was irrelevant, however she still gave me the same answer… I repeated my question again, and she said «I don’t know? I’m not the person who was drawing her blood out?» with so much sass and attitude in her voice.
Uhm… excuse me. Why couldn’t you ask?!
Again, don’t come here.

Today my dad have to get the blood test. We come here about 9.30 am. It was very busy. Full house. It ok we always can wait. I went out to got something done. I come back about 45 min. I saw my dad still waiting. I try to asked the front dest. She said not yet. Then half hour past. I went asked her again. She said she can’t check. Also I told me that red clothes women are longer waiting then me. But don’t say anything. The way she tell me is very rude. That means I should sit and don’t answer anything!!! I will thing very poor service. You only can survive in Chinatown.

You really should get an appointment here, or else you’ll be waiting for a LONG time. Also, they don’t seem very skilled in drawing your blood. Had a rather painful, difficult time getting a blood test here (and never had any problems in the dozens of times getting blood drawn before elsewhere).

This place is located in Chinatown. I came in on a weekday afternoon at 4pm. The no-​appointment line had about 6 people waiting. Luckily since I made an appointment, I was attended to immediately and was done in 15 minutes. The blood draw was alright, not much pain unlike some other quest locations. So be sure to make an appointment online first before coming here! I was able to make an appointment for the day itself with plenty of slots to choose from. There’s parking at the basement of this building.

This used to be a great lab. In and out quickly without hassle. Now they’re in a competition for nastiest attitude. I arrived a few minutes late to my appointment and they were rude and surly from beginning to end.
There’s plenty of labs out there. Skip this one.

I would not think I would give any blood lab a 5 star rating but I am a big fan of Quest, especially their office in Oakland’s Chinatown. It’s an office that is perpetually crowded and with long lines. Sounds good so far? BUT, if you take a moment to go online and schedule an appointment and show up on time, you will be promptly seen when scheduled. It’s like a miracle. They have two lines, one with appointments and the other without. It makes a very BIG difference. Without an appointment, depending on the time of day, you could easily wait an hour or more. Their phlebotomists are friendly and experienced (I was shocked to learn today that phlebotomy school school is all of two weeks) Here is a link to scheduling an appointment.

Every time I have come here. The line is out the door. I thought I would be smart and try and set up an appointment. when I got here they told me I didn’t have one and that I needed to wait in line. If you don’t mind dog schit service than this place will be for you.

Quest Diagnostics has moved across over to the other side by the doc’s offices. less seating, more medical «rooms». evident by the line out the door and little movement that there was a staff shortage and/​or cutbacks.
decided not to wait in line (probably an hour’s wait). got a form with a phone # for reservations (888– ?, will post when i find it again) got computerized recording. difficult to make appointment, no live person. i keep repeating appointment time i wanted and finally got confirmation code.
arrive before 3, out by 3:10 for a blood test. receptionist was curt but looked familiar (likewise, i’m sure).
3.5 stars since i could make lemonade out of a lemon situation. line for appointments go to left clearly stated on signpost.
staff, one receptionist and one medical staffer, in diffiuclt situation. i would get grumpy too. can understand the no answers situation. receptionist has to go to back to translate… since med. staffer no habla chinois.

If I could give this place a negative star I would. I’ve never met such a rude group of people. The two girls (asian & Hispanic) in the front downgrading their customers in front of other patrons. It was very insulting that they would say it’s their taxes that pays for the patients tests. Not only that but it’s their taxes that pay for their own paycheck. They need to realize if it wasn’t for their patients they wouldn’t have a job. If they were unhappy serving this type of community feel free to work elsewhere. I can’t believe management is tolerating this type of behavior! An absolute embarrassment to the establishment that serves this community.

Worst service ever! The Asian lady that work at the front should not be working there with the attitude she have! She is so rude! Don’t even bother asking her any questions, she will not reply. Don’t ask her to repeat what she just said, she will give u a attitude and yell at you for not listening or understanding her the first time. She act like she is better than everyone there.
This place is located at Chinatown. There is a lot of elderly Chinese people that go there for blood work and of course they might have to ask to repeat directions once or twice. She would yell at them for making her repeat. My mom and a few other patients was saying how could she work here and treat ppl like they esp elderly.
I also notice she is so polite and nice to non Asian patients. Telling them to sign in, do they have appt, have a seat and we will call you shortly.(with a huge smile) Then when it’s Asian, she just throw the sign in board at you-​and walk away. I guess maybe she know that non Asian will report her if she give them bad service. I so wanted to yell at her but I gotta keep it calm since my mom go there often for blood work.
I hope she get reported soon for the attitude and rudeness she give to people esp the elderly. Btw, if you know want to know who I am taking about, the first picture on here is her.

