Would give them more stars based on tasty pies… BUT… the customer service leaves a lot to be desired. We have ordered twice and the second time the the guys working were rude and acted like it bothered them that I had called. Was on hold, hung up on then called back and put on hold again. Total hold time was almost ten minutes. Ordered the larger pie and called it an extra-large. He argued that they didn’t have an extra-large. Okay, then ill take the larger size, um… duh. Wanted to order ceasar salad and they did not have any ceasar dressing … At 6:45 on a Tuesday night? Really? Got it home and the toppings were all bunched up together. Are you guys stoned or what?

The team of pizza guys came to Livermore today at a music event. Feeling so lucky we had them here and had a chance to take a bite! Who could expect such tasty, crispy, pizzeria-grade pizza from a food truck?(Well, they hitch this hardcore oven around, so no wonder!) Another great thing is they accept cards via Square. Please do come and sell in Tri-Valley more often!

Really good! I wish I was local so I could come back but unfortunately we were just passing through town. Lunch special is a great deal! Was $ 7 for 1 slice, side salad and a soda or 2 slices and a soda. Their specialty pizza had figs and bacon and was so amazing and delicious. Very nice staff/owner.

James and crew catered our outdoor wedding celebration party this past weekend with his mobile pizza oven. We could not have been more satisfied. We are self appointed pizza aficionados who like our crusts thin and crispy with just a touch of chewiness. James nailed it. And the toppings were fresh and tasty. He has many options but we settled on pig and fig(hands down crowd fav), mobeda popletta(homemade meatball), funghi, and margherita. The mixed green salad also was spot on. Our guests raved about it all. I would work with fist of flour again in a heart beat. They were easy to work with and the food was amazing.

Had their fare at bites off Broadway. They have an interesting setup and a crust that is decent. $ 19($ 18+$ 1 tip) for a 20 inch pie left me underwhelmed and wishing I had paid more for one from my local joint and schlepped it with me. Or maybe I should have waited for the truck parked next to this setup to open, and ordered the veggie burger. For the record: the same pizza would have been a buck less from pizzaolio

That was a VERY good pizza! I have been feeling a bit stressed and exhausted after dealing with extra work stress following a coworker’s resignation and extra personal life stress following the theft of my motorcycle from under my bedroom window(thanks Oakland!) and was not even feeling up to feeding myself but the folks at Fist of Flour hooked me up with a large pizza with all my favorite things — arugula, garlic, basil, mushrooms(and NO cheese!) and a very nice fresh green salad that had cherry tomatoes and even little blueberries! Now I am provisioned for the weekend! Thanks, guys!

One of the better wood fire pizzas I have had in a while. The crust is a sourdough texture and the toppings were good. The sauce was solid. Next time may opt for a full pie but half a pie definitely hits the spot.

Their truck came to Orinda for an event. It’s one of the best pizzas I’ve ever had. Perfect crust and the tomato sauce fresh with delicious toppings. Can’t wait to go to their store in Oakland!

I went to their MacArthur shop and was very disappointed on their slice selections. It was dinner time and all they had were three cheese slices and a mushroom slice. It looked like left over from the employee’s lunch. So, I order the Classico, it was okay, but I had better. Pro: Close my place and it’s not a big chain Con: Lack of slice selections, bad service, and just OK pie For the price, I rather get Round Table.

Who ever knew that pizza cooked in a movable Pizza Oven can taste so DAMN good! Phew! So happy I found a unique pizza place like this. Pizza here is LEGIT! The owner James started his business in 2010 in a mobile food truck which I call(Food on wheels) and just opened his Pizza company on Macarthur in 2014 and let me say this is the BEST thing he could have done in this particular area! Good pizza is definitely needed and he was the perfect guy to do this. James states he is not a professional chef by trade but I think he does a FAB job in making pizza. I ordered a pizza and he made it right in front of me. He does all the baking and prepping and the young girl works the cashier! Team work makes the dream work, right? They both do an amazing job! Now moving on to the pizza: *Done in less than 10 minutes. *Pizza is thin and taste SO good *You can order pizza by the slice, half and whole($ 5 for the slice=1\4 pizza, $ 9 for half, 17 for whole) *Pizza choices that I know of: Cheese, Classico and El Greco I ordered the Classico that came with Pepperoni, garlic, mushrooms, Tomato, mozzarella and basil! Pizza is a little pricey but definitely worth every bite! The ingredients are fresh and he makes the pizza to order! What more can you ask for? I will definitely be back!

We had Fist of Flour cater our corporate event in Oakland… James, Shane and Allie were punctual, efficient, and a pleasure to work with — our guests enjoyed seeing the oven in the parking lot, and the attendant prep and dough artistry… Most importantly, the pizzas were excellent, and garnered rave reviews, for each of the four styles we had; the Home Alone was sublime…; the salad was good too. Overall: good fun, great pizza, excellent value as a catering choice, and we would both recommend them and use again… — Terra Nova Trading

Had their pizza at the Bluxome Street Winery event. The margherita was a soggy mess — about 3 times more cheese than their should be, no basil in sight and nonexistent crust. The pepperoni was way too salty. How can this place survive among such other great pizzerias?

I should put in a disclaimer before I start this review: I grew up in New York /New Jersey and I’m a Pizza Snob! Yup, its true, I’m a pizza snob; but then, who from New York /New Jersey isn’t a pizza snob? The best pizza in the world is found in the New York /New Jersey and we’re pretty damned spoiled. For this reason, I usually avoid writing reviews for pizza parlors because I’m always always left wanting … but not this time! Fist of Flour Pizza Company is a very small outfit comprised of individuals who truly LOVE to make pizza; and it’s obvious with every bite you’ll enjoy. They make their pizza in a brick oven(because that’s the way pizza is meant to be made!) and if you swing by then you’ll find them throwing and spinning the dough in the air rather than simply rolling it out … they know what they’re doing. This is also a wonderful spot because, to be fair, sometimes you just want a slice, not a whole pie; they sell by the slice. I love parlors that sell pizza by the slice because sometimes I want three completely different slices. Great pizza parlors are hard to find, so I encourage you to come check this one out, you won’t be disappointed.

Had the pleasure of checking them out at Drakes on the mobile side and these folks are AMAZING! Pizza is to die for. The flavoring is delicious and will have me coming back for more! I’ve never been a huge fan of thin crust, but they definitely revived my faith back in it and I’m back to being a fan! Check them out if you can! They have a mobile food truck and a actual location in Oakland. It’s worth it, I promise!

A truck pulling a pizza oven was intriguing; the pizza truck was trying to squeeze on to a walking trail at the Berkeley Marina where I was walking. Luckily, I saw the truck before the driver saw me. I guess it might have been a fitting end for me to be run over by a pizza oven. After all that excitement – I finished my walk and went back to try the pizza. I had a slice of pepperoni with basil. It was $ 9.00 for two slices of pizza. I could not finish them, but then again, I had already had a bit of lunch. The pizza was well prepared. The crust was thin and crisp, the toppings were fresh tasting. I would have preferred the basil to be a cooked a bit. I would definitely have a slice of their pizza the next I see this truck. Hopefully they might offer single slices.

Fist of Flour catered our wedding reception. They were awesome to work with. The group was super professional — everything was on time and exactly as promised. They were really nice to our younger guests and showed them how they make the pizzas. Our guests all loved the novelty of having a pizza oven right there in our front yard and raved about the pizzas. We’d definitely recommend them to anyone and everyone. And we’ll look forward to visiting them at Drakes Barrel House and reliving our wedding day.

Lets start with customer service… My standards for smaller business is a tad bit higher then a chain but still within reason. I expect to be greeted and assisted and not feel like a pest ESPECIALLY when no one else was there. We ordered an 18inch Funghi Deluxe pizza. Maybe this was the issue since it means more work for the staff instead of the pizza by the slice already made and all they need to do is reheat the slice. After we ordered my friend wanted to order a salad as well and the casher went up to her and said«Do you have another question» Which wouldn’t be a problem with the right tone and attitude… this came off as more of we were more of a bother then a guest.(And this was after we tipped 20% on the pizza) The cesar salad was great, dressing perfect with a hint of spice. The Funghi Deluxe itself wasnt bad but wasnt a WOW either. The sauce was too sweet the veggies tasted fresh. Most of the crust was crisp but the center was a bit soggy. It was worth trying but with the service and quality of the food I doubt I’ll be back. Oh BTW they charge a 3% surcharge if you use a credit/debit card.

Tasty fricken pizza! Grabbed a whole pizza while drinking beers at Drakes. They’re there a few times a month and I now understand why. Pizza goes great with beer, especially fantastic beer. The potato pizza paired well with my hoppy beers. Overall, a little pricy but it is convenient, handmade, brick fired, and served by nice people. I will eat again.

Time: 6:23pm/59°F cloudy Purpose: Was at the first friday event. Set-up: Mobile pizza truck. Canopy, oven, folding convention table, money/change safebox, 6ft rack, warmer/heater, paper plates. Staff: One girl and the owner with mustache. Owner does all the baking and prep work girl do cashier, package, orders and questions. Guy very quiet the girl talkative and informational. Cleanliness: Clean for the business permit hung on mesh screen. Eats/Drinks: My coworkers decided to order a whole pie took less than 10mins. Magherita pie was thin enough not too greasy and had somewhat of can sauce. The cheese were stretchy which I enjoy a lot. The edges were too thin out with no volume in center, a little hard. Products: Pizzas by the slice or whole. Slices $ 4, whole pies $ 16 Punch Lines: Gourmet pizza, thin, veggie, meat, GF, pricier than shops around, less than basic eat. Final Thoughts: I just don’t know why people flock to FOF. My guess is that the first pizza place they see coming from the 27th/telegraph street side entering first friday, a strong magnet stops them dead on tracks. There’s about 4 – 5 places on telegraph that has pizza to offer with bigger size and place to sit. You see it’s another one of those mobile joint were spur of the moment feeling all mighty last day of work, weekend is here. One person buys than another walks up never had it before decided to order because the crowd is there. Friends watching on thinking are you a cheapskate or not. You pulls out wallet buy a pie you don’t like can’t return just eat and be smarter next time. I’ll give them props for naming business like the classic 1972 movie«Fist of Fury» featuring kung-fu martial art expert Bruce Lee. Not a follower of crowd sourcing hype!

The hubby found this place somehow. Just driving down Laurel you’d never know it was there from it’s unassuming corner storefront. We ordered take out(the only option available) and ordered a large Italiano. The ingredients were excellent and I liked the thin crunchy crust. The fresh basil they threw on top right before handing me the box was the best part though … $ 30 for a large pizza not cheap, but tastes like it came straight out of a friend’s pizza oven. I’ll be back, until I get my pizza oven built in my backyard …

I was smashed at the Drake’s Hopocalypse release last weekend, and FISTOFFLOUR showed up… I can’t remember the name, but I basically got the meat pizza and it was good stuff… I think. They have a little mobile pizza oven and fire up the pies. It took about 10 minutes and the pizza was just what I needed. Only gripe: big fat grease stain on my white shirt. Gotta blame the pizza and not the guy drinking the beer! 3.75 stars