The workers are not friendly or welcoming. Hey are so rude and always say «Sign in and sit down» in the most unwelcoming way ever. They don’t answer your questions and will tell you to «sign in and sit down». The front desk people talk to you as if you’re slow. man I felt so uncomfortable being there.

They have the worse services ever. Those people work at the front desk would never answer your question, and what they do is just ask you to sit down. Those people who draw your blood would never be gentle and don’t care if you feel pain. Over all, they have bad attitude to patients. Do not go to this place.

I have to create an account on Unilocal to leave this place a comment. I paid money for service and the staffs here treated me like I owed them something. Rude service, bad manner, and a terrible long line to wait. They will yell at your name in frustration and throw you an angry look when you try to ask them questions. I also saw them scolding at elderly (mostly Chinese and Vietnamese) in the worst attitude and I really don’t know why they were so patient to be treated like that. I will never waste my money to get service in this place again, never.

I never knew that places such as Quest existed. In SoCal, I always had my tests done at the doctors, and so I was surprised when my GP in Oakland directed me here. At first I was a bit uneasy when he told me the visit would last 8 – 10 hours– are they going to inspect my whole body?
I went home and I immediately made an appointment in downtown Oakland where they were open on Saturdays since I was afraid the test would last all day.
On Saturday morning, I took the bus and was late to my appointment by 2 minutes. The place opened at 8, and I came at 8:17. Right when I walked in, I thought I was at the wrong place because there were so many people! It was like DMV madness. Luckily, since I had my appointment I only had to wait a few minutes but I felt bad for those who didn’t.
I got called in after 10 minutes, and all the phlebotomist did was take my blood! I was in and out in 10 minutes.
Props to everyone who works at this Oakland location. Most customers are probably native Chinese or Viet and so all the workers have lots of patience. The only reason this places gets 3 stars from me is because I felt like I was overcharged for the test. Even with my insurance, my copay was over $ 100. That’s ridiculous!
In short, make an appointment and prepare to bring $$$.

My grandfather recently got some blood work done here and the time there was fantastic! My grandfather’s veins are awfully hard to retrieve blood from but the staff here did it effortlessly. Khanh and Laurina did the blood work painlessly and quickly as compared to other places. I highly recommend to get your blood work done here if you want to be out and about as quickly as possible.

My review is for the services of Miriam and another lab tech whose name I didn’t get. I had been to my doctor every day (several times a day, on some days!) for three days straight but no one there was able to draw my blood. I have really tiny veins in my arms and while it’s sometimes been a minor problem, I was having a procedure done and it was literally being held up because no one in my doctor’s office could seem to get my blood out. So, they sent me over to the experts at Quest. I braced myself for more of the same painful poking and futile wiggling underneath my skin as I waited in the (clean and sanitary!) waiting room. When I finally got into the actual lab room, Miriam quickly and painlessly drew my blood! I couldn’t believe it. I was literally so overjoyed that I cried just a little and she thought I was crying in pain. Ummm, no Miriam! These are joyous tears of I’ve been through five days straight of being poked and thinking I was a vampire when nothing came out. (Wait, do vampires bleed?) So anyway, Miriam is amazing and Quest lab techs in general always know how to get the job done quickly.

I found this Quest location to be very fast and efficient, my phlebotomist (Mae) friendly, careful and fast, and I was in and out of there in no time at all!
This location lets you make online appointments in advance, and I was called within minutes of arriving, definitely faster than other places I have gone in the past.

Located on the second floor of the Pacific Renissance Center in Oakland Chinatown, you can go on-​line and get a reservation as early as 7:40am. Parking meters begin to run at 8:00am, and street parking at 7:30am in the surrounding area is plentiful.
Everything ran very efficiently here at this location. After you get your lab work done, you can stop by a Chinese deli to grab some food to go!
Lot of folks waiting in line for lab work, so get an appointment on-​line and cut ahead of them!
